This Love Hurts #2

But I Need You

Rate this book
Some love stories are a slow burn. Others are quick to ignite, scorching and branding your very soul before you’ve taken that first breath. You’re never given a chance to run from it.
That’s how I’d describe what happened to us.

Everything around me blurred and all that existed were his lips, his touch…
The chase and the heat between us became addictive.
Our nights together were a distraction, one we craved to the point of letting the world crumble around us.
We should have paid more attention; we should have known that it would come to this.
We both knew it couldn’t last, but that didn’t change what we desired most.

All we wanted was each other…

Willow started writing after having her little girl, Evie, December 2015. All during her pregnancy with Evie she continued to read and she only wanted to read romance. She was reading a book a day — sometimes two.

In January 2016 Willow was staying up late with Evie and just thinking of all these stories. They came to her constantly so she finally sat down and just started writing. She always wanted to do it so she figured, why not? Today Willow cannot be happier for making that decision!

If anyone finds my heart, please return it! It jumped out of my chest while reading this book! I haven't fully recovered.

Wow. Just wow.

The mystery, the tension, the action, the drama, THE CHEMISTRY. I've been waiting for this book and man was it worth it!

Marcus is the most intriguing character I've ever met. I long to know everything about him! What an enigma.

Willow has such an incredible way with words. I was drawn in from the very start and I've yet to let go of these amazing characters.

Not to be missed.

The eagerly anticipated book 2 of Marcus, my god ive been waiting so long to find out more about the enigma that he is, hes been around for a while, we first ' met him' in the merciless world.

Hes the cold shiver that runs down your spine and the deathly shadow that lurks in the dark but no one knows who he is...untill now

My god, I was gripped from the very first line, the anticipation of finding out more about Marcus was palpable throughout, I absolutely love him, I was on the edge of my seat, my heart was in my mouth, there were scene after scene that made me gasp with shock because you never see it coming.

What an amazing second book, everything we've ever known about Marcus has been bad, and it still kinda is but my heart is now firmly his.

Just when you think, surely it can get better, willow blows it right out the water.

Cant wait for And I love you most💜

Holy moly I’m just going to jump right into it. This is the fastest a book has ever sucked me into it.

All the little clues and tidbits of information on all three of these characters, especially Marcus, we just so mind boggling. I honestly had to sit and think over everything that was given to us and think about all the possible reasons that happened and outcomes that could follow. This book is a total mind fuck and I’m REALLY loving Marcus. A lot. I know I really shouldn’t like him as much, he’s a bad man, but I’m just so drawn to him and all the mystery around him. I also LOVE allllll of the sexual tension between Marcus and Delilah! Their sexy scenes had me fanning my face, boy are they hot, hot, hot!! This book went way above my expectations and truly blew me away! This is one of those books that sink their teeth into you really quick and don’t let you go until you finish. I’m shook to the core and I’m ready for the final book and to, hopefully, get all my questions answered.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I received an eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Holy This Is So Good!!! Marcus, Delilah Jones and Cody Walsh are back in book 2 of this trilogy. We get a little glimpse into who Marcus is and how he became the man...the mystery he is today. The maze weaved between these three characters is superb and I need more. What is Cody really hiding from Delilah. Can she uncover the truth of these two men or will she end up even more lost? A cold case from the past might have all the answers. This is a thrilling romantic suspense, love triangle that will keep you guessing. Of course this ends in yet another epic cliffhanger but fear not as there is only one book to go for all our answers. Be prepared to say “OMG, What?!?” Told in multiple POV

I love Marcus.
I feel sorry for Cody.
I feel confused when it comes to Delilah.

Delilah, when it comes to Marcus and Cody is very confusing. Like half of the problems she creates is all because of her indecisive decisions which I tried really hard to understand but I couldn’t. So the jury still stands regarding her character.

Marcus, I love him. I mean he is a stalker, which automatically earns him extra brownie points from me 🤤🤤. I loved his story and how he became “Marcus” even though I did figure out the plot twist regarding him towards the end.

Cody, I’m not attracted to his character unfortunately but I do feel really sorry for him and at the same time I don’t. Like he knew Marcus liked Delilah but he still kissed her, I mean it’s going to hurt when she hopefully chooses Marcus over him. But what can I say except KARMAAAA, for trying to take the girl away from him.......

