After 3 years the machine has broken and I see this model has tripled in price. I’m sad to see also the new models get very bad reviews so not willing to risk one of those. Maybe Tassimo is going out of business?

A few of my friends had gotten these type of coffee machines, so I decided that I would have to compromise my coffee snobbery and purchase one, as well.
Didn't take long to get used to the taste, and now I quite like it. Best of all: when I am ready/need a cup of coffee, I just put a disc in and press a button (sometimes I forget to put a cup in there, but there is a reservoir to catch the mess). It's very quick, and not as noisy as I expected, although it seems plenty loud when the rest of my family is asleep!
I don't like how small the cups of coffee are, that you get from each disc. I found some discs at Costco which produce 'extra large' cups of coffee, which are still less than the ones I was used to with my French press. With the amount of coffee from each of the discs, I am going through more of the discs than I had anticipated. This is definitely not the most economical way to make coffee. Also, I feel somewhat guilty over the tremendous amount of packaging, as it amounts to a lot of plastic over time.
Tassimo doesn't have as much selection as Keurig, and the T discs are more expensive than the K-Cups, but this is a product where you are going for convenience over economy and quality. I'm not sure how much I buy into the bar code, customized cup of coffee -- it seems like a marketing gimmick to me -- but I've enjoyed most of the different kinds I've tried. I found the cappuccino, made by Folgers I think, unexpectedly tasty.
The coffee this machine makes is also hot enough, which was something I wondered about, since you turn it on and press a button and it almost immediately starts spitting out coffee.
Overall, if you are looking for something convenient and don't mind spending more than with a percolator, then this is a good way to go. I rated this five stars not because it makes the best cup of coffee I ever had, or is ultra-practical, but because it does it exactly what it is supposed to do. It's not the machine's fault that it is barely less expensive than buying your coffee at Tim Horton's (good thing the machine itself is relatively cheap!).
Durable, have been using it for more than 2 years. Need scaling every 6 months to 1 year, depending on the usage. Scaling liquids are readily available in convenient stores for around $10.
UPDATE:
I finally found out what is wrong with why people are only getting "half-cups" of coffee, it is the type of coffee you are brewing, some are only the little fancy shots you get. like Espresso, you can get cups of coffee that are 8 oz cups, this makes a descent sized cup of coffee, Nabob and Maxwell House is the best bet to get for coffee, tried Nabob cafe creama, its stong yet smooth, still avoid the hot chocolate of any brand, it has an unappealing canned/processed taste to it.
