From USA Today Bestselling Author Devney Perry, writing as Willa Nash, comes a stranded together, small town romance.

Kerrigan Hale’s personal life is about as exciting as a bucket of tar. With hard work and hustle as her steadfast companions, who needs romance or adventure? Her empire in Calamity, Montana, isn’t going to build itself.

For years, her mentor—and investor—helped make her dreams come true. Until his unexpected death put her fate in his grandson’s hands. A brazen billionaire, he seems intent on ruining Kerrigan’s life.

But if Pierce Sullivan thinks she’ll go down without a fight, he’s sorely mistaken. Pushed to the extreme, she drives to his ritzy mountain lodge to force the arrogant You Can Call Me Mr. Sullivan to hear her out.

No sooner does she arrive than a snowstorm traps her with Pierce. Stranded together for days, she’s in for the battle of her life. Pierce is nearly irresistible by candlelight. Without his suits and fancy cars, he’s almost human.

Except only a fool would let down her guard. And Kerrigan can’t risk her future. Not when she doesn’t know if he’s out to pilfer her dreams . . . or to steal her heart.

I really liked this book up until the last 20%. The conflict in the end is what ruined it imo.
I'll post this in a spoiler bc if i've read what was going to happen i wouldn't spent hours reading it.
This is an enemies to lovers story with a side of family drama. The h just opened a gym with an investor's money and when he suddenly dies in an airplane accident his nephew aka the H comes to collect the money thinking that she was his granpa mistress and golddigger. It turns out that his grandpa was just supportive of her dreams and wanted to help her. Also that same grandpa was having an affair with the H's wife and he caught them in bed and left her. They both died in the accident.
Before she died and he found out about the affair they tried for baby but couldn't have so that's why they tried surrogacy so he knew the whole time that he is going to have a child. This twist with the baby was thrown in in the last 20% after the H left, said goodbye to the h and ghosted her for 4 months.
Then he realized that he didn't want to live without her so he finally told her the truth. I thought that this was so selfish from his side and how he wasn't upfront with her when they both started to develop feelings. And she forgave him wayy to quickly and accepted everything.
I skimmed the ending bc i lost interest and didn't care!🤷‍♀️

Kerrigan and Pierce’s story started out as enemies to lovers and I was so here for that. I enjoyed this story for the most part and was really into it for a while. The twist at the ending came a little too late for me and I was so frustrated on Kerrigan’s behalf for not only being out of the loop with Pierce but with the treatment of her family. I did love the little we saw of Pierce’s friend/assistant and I’m looking forward to her book which is next!

Never in my life had I seen an angry woman I wanted to kiss so much.

The second I read about Kerrigan yelling at the sleek business man in The Bluff, I was immediately desperate for their story. I mean, can the set up sound more delicious? Small town romance, enemies to lovers, with a splash of force proximity. Yes, please, and thank you!

Kerrigan is exactly the type of heroine I love to read about. She's intelligent, fiercely undefended though slightly down on her luck. She took a loan from a mentor to follow her dreams, but then the investor died in a tragic accident and his entirely too handsome for his own good grandson is in town to collect on the debt. Suffice it to say they clash at first sight.

I love this series and I simply adore this author, and while I enjoyed this installment, it wasn't entirely my favorite. The romance was cute, but just a bit too insta love for my taste. Now, that's not to say that they get all gooey eyes the second they meet, because let's be clear, they hate each other, mostly. It takes months for them to get on the same page, but that happens off the pages, and so when they finally do get together, it feels quick. It was still highly satisfying, but I suppose I would have loved more of a burn.

That aside, I really enjoyed this one. Though I'd be lying that Pierce's sassy assistant Nellie didn't steal the thunder each time she appeared on the pages. And when we get more insight into her and Pierce's best friend? GAH. ALL OF THE NEED. But I digress.

