I was pleasantly surprised by the Lumiman bulbs. They are sufficiently bright - as bright as the non-smart LED 60W equivalent bulbs I replaced with them. They offer several temperatures of white - cool, daylight, white, warm, soft - so you have some good flexibility there to suit your white temperature preference - and you can change it on demand too!
The non-white colors are not as bright as the whites but I wasn't expecting them to be. You can choose from a huge range of colors in the PlusMinus app using a color wheel. Using voice command from Alexa, you can maybe pick from 15 or so named colors plus the 5 white temperatures. It's plenty, really. The PlusMinus app also has some "scenes" you can set up that make them change colors rapidly in a pattern. The scenes are kind of neat to play with, but probably not something I'll use that much. Fun party favor I suppose.
Alexa integration is really good. You can turn them off/on, change the colors, change the brightness by talking to Alexa or using the Alexa app.
Set up was easy after I got past one initial hurdle. A 2.4 GHz network is required for first time set up. I have Google wifi hubs that support both 2.4 and 5 Ghz, but they don't let you choose whether to connect your phone/tablet to 2.4 or 5 GHz. The Google hub decides for you based on what it decides is optimal and in my case that was 5 GHz. So to install these I had to dig out an older tablet that doesn't have 5 GHz so that I could connect to 2.4 and use the app to configure them. May or may not be a stumbling block for you depending on your network. Once you install them the first time, though, you can control them from a 5 GHz network - no problem.
I've only had them a week so I can't comment on longevity. Final tip is that if you have some particular scenes you like (e.g. this bulb red, this bulb blue, that one gold, etc.) you can create a routine using the Alexa app that will set all that up with a single voice command (that you choose). Kind of a nice short cut to setting a room up quickly with some pre-determined lighting settings. Good fun and useful.
Right from the start, set up was easy. I set up one in the kitchet, on a regular light switch. One went in a lamp that has a dimmer setting, so it's two turns off, two turns on, still...easy to the bulb in pairing mode. And we set up 4 in our family room in the recessed lighting. Which, still look great. I put all 4 in at once, and they all 4 paired. Easy, so that's a huge plus in my book.
As far as colors, quality and brightness. You will not be disappointed. We like to simulate sunlight in our basement that doesn't have access to natural light. You can set routines on alexa for this and these bulbs do great there. The colors are near perfect and these are pretty damn bright lol.
Getting the app hooked up to alexa was a snap as well, and they work perfect. We have some set up on timers, some on a routine and some we just do manual. No issues all 3 ways, unless the kids have turned off a light switch they aren't suppose to. In that case, just turn the switch back on, they have no lost connection to the app, so no worrying about having to re-pair them.
We bought a 2 pack of these to try them out vs others...we came back for 6 more bulbs and I will be ordering more. Highly recommend.
My first experience was a very easy setup. I had no problems getting them to connect to my iPhone's iOS app (PlusMinus app), however, there is NO Homekit integration, only Siri Shortcuts, so if you're a person who prefers to have all of your accessories in a single app (Homekit), this product may not be for you. Having said that, they do work great with the Google Home Mini app from the little bit I played around with it, and as I just received today my new Echo Show, the Alexa integration appears to so far be flawless (I can add them to groups! Thank goodness!). If you're an Alexa-based home, you'll be really happy with this interface, I think. I'm hoping to add more Alexa products into my home this year, so this product may turn to a five-star rating from me. Until then...
My only other complaint is the way you use the PlusMinus iOS app. It's horrible. I don't expect my lights to do much, outside of the voice-command operatives I was hoping to use with a smart speaker (as mentioned above, I've figured out a way to do that properly with Alexa and Google, not Homepod yet). The app itself is EXTREMELY buggy. Sometimes it crashes for no reason, and you cannot properly create a Scene with a specific color where it remembers your preferences, despite there being a Favorites/Star section. If you want the blinking custom Scenes that the app comes with, you'll be fine, but I find the random blinking to be distracting. I would rather create my own ambiance, but it does not give you the ability to do so easily.
My purchase was made based on wanting to create a color scene with color bulbs that would go along with my daylight/dusk Lifx bulbs for movie viewing at night. Meaning, they (these bulbs) would be colored, while I could use my dusk bulbs (Lifx) very dimmed. I needed bulbs that were capable of being set to a "Scene" within a smart setup. This product appears to promise that, but cannot deliver.
A way around the issue of saving/favoriting colors, what you can do is go to the PlusMinus app, then Scenes, Jump, and set only ONE color (your new Favoriting colors, name it), and choose the color from the homescreen that way. I cannot set this as a scene in Siri Shortcuts, despite it telling me I can. What you're supposed to be able to do is go to the bulb in the app's homescreen, then go to create a shortcut for that individual one where you can select a scene you'd like to use. If I try to select a Scene for this shortcut creation (in my case, I'd want to select Jump/color I named), it forces it to switch to "Halloween." No matter what you try, it goes to that. You cannot pick anything else. Then you try to save, and it crashes the app. The shortcut will create, despite the crash, but it will not work in Shortcuts, even though it's there.
HOWEVER, while I can't properly create a Siri shortcut for a SCENE or color that I want, I *can* at least use a Siri Shortcut to turn on and off the bulb. That works, at least. If that's all you care about, setting the lights on/off with a shortcut, these bulbs are fine.
The timer for the bulbs seem to work just fine as well. They can't select colors for this, though. Only the white/bright selection. If you set up a timer, they can dim slowly over a period of time (up to max 60 minutes) until they turn off, and reverse to turn on. I have enjoyed waking up to my lights without having to turn them on myself, so to that degree, I would recommend these bulbs.
So basically, color selection does work on the bulb, and you have to set it up manually if you want colors. It's a bit of a hassle when you purchase it for the automation/voice command ability, but if you don't care about that, they're fine bulbs. The color and brightness of these bulbs is actually pretty nice and at least works well enough for what I'm using it for, so I would recommend them based on that too. I would easily give these five stars if the app wasn't so buggy and Homekit integration were better. There's always the off-chance it will get worked on!
From what I can see the company seems to have had another app called Luminate/Lumination at some point before PlusMinus existed, which no longer is supported. That app apparently gave you more control over the products, but as I do not have any experience with it myself I cannot rate that.
I do like the quality of these bulbs, and I am interested in trying out their other products.

I might change all the bulbs in my house and replace them with these.
The app is decent, but could use a better UI. There needs to be an automated function to lower brightness of it.
