This Single Speaker Is All You Need!

From live sound reinforcement and event audio and speaking engagements to mobile DJing, the PRX ONE outputs a shocking amount of sound and boasts an intuitive workflow to boot. It features 12 vertically arranged 2.5-inch drivers, driven by JBL’s AIM (Array Inumbration Mechanics) technology, distributing crystal-clear HD audio throughout a room in a wide 130-degree x 30-degree dispersion pattern. Place the PRX ONE in the center of your performance stage, and you can be sure listeners on either side of the room will be able to hear you clearly. The JBL PRX ONE’s speaker columns connect to a 12-inch woofer that extends the frequency response down to a bone-rattling 35Hz. Playing smaller gigs? You can leave your outboard mixer at home since the PRX ONE gives you seven channels of audio to suit the whole band. There’s even a dedicated Bluetooth/aux channel for music between sets and dance tracks for weddings and parties. With 2,000 watts of peak power and a design that nearly slips into the background, the JBL PRX ONE column PA system from Sweetwater is your one-way ticket to high-impact sound in a low-profile, easy-gigging design.

7-channel digital mixer

Some column PAs really skimp when it comes to channel count. But not the JBL PRX ONE. This system gives you seven audio channels and four mic preamps to build your sound. Plug in your bass, your guitar, a couple microphones, and a keyboard, and you’ve got reinforcement for the whole band that literally straps to your back. And yes, there’s +48V phantom power for all your handheld stage condensers.

Bluetooth/aux channel

Jamming along to live backing tracks or pumping out jams before a set is a no-brainer using the PRX ONE’s dedicated Bluetooth/aux channel. Now you can stream tracks wirelessly from your phone via this PA’s blazing Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity, or simply plug in a laptop for DJing duties.

XLR Pass Thru

The PRX ONE’s XLR Pass Thru sends a mirror of your entire mix — gain, levels, EQ, and effects — out over a single mono XLR cable into another PA speaker or recorder. This is useful for gigs that necessitate increasing the number of speakers available or for special sets when you want to capture a memorable performance.

Knob-per-function gain, EQ, and effects

Menu diving is a must on many popular column speakers, but that is not the case with the JBL PRX ONE. This PA makes it so even novice users can dial in gain, set EQ, and unleash a potent cocktail of reverb, chorus, and delay in 60 seconds. Sweetwater users especially like the dedicated master knob located right in the center of the control panel for easy-peasy level setting.

8 user presets

Instant set recall is one of the best things about using a PA like the JBL PRX ONE. Now you can lock in settings during practice and recall them instantly once you get to the venue.

Onboard DriveRack tech

The dbx DriveRack gets top billing on the rider lists of many live sound engineers. In the PRX ONE, the tech is built right in. Now you can enjoy automatic feedback suppression, 8-band room tuning, and a speaker-protecting master limiter without bringing a full rack of gear.

USB 2.0 ports: charge phones and power wireless units

Whether you need to power wireless systems straight from the sub or you just want to keep your phone topped off as you play backing tracks, a pair of USB 2.0 ports in the JBL PRX ONE has you covered.

Note: An optional JBL adapter cable (not included) may be required for wireless systems.

12 x 2.5-inch speaker array

A dozen 2.5-inch drivers run up and down the JBL PRX ONE’s speaker columns. These speakers contain custom high-frequency drivers with copper-capped pole pieces to deliver a smooth high-frequency response. From the air in a singer’s voice to the harmonics of a strummed acoustic guitar, the PRX ONE can faithfully reproduce any sound.

12-inch subwoofer

A 12-inch bass-reflex woofer extends this system’s low-end response all the way down to 35Hz. That’s low enough to faithfully reproduce the low E on a bass guitar, the boom of a 24-inch kick drum, and the room-shaking LFE of your favorite dancehall banger.

2,000 watts of peak power

The muscle behind the PRX ONE’s bustle is a 2,000-watt Class D power amplifier. This amp was chosen by JBL for its clean headroom and high linearity, as well as its light weight for easy transit.

Best addition to my dj rig!

The JBL PRX One speakers are the best new thing I have bought for my dj rig in a long time. They are replacing some aging QSC's, and I couldn't be more pleased! The sound is fantastic, from the highest highs to the lowest lows. They haven't let me down yet, and the weight and space savings can't be beat. Buy some today!

Very Impressive

I just received one of these and it is REALLY impressive. The sound quality is excellent but the KILLER feature is the app. It is super easy to use but VERY powerful. Check out the videos on my youTube channel for tips and tricks on how I am using it.

