The first thing I noticed was that the pump was inaudible to me over my case fans, I actually thought the pump wasn't on at first or my motherboard header wasn't working. As a heads up it seems like the pump always runs at 100% when the pwm signal is at 40% minimum which is fine with me since at 100% it's inaudible for me and there's no rpm sensor for the pump (intended), it will only register the rpm of the fans connected with the daisy chained cable. Also there's no temperature sensor for the coolant which is unfortunate. The 3 fans that come with it are actually controlled with the cable coming out of the pump housing, the fans are attached with a cable coming out of the radiator near where the tubes meet with the radiator housing and that cable runs through the tubes and terminates with the pump cable. If you use the included fans then as long as the fan pwm signal has a minimum of 40%, the pump will always run at 100% which is what they intend.
I ended up just separating the included fans from the daisy chained cable, replaced them with T30 fans, daisy chained those fans together with their built in daisy chain system, and attached an extension on the last fan to the cpu header and then plugged the pump cable to the pump header. Is this the most visually appealing cooler on the market? No, but this thing performs so good with how quiet it can be. A lot of the other asetek coolers require the fans to be turned up much louder in order to keep up temperature wise. I'm not certain how the generation 8 asetek pumps will perform but it looks like they actually attempted to improve their design so I'll be curious how it performs to more proprietary pumps like what Arctic or EK has. Super happy with how this performs.
If you're using an LGA1700 chip and you look for a video on how to mount it, you might be confused that It's using the old version of the 1700 mount (kind of looks like a butterfly for the backplate) don't worry they actually updated the mounting kit so that it will fit in more cases so don't worry if it looks different (I think some fractal cases had some compatibility issues with clearance that was fixed with this version)
If you have a Lian Li 2 mesh case, I can confirm this has no issues with clearance with the thicker radiator with a front mount, also because the T30 fans im using are thicker than usual as well (30mm over the standard 25mm) it still has no issues with clearance. I am also using the HDD bay as well and still no problems with space even with my fans in a pull configuration (does require me to move it a bit to make space but no issues). I think push configuration is like 1-2C cooler not completely sure, seems to be pretty negligible temperature wise but the way the dust gets stuck with a push configuration is a pain to clean since I have to remove the fans to clean properly and the dust ends up stuck between the fan blades and radiator. Better to leave it with pull since removing the front and vacuuming the dust stuck on the front is so much easier and quicker.
This is the 3rd Liquid Freezer II cooler that I’ve bought. The first one was a 360mm version which I paired with my Ryzen system but I upgraded to the 420mm version. I donated the first one to a system I built for my dad which has a 12700k.
I was able to get an lga1700 bracket from Arctic for free but it took a month to get it. Now that the bracket is included, I don’t have to wait for it or spend $8 to get one.
What I plan to do with my 3rd 360mm cooler is pair it with a Core i9-7960x that I’m going to delid and then overclock. The 7960x & AC 360mm combo will replace an i7-7820x & H115i combo…with an EVGA x299 Dark motherboard.
Originally I had the AC 360mm paired with a Ryzen 3900x, but then I upgraded to the 5950x once I was able to order one. The 360mm version kills it with the 3900x and it was enough to cool a 5950x. I ended up upgrading to the 420mm version… in which case the temps stayed the same but the clocks were slightly higher.
The 360mm version is more than enough with the Core i7-12700k and there is a bit of headroom for overclocking.

Also the ARCTIC Liquid Freezer II 360 has a fan onto of the pump to keep VRM's cool too. Very nice cooler and happy that I've purchased it. It's all about function over bling, bling. If you like lights, they do have RGB models. It's the best AIO cooler out there in regard to quality, function and price. You also get a 6-year warranty too. Hard to beat this cooler.

SIZE MATTERS: I initially got the big brother of this cooler, the ALF II 420. If you were considering that vs this one, know this: the 420 is an absolute behemoth! Couldn't fit it into my Full Tower case any which way. Sent it back, got the 360 instead. Length and width are comfortably in the Goldilocks zone for mid sized case or larger. Check your clearance for the reassuringly thick radiator + fans if hoping to cram it into something smaller.
INSTALLATION/DESIGN: This does not come with any instructions. Instead, Arctic's website has videos on how to install for both Team Red and Blue CPUs. Whilst this is certainly better than those perplexing fold out diagram sheets that some others provide, I'm obliged to point out one IMPORTANT CAVEAT: The AMD video ONLY applies to AM4 series motherboards. If you have an AM5 series, as many considering this cooler probably will, then DO NOT follow that video as the AM5 installation differs. Dropped the ball at bit there Arctic! I found a YouTube video showing the correct AM5 installation... which, due to posting rules, I cannot link. It's in Czech. Don't worry if you don't speak it, just watch what he does, it's very clear. Once you know which way around the clips go, it's very easy. In fact, this is the easiest AIO I have ever fitted - and I've fitted a good few.
Unlike so many AIO's, this one can be installed straight out the box. The fans are already attached to the radiator and the fans are daisy-chained together. Instead of multiple leads for fans and the pump, there is just ONE connection for everything And, it runs discretely from the pump block to the CPU Pump Header nearby. Simple and tidy. Excellent design. If only all AIOs were like this.
PERFORMANCE: The attached Radiator fans are decent quality and very quiet. On first installation I had to look to check that they were spinning! As I write this they are at a leisurely 600rpm, and totally silent. CPU is 35 degrees.
When gaming--so far played Starfield, Stranded:Alien Dawn and some Kenshi--my modal CPU temp is around 55 degrees, and still, I cannot hear the fans. I do hear the pump whirring, quietly now and then, but only if the room is quiet. Setting the fans to turbo in the BIOS, they are certainly audible then, as you might expect. But... if they need to be on full speed to keep your CPU at a reasonable temperature, something is probably wrong. I have mine set to Standard - PWM in the BIOS. IIRC they only really ramp up at 70 degrees, which my CPU never seems to reach. So, very cool, very quiet.
PRICE: Despite it's excellent design, easy installation and exemplary cooling, this AIO is somehow much cheaper than it's competitors, making it even better value. Price, evidently, does not always equal performance. Some competitors go for as much as £175 and don't perform as well. No additional cost or RGB here either as there is none. A lot of AIOs market their pretty coloured fans and lovely pump block display but don't compete where it matters most, cooling, and this is where the ALF 2 shines brightly and quietly. To my mind this is the best AIO you can buy, bang for buck.
