A Holiday to Sustain Us: A Magi Accounts Holiday (The Magi Accounts Companion Stories) Kindle Edition

4.6 4.6 out of 5 stars 579 ratings

One kiss under the mistletoe and now I’m hooked. I can’t get him out of my head… and I think I might like it.

Convincing my pride to have a holiday celebration was supposed to be a fun way to bring everyone together. But my plan went awry when my younger pride mate convinced everyone I needed a kiss. I hadn’t expected Ash to volunteer. And I certainly hadn’t expected him to kiss me on the lips and… linger.

Now, all I can think about is feeling his lips on mine again. Instead of planning gift giving and parties, I’m planning how to win Ash over. And what better way to convince him to spend time with me than to have him help me with my holiday plans?

The holidays are coming to the Ono-Nai house, and I only have one thing I’m wishing for this year—Ash.

A Holiday To Sustain Us is a fun 70K word MM urban fantasy companion story meant to be read AFTER A Purpose That Restores Us (The Magi Accounts 3). It’s from Charlie's perspective and takes place between books 3 and 4 of the main series. This is a companion novel, NOT a standalone, although the love story is resolved in this book.

Full content visible, double tap to read brief content.

Michele is married to an awesome guy that puts up with her and all the burnt dinners she makes—hey, sometimes characters are a bit distracting, and who doesn’t plot when they’re supposed to be cooking? They live together in Baltimore, Maryland with two little monsters, a three-legged princess, a four-legged goofball, and a cutie with giant ears (aka their two kids, their two cats, and their dog). She hopes to rescue another cat soon, and if her hubby wouldn’t kill her, she’d get more than one… and maybe a few more dogs as well.

She loves creating worlds filled with lots of love, chosen family, and of course, magic, but she also likes making the characters fight for that happy ending. She hopes to one day write all the stories in her head—even if there are too many to count!

Just so heartwarming and so cute. I loved this little story. I'm glad Charlie and Ash found each other and fell hopelessly in love.

This story is a serious departure from the intense action, danger, and drama seen in the main story line. It reminds me of something you’d see on the Hallmark movie network. 1.5 and 2.5 were only about 100 pages each, but this one is over 200 pages long. Meaning that Michele did not scrimp on the holiday cheer.

Sometimes, stories outside of the main plot progression of a series can be easily skipped. Since authors frequently put these sideline stories in anthologies that their readers might not ever pick up, the stories aren’t usually critical to the main plot. For example, I accidentally skipped 1.5 because I didn’t realize it existed. When reading Book 2, I knew I’d missed something, but it didn’t make a big impact. So the question is “Will skipping this story impact your ability to understand Book 4?” Probably not. However, so much stuff happens in this story that impacts the Ono-Nai pride, that I have to recommend that fans of the series read this book. Otherwise, you’ll miss all the cool Christmas presents.

What a great way to spend the holidays with Cos and Mads’ pride! This one is Char and Ash’s turn to get their HEAs. I love that it’s festive, sweet, no angst at all & we get to swoon.
Tater Tot and Licorice are perfect addition to the family too! And the epilogue, the best!!

A Holiday to Sustain Us is a phenomenal read. Definitely not a standalone, you must read the series in order to fully enjoy this wonder Holiday story!! A Holiday to Sustain Us hooked me and wouldn’t let me put it down. I have been waiting for Charlie to get his mate. He’s such a fun character to read. Ash was perfect for him. They were so sweet together and their banter was fun to read. I loved Charlie’s enthusiasm for the holiday, put me in the spirit! I freakin loved Charlie’s POV, his thoughts were so much fun. His zest for life! I loved everything about this story, left me with a mile. Overall, a fantastic addition to the series. I cannot wait for more in this world the author has created. Well written with addicting pacing!

OMG, Charlie and Ash were so freaking great together. I loved watching them circle ever closer to each other, seeing them grab hold of the joy life gave them brought all the feels. A really sweet holiday read.

This was a wonderful holiday interlude. I was expecting it to be a holiday short, but it’s much longer than I expected. We get to see Charlie and Ash grow to love each other and get to see more of the family/pride evolution. It was nice to have a bit less action in this one and instead get to see all the characters enjoying their downtime.

Charlie has always been a favorite of mine in this series and I was thrilled that he found his special someone. Ash was a bit fuzzier for me to see clearly, although he was obviously a sweetheart. Maybe not as vivid as the other characters in this series. Loved the Christmas festivities and the gift giving which was adorable. Looking forward to Jude’s story.

I loved this book so much. Charlie and Ash are perfect together. All of Ash's nicknames for Charlie are great. 😂 This series gets better and better with each book. And the addition of Tater Tot will melt your heart. The glimpse into the next companion story broke my heart and made me want to read it even more than before. Michele continues to amaze me with her stories.

I just cant get enough of this series. Charlie and Ash are just so cute together. With everything going on, and the abuse that Ash suffered, it’s nice that he gets his happily ever after with Charlie.

Charlie and Ash's story is simply beautiful. My heart got all warm and fluffy reading about all the amazing moments between them finding each other and sharing Christmas with their founded family. The story is about love, family, acceptance and how Holidays are meant to bring everyone together. It was a perfect glimpse to life in the pride, a sweet moment with all our beloved characters and in special, a little glimpse into Charlie and Ash's future. Loved it so much!

I really enjoyed the book. It was a nice book that showed the holidays as celebrated by Cosmo and Madeo's family as well as their colleagues and friends. The main focus was Ash and Charlie, which was interesting and sweet.

And all the love! I loved Charlie in all the other books and reading his happily ever after was wonderful. Compared to the rest of the series/world this is a sweet and love filled story with all the Christmas and Charlie shenanigans you could want.
We get a little bit more background on Char and Ash as they navigate their feelings. I really enjoyed this sweet interlude and hope we continue to 'see' these two and their cuteness in the 'main' storyline!