Except for Marcus I wasn’t really intrigued or interested in reading about the other characters. However the plot of the book besides the characters love triangle is VERY VERY INTERESTING! and I can’t wait to see how the story will unfold in the last book!

Note: I was granted an ARC by the author in exchange for an honest review.

Another Note: Please Read In order: 1. Do You Want Me? 2. This Love Hurts. 3. But I Need You. 4. You Know I Love You/And I Love You The Most.

I honestly felt out of all the books in the series, this one made more sense and I liked the characters more, well developed and making sense with their backstories.

The writing was as usual, phenomenal, as always kept me going till the end. No complaints of boredom here honestly.

The characters were well fleshed out, although the dislike for the heroine remained, I felt she was a bit of a drag and at times a bit too impulsive with emotions and disregarding people, but still I did end up sympathizing with her. M was someone I liked definitely having more to read about. A total babe he was. The other character, eh, wish I could sympathize with, but couldn't.

The romance felt stronger with the other possible interest, but still a lot of confusions and complications.

Still it was a good novel, and I enjoyed it sincerely.

Hope you enjoyed this review.

Until the next read,

A 3.5 stars.

We get to read more about Marcus in this book. I kinda guessed who Marcus was so, it’s cool. And, apparently Marcus appears in her other books too? I got that from other reviews and now I kinda want to read more about him. I want to know all of his secrets!
And damn, this book was steamy! Delilah was okay, Cody was a lonely pup in this and honestly the only character I remotely care about now is Marcus.

Total time spent: 2hrs 38min.

What is even happening right now?! I have more questions than answers and someone needs to hold me! HOLY BALLS, what a tangled web …

I love that we get a lot more of who Marcus is in this book. It is impossible not to root for this guy! But, gaaah, for every morsel of information/layer we got, a gazillion more questions crept into my brain. This storyline is intoxicating and very well layered. It’s just so amazing! I finished just yesterday afternoon and I already want to go back to the very beginning to make sure I missed nothing! Amazing, I tell ya!

Well, Willow Winters, you have done it again!, my heart and head have been f*cked in each and every way to Sunday.

Where do I even start? I have been so eager to get my hands on this, and the moment I was able to read it, I devoured every word, and I feel like I've run a mile and I'm trying to catch my breath. I went into this knowing it was going to ruin me, and it did in all the best way.

This was full of thrilling suspense, mystery, "WTF" moments, and a whole lot of chemistry! My head was in so many directions at once trying to piece this all together and the moment I thought I had some answers, Ms. Winters comes along and throws me off course and shows me that nothing is as it first seems...

The drama, the tensions... All of it. It was all-consuming and addictive. I found myself having to put the book down for moments at a time to collect myself. My head and heart are still completely twisted into knots... But would I have it any other way? HELL NO... This is a prime example of why I love this author's work so much. Her suspense factor is always so high and I never know what I'm getting into and I love every damn moment of it!

This needs to be read from book one This Love Hurts, or for those of you that haven't started the Merciless World, what are you doing??? READ IT... you should totally start where it all began and that's with Merciless.

You will NOT be disappointed!

Worthy of more than 5 STARS!

This was EPIC, bring on And I Love You The Most!

I bow to Willow and her plotting skills. The twists and revelations in this book were something else. We finally got to understand Marcus a bit more with more details of his past coming up. Great writing and amazingly fucked up characters.

The story of Delilah, Cody and Marcus continues and for most of the book we are still left in the dark about whag their connection is really all about. There is more Marcus in this book which I don't mind at all because I LOVE him! Honestly, he is the most fascinating mysterious character ever for me. While I found Delilah a bit annoying in the first book, I enjoyed her much more this time around. It felt like she finally grew a pair of balls and starting to see things (or should I say people?) more clearly.

Great story line, great use of different POVs. Five stars!

P.S. #TeamMarcus 😆

But I Need You is Book 2 in This Love Hurts trilogy and cannot be read as a standalone. This book give us more of Marcus the long awaited anti hero finally shares some of his story and I loved getting more of insight into the man behind all the notes and intrigue, the angel of death himself.