While I didn't love every element of this story, I still enjoyed it quite a bit. It was swoony, emotional, with multi layered characters and plenty of heart. If you love small town romance, this series is simply not to be missed.

“How could I have thought we’d only need tonight? It wouldn’t be enough.”

Here we have Calamity’s budding real estate maven, Kerrigan Hale, finally meets her match in her brazen new & unexpected investor, Pierce Sullivan (her suddenly deceased investor & mentor’s grandson). It was lust & pissed at first sight…or at least I assume it was. It didn’t impact how I felt about the rest of the story, so it’s not a big deal, but tbh the opening reads like I missed a couple of pages. So the pissed part may have lagged behind 30 or 40 seconds 🤷‍♀️😂.

So yes, the romance on-page was kinda fast, but you know what? I’m not mad at it 🤷‍♀️😉. I know I’ve harped more than a time or two my preference towards slowburns & it’s a rather safe bet I will likely again. Nonetheless, the speed their romance evolved is one of the few cases it worked just fine for me. Extenuating circumstances helped ease the way perhaps. Such as thanks to his grandfather, they knew of the other awhile & were curious at the very least beforehand. Also Kerrigan’s persistence in their business issues wearing Pierce down. Both involved little to no face time, but they were in each other’s thoughts often while states apart. Plus WN/DP may have softened me up a little with good banter & one of my preferred tropes - forced proximity 🤔.

Once things got rolling romantically - not gonna lie, I enjoyed he couldn’t stay away from her. Not in the creeper sleeping in his car in front of her house for days, she needs a restraining order asap kinda way, but more the oh shit. not gonna say it out loud, but we both know it - she…just maybe…owns me…a little bit/can’t bring himself to ignore the pull between them kinda situation. Down the rabbit hole 🕳 Pierce goes falling for her(& Kerrigan is right there with him). Sure, mistakes were made that sourced some angst along the way, but I still really enjoyed both Kerrigan & Pierce, their romance & going back to Calamity overall.

Idk if this is a positive per se, but it’s worth noting. By & large, I am so bored with the billionaire trope, but WN/DP deserves her due here. Yes, Pierce could be pretty smug sometimes, yet managed not to cross the line into an insufferable god complex, unlike so many other billionaire romances. Nor did WN beat me over the head a thousand mentions he’s a billionaire.

So where’d that missing 1 star go? Well, several aspects tarnished some of the shine.

Especially without the first two issues from outside factors, The Brazen likely would’ve been at least .25 higher — if not possibly .5 — for me. It wasn’t on the h & H.

What’s up next/The Bully…
Initially, when I read the title, I admittedly was less than enthused. I’ve never gravitated to that trope. After reading this book, WN(DP) setup The Bully really well. Starting with, Nellie sounds like no victim & I’m thinking maybe whatever happened in HS was probably a bit more tit for tat, so I’m actually looking forward to it. Can’t wait to see the optics explained of the big fight Pierce broke up between them.

Beh, I did it. Idk why exactly, but this review felt like it took me forever to sort out 🤨. It took more days to figure it out than read it 🤦🏻‍♀️. Still not so sure about the review 🙈, but it’s done.

#1 The Bribe — 3.5 stars
#2 The Bluff — 3.75 stars
#3 The Brazen — 3.25 stars

i was annoyed by the “we like each other, but we cant be together” situation that the H & h had going on, but i also sorta appreciated it cause it gave their romance a bit of a slow burn feel. BUT THEN AGAIN, i was frustrated because all of it wouldnt have been necessary if the H had just grown a pair and be upfront from the beginning about what was holding him back from pursuing the h. he eventually did chase her (only because she stopped giving him attention and was trying to move on herself). i didnt like that the h gave in almost instantly. i mean, i guess theres no need to play coy and hard to get when theyre finally on the same page, but it wouldnt hurt to make the H sweat and work for her a little.

apart from that, i liked the H & h individually. the H is a billionire, but hes not arrogantly full of himself. i liked his friendship with Nellie, his secretary/assistant. i truly admired how passionate the h was with her work even when her family doubted her (which irked me) and people sometimes belittled her for it. on another note, the backstory with the H’s grandpa had me feeling a little icky. i had guessed the plot twist about the , and it didnt bother me (mostly bcs i liked the scenes with the three of them together). overall, a bit on the fence about the romance, but characters were great, and i enjoyed all the drama in this book even though they didnt exactly fill me with pleasant emotions.

