    Excellent portable camera
I have owned professional/semipro cameras for over 10 years from Nikon d750, D500, Sony, canon etc. in that light , I am making some comments.PROS1.) Ultra light. The lightest full frame camera. With some of the pancake lenses, it is falls in range of 2-3 lb. It is lighter with prime lens than most mirrorless without their lens.2.) Compact. I can fit this easily in a front pocket of backpack or in a moderate sized satchel.3.) Long battery life. In a recent Disney trip, the battery lasted me entire day and evening.4.) Accurate color. In my case experience, this camera has given me most accurate colors comparing side by side with real scene. Even in night time, the photos have accurately captured colors.5.) Weatherproof. I used it in Disney on a rainy day and I did not used a cover or case.6.) Photo transfer. Bluetooth photo transfer to phone or devices is a breeze.7.) Other - usability: Ultra nice menu, quick start, three control dials,CONS1.) Night time focus. focus in low light conditions is tricky. In fact, it is hard to get out of focus in day time by contrast.2.) viewfinder is horrible. Small, low resolution and side location. I would simply use live screen. The viewfinder has been compromised due to compact design so it is an acceptable thing for me.3.) Cost. Objectively, it would be nice to have it 300-400$ cheaper but there is no competition for this thing. Only better options are either APSC (Fuji, etc.) or so expensive (Leica).4.) JPG mode gives darker, little under saturated pictures.Summary: overall, it is a great buy and it would be definitely goto and travel camera for coming years.

I'm just a hobbyist, and this camera makes me feel like a pro. Upgraded from the a7iii and this a7cii is worlds better. The autofocus is snappy and accurate - my toddlers aren't fast enough to beat it yet. Using the same lenses as we used before, the image quality is absolutely better.

Favorite Sony camera to date. Sony a6100 was my first Sony camera when I moved from Nikon. Loved the image file it created but hated the form factor. Ended up going back to Nikon until the Sony a7iii came out. Loved that camera! In my opinion the a7Cii fixed most all of the form factor/usability issues of the a6100 while having full frame capabilities. With travel and nature photography being what I love, this is pretty much a perfect camera. A7Rii may be a bit better with a bit better image file, but didn’t want to spend that much money.

I owned an A7c for 2 years. The New Sony a7c II with the Zeiss 55 1.8 is a magical combo. This camera is very fast focusing even with this 10 year old lens. It is very sticky when tracking, and with the Ai chip face detection is quick to lock on and stay with the eye. If the head turns it goes into tracking mode then back to eye AF when it sees the eye again. The touch screen is very good. If the camera is small for big hands you can buy a plate so your pinky has a home. I love it. Hope the honeymoon never ends

My use case is photos and small video clips of my vacations. Here are my thoughts about the A7CII in no particular order

Initially it seemed like battery life was going to be much lower, but in real world usage of shooting vacation pics, there's practically no difference. It lasts me 2-3 days, ymmv.

The size and weight difference may not be significant from the specs, but it's definitely noticeable. It is much easier to carry in my hand and it's less torture on my shoulder when in my bag.

The creators app is way better than the old Imaging Edge app: it connects MUCH faster, and there are more controls for remote shooting.

The shutter button of the A7CII needs to be depressed slightly more than the one on the A7III, I liked the latter better but no biggie.

Same for the ON OFF switch, it takes a bit of getting used to. I prefer the older implementation.

Flippy screen! Love it. Something that really bothered me on the A7III.

For a casual shooter like me, the number of custom buttons is just enough.

The new menu system is such a great improvement from the old one that I can't bear using the A7III's anymore.

Finally full touch functionality for tracking/focus, AE, settings, and also shooting.

The auto mode is a lot better than the A7III. It means I can just switch to auto, hand the camera to my wife and I can be guaranteed a good shot. As long as the horizon isn't tilted lol.

AF was already great on the A7III but it's CRAZY GOOD now. I've clicked pics and videos of running dogs and it latched on throughout. Only when the subject gets really small in the frame does it start to fail.

The viewfinder is not as good as the A7III's. If you want to compose using it with your other eye open as well, it won't work because the image is too small in the viewfinder.

I'm loving that the camera now supports streaming mode, people can now see me in all my splendor in zoom calls. Although I did run into it overheating and shutting off around the 1 hour mark. Battery life does not drain when connected to the PC by USB C as long as you have a good cable and a higher power output port.

On that note, the USB port is on the left side on the top, so when the screen is flipped out the cable tends to be over the screen. Not ideal.

The built in timelapse and bulb mode settings is great, I had a separate USB remote shutter release for my A7III that I don't need anymore.

I much prefer the unmarked exposure compensation dial on the A7CII.

5.0 out of 5 stars Small camera, little compromise

My use case is photos and small video clips of my vacations. Here are my thoughts about the A7CII in no particular order

Initially it seemed like battery life was going to be much lower, but in real world usage of shooting vacation pics, there's practically no difference. It lasts me 2-3 days, ymmv.

1.0 out of 5 stars When 'New' doesn't really mean new anymore

Probably it is just me that’s run out of luck. But I'm starting to wonder if Amazon's definition of "new" has changed these days. The camera itself is good, I like it. However giving this purchase one star doesn't even begin to cover my frustration. I paid the full price for what I believed was a “new” camera, not something that had been marked as an "open box" deal or part of the "warehouse deals”.

Upon arrival, everything seemed in order; the package appeared to be factory-sealed. But the surprises that awaited me inside. First off, the moment I turned on the camera, it skipped the standard initial setup process, greeting me in French no less. Then, I discovered the camera was already Bluetooth-paired with a stranger's phone. As if that wasn't enough, the rubber seal around the SD card slot was marred with scratches, a clear testament to its previous adventures. And the shutter count was over 2000 – clear signs it wasn't new.

After trying out this camera, I might still buy it from another store. It’s balanced and lightweight. The autofocus is great. It's just that my trust in purchasing certain items from Amazon has been deeply shaken – to the point where I'm questioning if I'll ever take that risk again. Whatever Amazon's strategy here, it's damaging their credibility, at least in my eyes.