The story is told between Marcus and Delilah and provided a rounded out view of their relationship developing, Marcus is opening up and secrets are coming out. The man himself finally reveals his identity and the revelation that one man has withheld the truth and the other has answered her questions with honesty, opens up a rift between Delilah and Cody that may never be closed. There were some great moments in this novel that built up the suspense, moments I didn't see coming. Willow's writing is great at building that sexual tension between Marcus and Delilah and that was no different here; however I felt one scene in particular was cut short and I felt a little bereft and confused about what did and didn't happen.

I found myself feeling a little like I was left hanging on several occasions as I read But I Need You, like I could see the peak of the hill but as I was almost there I rolled back down again. Meaning I don't feel like I was as invested in this book as I expected to be. Intensity built but then just fizzled out at the last second, questions were about to be answered and then something interrupted or cut the scene short. This may have been an intentional decision in writing style but it left me feeling a little unfulfilled in some ways. That said I am very curious about how the final book is going to bring this story full circle and connect all the dots. I am very happy we finally got to see more from Marcus and having his POV so dominantly in this book was refreshing and much needed.

Holy Moly, what a book!
This story was sooo much more than I expected when I started to read it.

This is the second book in this trilogy about Marcus, Delilah and Cody. But I need you shows us more of Marcus' past and present and tells us who he really is. Which honestly was a little shocking to me! His past is a really dark one and those flashbacks really got me breathing heavily. I needed to take a break after one particular flashback.

After the events in book one, Delilah is still trying to figure out what is going on. Her growing attraction for Marcus and love for Cody confuses her alot. Cody hides alot of secrets from Delilah which are starting to come to light throughout the book.

This story ends with a big cliffhanger and I can't wait to read the epic finale and to see how it plays out!

From the suspenseful and intriguing start in ‘This Love Hurts’, Willow Winters has managed to continue this epic trilogy and make it even more riveting and twisty with this new installment . Completely absorbing, heart-gripping and with such a cliffhanger ending that will keep readers on the edge of their seats, guessing and eagerly awaiting the last part.
The author very skillfully knits this web, drawing us into the story, masterfully mixing parts of the past and the present into a perfect blend that allows us to get to know the characters better. Cody, Delilah and Marcus ... the magic triangle is here again, but here the focus changes. The mysterious Marcus comes on the scene, unveiling his truth, the man who managed to intrigue all readers since Merciless is finally here in all his glory... We meet this prince of darkness, and seemingly it is simple to understand and choose our side, but the choice is not that easy, is it?
Prince Charming against the Dark Knight…both trying to save and win the heart of the Damsel in Distress…but can it be that simple?
The rules change, the perceptions are completely shifted ... right or wrong, it all depends on the angle you look from.
And let the games begin, question for question, touch for touch, one look and that is enough ... passion awakens, bodies surrender, but the darkness ... the danger is still here, lurking from a hidden corner.
You want to put the book down as to have more to read tomorrow, but you simply cannot, the only thing that you do is check HOW MANY DAYS until the last installment.
Definitely, an unforgettable book that will absorb you and grip your heart, crafted by this brilliant author that incredibly fast became one of my favorite. Highly recommended to every reader brave enough to accept the darkness, intertwined with numerous emotions and dizzying closeness to the characters.

“We do the things we want to do. It’s that simple. If it wasn’t already planted in the back of our minds, the seeds of the action wouldn’t exist.” 𝐷𝑒𝑙𝑖𝑙𝑎ℎ, 𝐵𝑢𝑡 𝐼 𝑁𝑒𝑒𝑑 𝑌𝑜𝑢- 𝑊.𝑊𝑖𝑛𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑠

After what feels like a lifetime of wanting to uncover the mystery of “Who is Marcus?”, we FINALLY get to uncovering the man in the shadows, the mystery that is Marcus. I should feel like I could let go now... only I can’t- because now I’m so in love with this broken man who very much a vigilante as he is a self-made 𝐴𝑛𝑔𝑒𝑙 𝑜𝑓 𝐷𝑒𝑎𝑡ℎ.

I’m beyond consumed by this book world and the enigma that is Marcus. He is undoubtedly the biggest antihero Willow Winters had ever written. Willow is a master at giving you what you want and then leaving wanting even more... Wow, just FREAKING WOW!! I’m well and truly blown away... and looking for the scattered pieces of my sanity! What an intensely thrilling read that will keep you at the very edge of your seat from the very beginning until the very end!

