Into the Vines (Into the Vines Trilogy) Paperback – August 4, 2021

4.7 4.7 out of 5 stars 5 ratings

Into the Vines is a novel of discovery, personal triumph and heroism. French Bleu, a vintage-jazz nightclub in Paris offers a reprieve to its inhabitants from death, illness and captivity. Olivier is a pilot who rescues stranded and desperate souls from famine and war torn areas of Africa, while Daniela, a young nurse, seeks that which is amiss in her own life. Brie, a strong woman, must find a destiny which awaits her own ambition. She celebrates a milestone birthday after encountering an illness, bringing grace and experience in her search for something more. Daniela dreamed. "I want to be as confident as Brie on a sunny day in Savannah in the summertime." From the vineyard cooking school in the garden-like Loire Valley, where these three lives meet, to the streets of Paris, where fate brings blessings from angst and longing. This sanctuary seemingly held an inspirational deity as they witnessed a spiritual unity on the Ceremonial Cliffs. Hawa dreams of flying a plane someday, while Francis possesses natural talents of the musical kind. Together they keep a secret for fear of retribution. "I heard LOVE lasts forever and my mom says there are all kinds of love. So maybe you should find another kind of love, since your first love lasted forever," said Francis.

Into the Vines is a contemporary story of fiction but be prepared for a lovely story that reads like nonfiction. Why can't this really happen in our lives you ask? From tragedy and hopes and fears this adventure begins and keeps moving. I couldn't put it down. I wanted to be in her world. Whatever happens Brie will make it better.
The story goes global and the surprising heroine is just getting started. I'd like to see this author write the next chapter/book with her new heroine, it seems so real. Realism. We need it in our lives today. Real women and the men who love and respect them. Great read! Five stars. Go Kim Troike.

When I finish reading a book I say to myself "did this book keep my interest?" and I don't want to put it down.  INTO THE VINES did both of the above.  Even though it was fictional the book was very informative and factual. I have read all of the author's other books and poetry and thoroughly enjoyed them.

This story is a beautiful contemporary take on what love is and means. It also touches on self-discovery and soul-searching. Brie is this courageous, strong woman facing everything that is thrown at her. Daniela is a nurse finding her purpose and looks up to Brie. Olivier is a rescue pilot saving stranded people.
From the beginning of the story, the reader is captured into this dramatic ordeal. I liked that very much. The heroine of the story is also not just the focus of the tale; this allows the reader to also enjoy the teasing effects of the backstory and built up to when they are going to hear from Brie again. The author does a fabulous job in researching and providing detailed information on certain matters she emphasizes in the tale.
Topics that are referenced in the book have substantial background information. This factor was refreshing and made the story more believable.

The character building and how they were all interconnected was also beneficial. Harmony and support were apparent between some. Family meant something, and the pace was a little slow but consisted of rich content.

Into the Vines carries hope and understanding. The Author has skilfully added her poetry style of writing into the whole tale, increasing the touch of the magic of which the book provides. Many things are happening in this book, and you do get voluntarily trapped in wanting to know what happens next. I loved the twist in the plot and also the ending.

I recommend this book to romance fiction lovers and look forward to reading more from this Author.

Lots of things happen during this fair long story. By judging the book cover I thought the novel would only portrait the glam and the excitement of traveling and visiting several places around the world and the prospect of meeting people from diversified backgrounds,. But… not quite. The book is actually a compendium of different lives and incidents where sorrow and happiness take place seemingly.

The first pages of the book are just awesome; Daniela witnesses an accident that gets your full attention right away as she tries to save a little boy’s mother who was trapped in the driver’s seat. Reading this passage you wonder if this is rather a sad story about an orphan kid. Well, fortunately not that sad.

Moreover I was startled when our heroine suddenly vanished from sight; and I thought to myself: now what? But things would develop in time; and an unexpected twist of events will abruptly alter the course. The story somehow entails the query: What if your friend’s passing brings you and her boyfriend together? Would you feel you’re betraying your friendship or would you carry on? Mm… food for thought.

However, no long after, the touching scene of the car crash sharply contrasts with the following passages which show the trip to France and all the fabulous places in Paris. The book comprises a great range of subjects where the author exhibits considerable knowledge on many interesting topics such as everything that is related to the wine properties and vineyards, type of airplanes and how they operate, the raw material for elaborating perfumes; she also describes life in the wild and the cultural ceremonies carried out by locals.

The narrative summons a big group of characters who courageously try to do the best of their lives to fulfill their dreams and get along with each other harmoniously. Something I really liked was the deep sense of family and how the characters indeed cared for their loved ones.

On the other side, even though a well written text I personally think the book is somewhat slow and chapters too long. Considering the amount of events that take place throughout the book I would rather have chosen to leave out some less relevant passages in order to shorten the text a bit and make it a little more fluid.
In overall, great reading with a sizable variety of subjects and interesting and different walks of life. I’ll be eager to read the sequel if there’s one coming up sometime.