This was absolutely delicious in every way!!!

Kerrigan had some real life issues that were forcing her to make hard decisions. I appreciated the way she chose to handle those problems even as I loved the overwhelming anger and frustration she felt towards Pierce. She was a heroine that also dealt with her family in a style that I could totally relate to.

Pierce had me waiting for his downfall right from the start. He had a preconceived notion of Kerrigan and watching him react to her was fun as I anticipated him learning he was so wrong about her. With the added bonus of moments of jealousy and possessiveness, he made it so easy to fall completely in love with him.

How to Add Texture to Your Walls with Textured Paint | MYMOVE

Pierce and Kerrigan’s angry back and forths were hilarious, especially knowing what each of them were secretly thinking and feeling about the other. That sizzling banter was hiding some serious chemistry that just simmered below the surface, waiting for the opportunity to burst forth. But holy heck, once it did...all restraint was gone and this couple lit the pages on fire!

I loved everything about this book. With an added epilogue to be downloaded, as well as the initial setup of the next couple, I’m full to the brim with all the feels that only a perfect romance can give me.

The Brazen is good. This is what I expected from Miss Nash/ Perry. The chemistry, the characters, the sexy times are well writen. So much goodness.

I like the characters. They both sizzle. What I do not like is the twist that Miss Nash/ Perry hiding from the beginning. Good thing she does not put heavy drama around it. Just enough drama to bring the story forward.

Overall a very good book.

5 'Snowed in' Stars!
ARC provided via Valentine PR in exchange for an honest review.

I’ve been loving this series from the very beginning, but Willa Nash has surprised me even more with The Brazen. I am a sucker for enemies-to-lovers romance and forced proximity romance and Willa delivered 110% with this one. I can assure you this book has become my top favorite in the series (so far) and I think you’ll understand why when you meet and get to the heart of Kerrigan and Pierce’s love story. From start to finish, The Brazen is an absolute winner!

This is the third installment in Willa Nash’s Calamity Montana series, and it follows the story of Kerrigan Hale, a woman born and raised in Calamity who is fighting to keep her dreams afloat. Kerrigan meets Pierce Sullivan, the grandson of a late beloved friend and Kerrigan's mentor who has been helping her achieve her goals, when he appears in Calamity to apparently ruin all her hard work. But Kerr is not giving up without a fight. However, what happens when these two get stranded together in Pierce’s cabin? Walls start to fall down and they are about to realize they cannot escape their true feelings for one another.

Everything about him elicited a physical reaction. How unfair was that? There weren’t many single men in Calamity. Why couldn’t I be attracted to one of them? Why did I have to feel this desire for the man trying to ruin me?

I.LOVED.THIS.BOOK. Period. I just truly love how this woman writes. She writes stories with relatable characters, not too much drama and a whole lot of heart. The Brazen is no exception to that. I assure you if you loved the other two installments in the series, you'll love this one too. As I said, for now, it is my top favorite. Why? Pierce and Kerr have a very beautiful connection. They try to hate each other at the beginning but it is so clear there is a whole lot of chemistry and tension between them. And when they get stranded together, they are forced to accept it. And boy! It was sweet, it was heartwarming and it was HAWT. I just loved these two together and I loved the turn the story took towards the end. Willa did a fantastic job with this love story and these two outstanding characters!

“You are beautiful beyond words.”
Her breath hitched. “Pierce.”
“It’s selfish of me to have you.”
“Not if I want you too.”

