All coffee purchased from Metropolis Coffee Company is roasted to order, and we roast them under strict specifications by people who have roasted coffee for Metropolis for years, providing you with fresh, unique blends to enjoy.

Sourced with care

We purchase excellent, unique, vibrant coffees that tell a story. It is important to us that everyone involved in the production of the coffee, right down to the land itself, will benefit from the production and sale of that coffee.

Tested for you

When we receive a sample of raw coffee, we visually analyze it for defects, and then roast a small sample. We then cup (taste) that sample, scoring the coffee and analyzing the flavor notes.

Directions

Clean equipment thoroughly before each use. Purchase fresh roasted whole bean coffee. Grind your beans just before brewing. Use filtered or bottled water instead of tap water. Use 1 to 2 tablespoons ground coffee for every 6 ounces of water. Maintain a water temperature of 195-205 during brewing. Enjoy immediately!

I've been looking for a coffee bean with a strong chocolate note to replace my beloved but now discontinued Starbucks Guatemala Antiqua that I used exclusively for cold brew. This is the fifth or sixth bean that I've tried. On first taste, I thought it was great but then the back end taste kicked in and it isn't great at all. Seems very weak even though I cold brewed the first batch for 24 hours and the second batch for 48 hours. I will finish the bag because it is one of the more expensive beans that I've tried so not going to waste them. Very disappointing.
