Batteries last at high power so will mostly complete the job before changing them so it’s great to have two sets. They charger is super fast! I have lots of animals so I can quickly clean up outside areas. My animals don’t like the noise though. I got one of the attachments to add to the force. Tool is very handy and for the size it is easy to use and light enough to get cobwebs from outside ceiling areas. It should work well to get leaves off roofs and awnings before they collapse

Very pleased with this Makita Blower Kit. Quality workmanship and easy to use product. Product performed as expected. The extra pair of 5.0Ah batteries are a great bonus, especially for the and item like this that requires a pair of 18V batteries to operate.
PRO's:
- Powerful blower with a wide range of air velocity settings (1-6)
- Nice balance of the of the blower when the batteries are attached
- Came with quick charge dual charger and 4 x 5.0Ah 18V batteries
- Comes with one extension pipe with a round outlet
- Both the blower and the individual batteries have power indicators showing state of battery charge
- Blower compatible with all my other Makita 18V batteries, but the larger Ah batteries are more suitable for this blower due to it's power consumption.

CON's:
- If using the blower for extended periods, especially on the higher settings, it can get a little heavy. But to be clear I was aware of this when purchasing the product - it did not come as a surprise.

Overall, very pleased with the product since purchasing it nine months ago.

This thing is awesome. Plenty of power, reasonable weight, great battery life. One big bonus is that it is very quiet! I have a relatively small yard, I can blow out my gutters and blow the whole yard on a single charge. The air velocity is very high, but also well modulated. Works great for clearing leaves from beds, even if they are lines with gravel. I have been slowly acquiring tools that share this same Makita battery pack format, and I have been satisfied with all of them. I now have three chargers and 8 batteries, so there are always plenty of fully charged packs available.

This Makita replaced a nice little 2-cycle gasoline Echo yard blower, and it's a better machine in every way. It is more powerful, doesn't require gas and oil, doesn't smell, and is very quiet. I won't know about reliability for some time, but since I still have a Makita electric drill I purchased in the 1980s I have high hopes for that as well.
My yard gets a ton of redwood branches this time of year, which have needles that tend to catch on things. It used to take me 20-40 minutes to clean the yard with the Echo, and the Makita makes the job a little faster and definitely more fun. The emitted air seems to be less turbulent, so the air plume extends further and I can blow the leaves about twice as far.
I normally leave the speed control on "4", which will move gravel or a thick carpet of leaves. At first I locked the trigger on full speed for 20 minutes until the batteries ran out, but then I learned that the trigger has a nice variable-speed capability. Running a gas blower less than full doesn't save a lot of gas, but lower speeds dramatically extend battery life and are more than sufficient for a thin layer of leaves. With a little technique I can easily go 40 minutes on fully-charged batteries and still have some life left at the end. Modulating the speed also makes it easier to dislodge leaves from cracks or clean off stepping stones.
This is my new favorite piece of yard equipment. Highly recommended.

Before purchasing this Makita blower I already owned an EGO 530 CFM blower for a few months. I made the decision to buy this blower almost entirely because of the FOUR 5.0 Ah batteries and the double fast charger. I thought even if I didn't need an additional blower, the batteries and the charger would still be a great deal at $300. It costs a little more now, probably because of the Trump tariffs on Chinese goods.

Until the Makita came along I thought the EGO was the best blower in the world because it's so powerful. I don't think the EGO is the best blower anymore. In fact the Makita is now my go-to blower even though it's much less powerful than the EGO. What made me change my mind regarding the Makita is the Makita's instantaneous and highly responsive trigger switch. The Makita's switch allows me to feather the trigger to corral leaves into a tight pile. With the powerful EGO, I could never properly corral leaves because the EGO's switch has a huge 1/2 second time lag between change in trigger movement and change in airflow.

One thing of note is that this Makita blower's battery life is short when used at full throttle, probably giving around 5 minutes of use at full blast. If I dialed it back to level 3 (i.e. 1/2 power) or even level 1, I could still do the majority of my cleanup work, although at a slightly slower pace. The benefit with using just enough power to do the cleanup work and reserving maximum power only for occasional use when needed is the battery charge can last a whole lot longer. If I left everything at full blast, the batteries would last maybe 5 minutes and I couldn't get the cleanup work done for just my front yard. However, if used minimum power needed, I could clean up my whole front yard and would still have 2/3 of battery charge left when I'm done. The same phenomenon is observed with the EGO blower and battery.

There are two things I don't like about the Makita: First dislike is the air intake is right on the back where it will happily suck on loose clothing and thereby blocking airflow. On the EGO there is a cage on top of the air intake grill that prevents this from happening. Second dislike is the dial which controls the maximum speed available to the throttle switch is clumsy to use. Other than these two minor flaws, I like the Makita blower a whole lot more than the EGO even though the EGO has a lot more raw power, but in terms of practical use taking everything into account, the Makita wins.

I love my Makita blower and have been using it not just for leaves and debris but also light snow. When the snow is only an inch and dry, it makes short work of clearing a deck or driveway, with cleaner results than a shovel. Let’s me stay on top of keeping the driveway clear (till the big snowfalls come, anyways). Works great. Batteries last well. Strong design. I’ve used it far more than I expected. Would buy again.

Depending on the application, this blower works great. Not a snow blower, so doesn't work well to clear anything other then a light, fresh skiff of a sidewalk. But does work well to blow snow of a car, leaves off a driveway/patio, shingle debris off a roof, etc. The batteries don't last too long at full throttle, but the charger is fast and does two at once. Glad I bought it; I needed the batteries for other tools, and the blower didn't add that much cost.
The only negative is that the intake is easy to plug with a loose jacket since it is at the end that faces you - pretty minor, I still like it!

Coming from an electric wired blower, this is just great. No more tangled wires and so convenient to use when ever you feel like it.
The fact that you do not have to pull the cord out, battery powered remember, and untangle it when you want to use it is an absolute bonus.
I picked it because reviews claimed a perfect in hand balance and it is true.
The two batteries last long enough to do a good job of my back and front yard, the extra 2 will come in handy in the spring and autumn with bigger cleaning jobs.