Glad I picked these over the others

As a mobile DJ these have been a game changer. I have used them for Weddings, Campgrounds and School Events. They are easy to set up and they sound great. The App can be a little confusing but once you work through it you are good to go.

Takes a bit of adjustment and getting used to

I had an old PRX (710's on top) PA with little powered Samson 15" subs that was getting older and the subs were not keeping up with the demand of a hard rockin' band (I mean, for what they are we got our money's worth out of them for sure)...

Looked around at all the options (Bose, Inspire - which I use at work - , EV - which a bunch of my buddies use - , etc... and the JBL's kept calling my name. My singer had just picked one PRX ONE up for his acoustic solo shows to replace his EON One MKII that he had been using for a while.

First the setup - Holy cow is setup fast and easy. I work in live sound and have spent more time hanging and stacking arrays than I'm proud to admit, so to have both speakers 'put together' and patched into my system in basically a minute is amazing. I tend to get to the venue before my band so I have time to setup the system before they get there and this makes that easy - sooo fast!

Next the controls - I run a console into the PRX One's, so I haven't even downloaded the app - I'll have to do firmware updates before our next show so I'm going to have to get the app, but do not plan on using the app ever. The onboard mixer is pretty robust, and while you COULD spend time digging through menus the basic modes are either the knobs control the gains (volumes - they work a bit differently than you'd think) OR the knobs control the different functions (Gain, Bass, Mid, Treble, Reverb, Delay, Chorus) for whichever channel is selected. In my opinion that really couldn't be easier. If I were using the unit standalone, I'm sure it might feel a bit more cumbersome trying to get to the deeper controls, but getting channels turned on/up and basic EQ/FX seem pretty straight-forward

Then there is the sound - It takes a bit of getting used to - because it's not a spike of high frequencies right beside your head (I used to have one of those PRX 710's up next to my head) and it seemed like it wasn't really all that loud, but when I stepped out front and got a little distance it was nicely clear and crisp and my fears were calmed... The CLIP light does seem to come on pretty early (waaaaaay before any actual distortion) but we are running everything direct (E-Drums, Bass, 2 guitars and 3 vocals). The subs also take a bit of mental adjustment - they sound much louder ON stage than they do out front, so I have to run it a little hotter than with the old system (which is fine for me, I'm the bass player). We are also on In-Ears, so a little more 'thump' on stage is not a bad thing!

I've used them for a jazz quartet outside for 200 people and that is about the limit for these. We weren't running them to distortion, but beyond that audience I'd safely say you'd need to add more speakers or a delay set. Mostly we use them for smaller venues either inside or outside and they perform well. Side- note and not specific to these speakers: I did add some small powered speakers on the stage as 'stage fills' and put a stereo mix of the instruments and just a touch of the vocals in them - this helps when people approach the band to make requests or want to join and sing with the band - the PRX One's were doing a great job covering the seating/audience area but on-stage the volume was so low, it was almost unnatural (again, we run everything direct/controlled). Once I added those (even just using a pair of Powerwerx/Kustom PA50's, which ended up being my preferred boxes for this purpose because of their size) stage-fills everything feels more gelled-together and if I need to pull an in-ear out to talk to someone I can still get a good 'on-stage' feeling at a completely reasonable volume!)

Transporting is easy, though the nylon on one of the covers is already ripping. My car has sooo much extra space now, these things BOTH/Together take up just a little more room than ONE of the powered subs I used to bring, and because the tops come in a nylon bag, you can slide them wherever you need to.

I'm still getting used to these, even though it's been months. I think I've also had a lot of 'stressful extras' thrown at me on most gigs (not related to the JBL's) so I'll keep analyzing them over some (hopefully) more run-of-the-mill gigs. I also plan on putting them against the EON MKII and Inspire 3000's (we have both of those in our inventory) soon and I'll do a comparison video! Photos are Kilgroov (band facing drummer), Second Echo (band inside venue) and Jazz Quartet outdoors

AMAZING SPEAKER - DON'T SETTLE FOR LESS

I can't say enough good things about these speakers. I purchased two and, the amount of clear sound that comes through them is amazing! They are exceptionally simple to operate (I knew NOTHING about this kind of stuff) but LOTS of customizable options. The BT has zero latency so, I can pair it with my laptop and projector and have a great outdoor movie experience. I used them for a ceremony as well and, everyone was impressed with the sound.
Derek Spaulding set me up with everything I needed and, I would suggest talking to him if you know as little as I did!
Side note, spend the extra money for the rolling transporter cover - I absolutely LOVE it! (Derek's recommendation).