In this book, the tangled web that is Marcus/ Delilah/ Cody unravels just enough to draw you further until its depth. I would have like to feel a bit more angst from Delilahs’s POV but with depth and the complexity of the plot, I felt it in spades from Marcus especially.

Be prepared to fall deeper into this book world and I’m already counting down the days to the conclusion of this unforgettable thrilling romantic suspense.

4 THRILLING STARS FOR THE VILLAIN WHO BECOMES AN ANTIHERO!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book begins around 8% and ends at 89% but there’s a lot of story between those pages!

* THIS LOVE HURTS, part one, must be read first. This book is part of a trilogy.

The cliffy is nail biting

I’m officially committed to finishing this series. There are so many twists and turns.

Delilah’s life continues to be in danger. Delilah and Cody continue to see each other, kind of. Cody has men that are watching her in order to keep her safe. But these men are nothing for Marcus to handle 😈😉👀.

Yeah. THAT Marcus. The “serial” un aliver 👀. It might *seem* like it’s a bad thing, but… I can’t help but feel a certain way when it comes to Marcus.

Why?

The freaking tension, that’s why 🥵.

In book 1, he only kissed Delilah (a peck where he required her to close her eyes- and then he covered them), but that ONE kiss was very hawt.

Well, he ups his game in this one. And. Oh Lordt. I almost combusted 🥵🔥👀. He’s so confident. So alpha. So dominating, I don’t know how Delilah survives without breathing the same air as him 🔥. He knows EXACTLY what he’s doing… and he does it so well 😅😮‍💨😉. Go on Marcus. Keep trading with Delilah- “a touch for a touch” will never feel the same to me 🥵.

There’s family drama. Deaths. Murders. And I need to continue reading

⚠️safety squad⚠️
-no owd/sharing
-death/murder
-marital abuse (mom)
-child abuse/torture is recounted (not in detail but implied)
-cheating ish? Maybe? The h does stuff with OM who might be the H? This is definitely a love triangle now
-OMD- the h sleeps with one man (the H? From the previous book) and does stuff with the other man (he’s H2)
-no sex with H2 yet and the sex with H1 was off page (and has been so far)

I love this series! Willow Winters' atmospheric writing style makes it very easy to be swept away by the narrative. This book is quick-paced, suspenseful and full-on action. There are some twists I did not see coming, and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the plot unravel.

This second instalment focuses more on Marcus, and what a formidable antihero he is. I can't help but root for him, even though there is a small part of me that wants him to remain the villain of the Merciless Universe until the end. The dynamic between him, Delilah, and Cody shifts, adding even more tension to the plot. She finds herself torn between the love she feels for Cody and the desire that takes hold of her body every time she has an encounter with Marcus. With more secrets unfolding and clues starting to be figured out, Delilah will need to decide in whom to put her trust in.

Yet again Willow teases and caresses us with a momentous cliffhanger. This book is a delicious blend of suspense and romance with the emphasis on suspense, with twists and turns that set us up nicely for the last part of this saga.

Sheer, delicious torture!!

The love/lust triangle between Cody, Marcus, and Delilah is nothing short of agony and ecstasy! Willow Winters is masterful in creating a story of twists, turns, and drama that evokes such strong feelings as you read each page.

In book 2 we finally learn more about Marcus and Cody and I feel like the pieces of my little reader’s heart are finally coming together. I LOVE the merciless world and throughout each of the other books we’ve been given glimpses of who these 2 men might be and now we’re actually getting some answers. It’s like a balm to my reader’s soul!

This book kept me on edge with every word! It was even better than I thought it’d be. The characters are so complex and the writing is amazing! There is something truly special and unique about the books from Willow Winters and this one is no exception! I can’t wait to read the final book of this series. ABSOLUTELY MUST READ!!

I’m reeling right now. Delilah, Marcus and Cody such a twisted web of deception. Who do you trust? The man you love or the killer you should stay away from but can’t? Marcus has had his sights on Delilah since she walked into that barn when he was a boy.

So many emotions, love, lust, betrayal and trust. Usually the truth will set you free but the lies are what keeps you safe at night. You will not see the twist coming or maybe you will, but you better buckle up for this ride because you will be left speechless with more questions when you are finished. Amazing read an di can’t wait for the conclusion. I received a copy of this book.