Therefore, I am rating The Brazen with 5 STARS because it just gave me all the butterflies with its sweetness and heart. Kerrigan and Pierce are such wonderful characters (as individuals and as a couple) and it was beautiful getting to read how they fall in love. This story just melted my heart and it was surely awesome to be back in Calamity. I seriously cannot wait to read the next installment (those teasers about Nellie and Cal, OMFG!) and for everyone to read this addicting series!

I have said it before but do not get tired of saying, I LOVE THIS SERIES. These books are written exactly how I like. There is always an overall storyline, the romance between the main characters but the best is the more...the underlying issues these characters may have with family, business partners, or others. There will be insights as to not-so-perfect relationships and life lessons to learn through reading these books. It truly makes a satisfying experience.

Kerrigan Hale always wanted to do more, not just work for the family car dealership.
She went to college, took business courses, and when she was able, she started acquiring properties in her hometown, Calamity. She met Gabriel Sullivan and he took her under his wing. He believed in her abilities, encouraged her to believe in herself, and backed a large loan for Kerrigan to purchase the buildings and home she renovated.

All was going okay, she had worked an extension on her loan with Gabriel during her last conversation with him. And then life was cut short for Gabriel and his wife with a terrible airplane crash.

Now we are there when Gabriel's grandson is handing a 30-day notice to pay up her huge loan. This is not making sense to Kerrigan and she is furious. Who is this guy, he is nothing like the grandson Gabriel use to talk about. This Mr. Pierce Sullivan is an arrogant, cold, unfortunately, good-looking man. Kerrigan tears up the letter and throws it in his face, on the street, in front of her gym/spa with all the town to see.

Great.

Pierce stood there being the asshat he was, stunned and hypnotized by this woman's mouth. It was perfect, with plush lips and the sweet color of peaches, all-natural. Oh, how he wanted to kiss them but instead he shook that off and remained the cold man she thought he was. Pierce didn't know the relationship this woman had with his grandfather, he could only imagine, knowing the type of man he was...he had learned first hand. So he had no charity for this Kerrigan, with that mouth, nope she would need to pay up, and then he would be done with her.

These two did have something in common, though...Booze...They both decided to nurse their demons with it and that activated actions both could not forget. The clock on that 30 days finally hits the mark and Pierce is back to close this outstanding loan. He needs to stop thinking of Kerrigan and move on.

Kerrigan tracks down Pierce at his grandfather's cabin with a plan to present to him regarding the loan. Mother Nature decides to help by bringing a snowstorm that causes these two to be locked in with no way out. Close quarters cause new discoveries and Pierce and Kerrigan end up not being the same people who started with this storm.

Oh, this book, so much happening and all of it good. There were surprises never hinted, confrontations between those who needed to hear what was said, and the type of love that is healthy, encouraging, and respectful. Everything I appreciate and adore. And Yup, hot times, too. :DDD

This series is like the energizer bunny, it just keeps going and going (yay) and I can say the next entry will be a doozy.

Willa Nash has done it again. I absolutely had the time of my life reading this book. The story has enemies to lever, for approximately and a single dad trope which I absolutely did not expect. I loved the story so much. I have always been interested in Kerrigan’s story so I’m glad that we got to see her as a character as well as her family dynamics. It’s always been hinted at throughout the other books so I’m glad we got to see it in full display this time. I love Pierce’s character seeing him go from this broody asshole, to a lovable family guy was everything to me. I absolutely adore the progression of the story and the dramatic moments as well. It always kept me on my toes I never knew exactly what to expect and I think that was a lot of fun for me.

It's soft and subtle like snowflakes, crisp and fragrant like mountain air. Written with lot of heart, brimming with passionate sentiments, I couldn't believe how I breezed through it so fast..couldn't put it down at all.
Adorable, endearing characters that own your heart the moment you open the pages and step into Calamity, Montana. Willa has branded the town into our souls, giving us one riveting and hopeful tale after another.

description

This time it's Kerrigan Hale's turn to find her true love. She's a Gabriel Barlowe protégé of sorts, being supported and prodded by him to spread her wings and fly high to achieve all her dreams. He's more a family for her than her own.

