Customers are mixed about the speed of the leaf blower. Some love the multiple speeds, saying it has a top speed of 185 MPH. They say it's relatively efficient for blowing leaves and okay for vacuuming leaves. However, other customers say that it'll take too long and waste battery power to sit there and suck up leaves. "...For me that feature is bulky and awkward and not nearly as efficient as the blower...." Read more

My go to for small jobs- customer service however...

My go to for small jobs- customer service however...
This blower was my 2nd tool that I purchased from Greenworks back in 2016. I use it primarily for up at our camp for small easy jobs to remove light dry leaves and pine needles. It's quick, powerful enough, and the battery allows me to get the whole job done. Plus it's quiet. This tool has caused me to expand my greenworks products as well. I have their trimmer, pruner, hedger and small chainsaw. I've sworn by this product and suggested it to others.Recently I contacted customer service for the first time. The sticker covering the buttons on top of the unit came off during our fall clean up. This was the 2nd time since owning the unit that this happened except I could not find the sticker this time. Seeing that this sticker covers the main control buttons which will be a highly used area susceptible to wear (from the constant push of the buttons) I thought it would be easy to replace. The sticker also protects the unit from moisture and operator from electric shock. The rep was very confused when I was trying to describe the missing piece, but also seemed to be annoyed from the get go when I called. After I gave her my serial number and mfg date she put me on hold and came back to tell me it's not a replaceable part. I was disappointed to hear as initially I thought it would be an easy replacement. I can make due without the piece and use clear tape. It's not ideal as I wanted to keep the product looking good, but what bugged me the most was the interaction with the customer service rep. I clearly caught her on a bad day as my call seemed inconvenient to her and she let me know it. When asking if there is a risk to shock with this sticker being removed she told me not to pour water on it which felt like a smart @ss answer especially with her delivery. So, in closing, I like the greenworks products, but my opinion of the company has definitely changed today.7-6-23 UpdateRecently I’ve been having trouble turning this unit on. So much so that I have spent upwards of a minute plus pressing the on button trying to get it to work. Finally I decided it was time to replace. Since it’s been 9 years since I originally purchased I wanted to check out the Gen 2 for new and improved??I wasn’t impressed with Gen 2. The on is now pulling and holding the trigger. There is a trigger lock toggle for cruise control, you really need two hands to engage and disengage that feature. The top button is not a turbo button like Gen. 1 but a full throttle lock that you can achieve by pressing the trigger fully. I was having issues with the unit not staying on so I purchased a new gen 1 to compare (see additional pics)I did not notice any power difference between the two even though gen 2 boasts more. I didn’t test battery life in both units. The leaf mulching function seemed to be improved by looking at the new set up with wheels on the tube but honestly I think that unnecessary. I didn’t hook up and compare the two because honestly the mulch function I only use to get stubborn leaves out of my enclosed garden area and garden beds 1x a year and I need a few charges to complete the area.Gen 2 is heavier and bulkier and not as comfortable to move around with one hand/ arm.Gen 1 also has a better rear grab area to hang the tool. After comparing, I decided I liked gen 1 more than gen 2 and am returning gen 2. Hopefully I get another 9 years plus out of this unit.
