Time is not money. Time is life force.
Are you consistently doing the work that you and only you can do? Or are you burdened by busywork, the bottleneck blocking your company’s profit and potential?
Your time is far more precious than money. It is your presence, your memories, your quality of life. As a business owner, you are already paying a risk and pressure tax. For many, growth fueled by added stress is not worth the trade-off. You have an urge to simplify and streamline.
Free Time is not about working as little as possible. Nor is it about creating a lifestyle business purely for one’s own gain. It is about creating a life-giving business energizing every single person who is a part of it, from the owner to team members, to clients and community. Free Time is about making small investments now to create greater optionality in the future.
A more joyful business is within reach. Imagine:
- Traveling, going off the grid, or handling family emergencies without panicking that everything will fall apart while you are gone.
- Working 10- to 20-hour weeks, delegating the rest to a motivated, part-time remote team.
- Answering questions with relief, knowing you don’t have to “own” the next steps.
- Empowering your Delightfully Tiny Team™ to answer their own questions before they even have to ask you.
- Harnessing your creative energy for the strategic projects that excite you most.
Jenny Blake, author of the award-winning book Pivot and co-creator of Google’s acclaimed Career Guru coaching program, is back with her signature blend of heart-based operating principles and practical tools. This book will teach you how to move from friction to flow through smarter systems and the three-stage Free Time Framework.™
Free Time is a playbook to free your mind, time, and team for your best work. This book will teach you and your team to operate efficiently and intuitively, while earning abundantly, so you can make your greatest contribution as a business owner.

A key idea of the book is, "Time isn't money, it is life force."
This epitomizes Jenny's approach to business: we don't have to hustle, grind it out, or trade time for money. There is a new way of working (and living) to create more joy and ease, and Jenny helps us to do so within this book.
One of my favorite chapters of the book is called, "What's Your Wifi Password?" This chapter invites us to think about the things we do over and over again (for example: trying to remember, and then find, our WiFi passwords - or, in my case, any passwords at all), and then thinking about ways to streamline them in order to make our lives easier. Simple, but brilliant.
In addition to the content within, the physical book is gorgeous: hard cover, spot color throughout, and the most incredible hot orange bookmark!
A great read that is packed with actionable ideas, joyful stories, and beautiful visuals. A book that I can't wait to revisit anytime I'm feeling conflict related to my calendar (which is often) or in need of a boost of inspiration around how to work smarter and in a way that feels more free.

What I love most about this book is how YOU it is — you have designed it and written it so thoughtfully and so clearly that it is a knockout. It's helpful to people on so many levels, and SO organized that I can go back and find exactly what I need.
I don’t know if I knew how much I needed this book. I usually read an entire book before having a guest on the show or inviting someone, but I am post-it notes and highlights deep in the ALIGN section that I think I’ll be reading and using this book as my map for all of the year ahead.
Thank you for writing this book.
If anyone out there is a stressed out business owner, freelancer, or creative entrepreneur, buy this book. This is a map for doing work differently, eliminating hustle, and beginning to implement systems in your business that create more time, ease, freedom, and flow.

Here are my three favorite takeaways:
1. I think I'm delegating enough. I'm not.
2. Instead of writing the same 3 paragraphs back to new customers when they ask me the same question, I should use an auto response. Better yet, I new use a "text expander" that auto populates those three paragraphs simply by typing three keystrokes. Wait, what?! Yes, really!
3. Whenever someone on my team improves a process, have them write it down in a process doc. If they get whisked off to Fiji, we want that documented for the next person. We shouldn't waste time and reinvent the wheel.
This book is warm, heart-based, smart, and practical. It drives home the power of delightfully tiny teams, and it's simply delightful in general.