"He’ll watch me jump off a cliff because he believes I’ll fly. And I will. I will fly. But you’re so busy standing at the bottom, waiting to pick up the pieces, that when you finally look up, I’ll have already flown away.”"

And then the tragedy pulls the ground from right underneath her feet!!
I swear I sobbed with her, worried for her future which is now held hostage by the grandson. The abrasive and dashingly horrible Pierce Sullivan!!

"this was Mr. Sullivan. And maybe the man could kiss a woman dizzy, but that didn’t change the facts. He was enemy number one."

What follows is A battle of Wills, a clash of attitudes and a fight of ambitions, shaking up the entire town and Kerri's life into a Topsy turvy.
It's a testament to the sensitive writing of talented Willa, who's somewhat of an expert in small town romance. she keeps it fresh, keeps it novel every book.

Strong, creative Kerrigan is an ambitious, aspiring real estate magnate. When her investor, mentor and friend dies in an accident, his grandson Pierce turns up in Calamity to collect the money she owes him. Kerrigan stays persistent in getting an extension for the payment from an unwilling Pierce, which lands them stranded together in a cabin during a snowstorm. The rest is the story of how these two people give into their unexpected, explosive chemistry and navigate a relationship that seems impossible due to numerous elements in their lives.

Both of these characters are multilayered and mature. I loved Kerrigan’s creative side and her determination. Pierce is a wonderful character who has been dealt a bad hand but still knows what he wants and goes for it. I loved their connection and chemistry. The side characters too are written well and contribute just the right amount to this story.

The Brazen is the perfect small town story that has just the right amount of angst to make a lasting impression; sweet, heartfelt moments to make you swoon; family drama and life changing secrets to keep you hooked; and a satisfying happily ever after to make you smile.

4.5 Kerrigan and Pierce Stars

Willa Nash (Devney Perry) writes books and I devour them. I have yet to read a book by her that I haven't enjoyed, she is one of my most favourite writers and this novel was deliciously mesmerising from start to finish.
It easily reads as a standalone but the whole Calamity Montana series is excellent and I highly recommend it. This is Kerrigan and Pierce's book. We met Kerrigan earlier in the series , she is Calamity's budding business woman as she snaps up properties and flips them. Her hard work looks to come crashing down around her ears when her business mentor and financial investor dies unexpectedly and instead of Gabriel , she is dealing with Pierce , his grandson and he views things very differently to his Grandfather.

These two clash initially but despite the animosity there is a palpable sexual chemistry between them and circumstances (and a particularly mischievous friend /assistant- Nellie) , contrive to push the two of them together. If you enjoy enemies to lovers / forced into close proximity romances then this is the story for you. I may have been reading in July , but I was captivated by the whole snowed in theme.

For the most part I really liked Pierce as a Hero. I got why he behaved the way he did but his silence on one huge issue felt a bit brutal. Kerrigan is a very lovable heroine. She is driven , headstrong and yet still has a gentleness about her. With that said, Pierce pushes ALL her buttons and her frustration with him contrasted with his cool , controlled aloofness. I loved that she completely stood her ground and wasn't a pushover.

The secondary characters play a big part in the book. I adored Nellie and I cannot wait for The Bully , for the story of her and Cal. Now, that is going to be very interesting....

Cheating? No

This is one where the last half of the book hooked me. I struggle a little bit with enemies to lovers. But, I like the Pierce struggled with his attraction from the very start because when he goes all in, it's so much more believable. I really loved how much he had a hard time staying away from Kerrigan. I love devoted heroes!

This was 3.5 sweet stars. Normally I don’t care for billionaire romances, but the trope wasn’t relentlessly rubbed in my face. It was mentioned once or twice that he was a billionaire, he had a “cabin” in an exclusive gated community and a penthouse in Denver so…..
The other tropey storyline I really try to avoid at all costs is single dad romances. They are blek for me, this I didn’t mind so much. With all that I liked the story, the characters and I enjoyed revisiting Calamity Montana.

THIS SERIES!!!! First of all, Willa Nash (aka Devney Perry) writes the most heartwarming stories. I fall in love with all of her books. Just when I think she can't get any better - she levels up. Pierce and Kerrigan stole my heart. I read this book in 1 sitting. I only stopped to grab a bite to eat then I dived right back in. The Calamity Montana series just keeps getting better and better. I love this town. I love its people. Kerrigan is such a great character - she has so much sass and pizazz. She's tenacious, thoughtful, sweet, and driven. When Pierce sweeps into town and pulls the rug out from under her, threatening all she's worked for, she doesn't hesitate to give him the "what for" tongue lashing he has coming. I loved it. AND so did he. OMG do they have combustable chemistry! It's explosive and I adored watching them fight it. I cannot get enough of Willa Nash's stories. My ONLY complaint about this book is that it ended. UGH. I need more. If she could just give me a few hundred or so more pages of this delicious story I *might* be happy... but I would probably just keep wanting more. I cannot WAIT for the next book in this series!!!

The third book in Devney Perry’s (writing as Willa Nash) Calamity Montana series is a ‘stranded together’ romance between Kerrigan Hale, a young woman who’s been making a name for herself in Calamity with her entrepreneurial ventures, and Pierce Sullivan, grandson of her former investor and man who now holds her fate in his hands. Forced to make a case for herself as someone deserving of not being ruined by the brazen billionaire, Kerrigan drives to Pierce’s ritzy mountain lodge to confront him, but a snowstorm traps them together and leaves them stranded together. Whether she writes as Devney Perry or Willa Nash, this author continues to deliver characters that are unique, interesting, and easy to love, and this story is a perfect example of this. Kerrigan and Pierce's story might sound trope-y, but there is nothing about these characters' journey to one another or their personal arcs that is simple or predictable. The story is full of surprises, emotionally satisfying moments, and stellar writing, as always.

I love the world Willa Nash (Devney Perry) created in Calamity, Montana.
This one wasn't as good as the previous ones IMO, I missed that oomph. Sure it was easily readable and at times charming, but that first interaction promised so much more. The plot twist towards the end and billionaire trope is not my reading jam. Cal and Nellie- side characters stole the show here...here is to hope their story is another winner.

5 stars!

Devney Perry owns my heart – whether she’s writing as herself, or under her Willa Nash pen name, you just know that you’re going to get a great, small-town read that will make you fall in mad love, and she’s done it again with this book.

This is the third book in the Calamity Montana series, and is the story of Calamity native, Kerrigan Hale. Kerrigan has appeared in the previous two books – she is the owner of houses that both of the previous heroines lived in – and she is completely dedicated to building her own business empire, to the exclusion of pretty much everything else in her life. She’s making great progress, a lot of it with the help of her business mentor and investor, but his sudden death brings her dreams crashing down around her when his businessman grandson comes to town demanding full payment on her loan.

Pierce Sullivan is a self-made billionaire. When we meet him he seems to be a rich, grumpy, a-hole, and the last thing he wants is to be in a small town in the middle of nowhere, but he’s determined to wrap up his grandfather’s business, and that includes closing off Kerrigan’s financial backing.

Kerrigan and Pierce’s first encounter is bitter, and very public, with neither of them prepared to back down. But though things are snarky, there is definite chemistry between them, and when Pierce leaves town they are unable to forget about the other. Their run-ins continue as Kerrigan fights to hold on to her business, and Pierce refuses to back down, and it’s all very entertaining.

I needed her time, something she’d been asking of me for nearly a month. And to get what I wanted, it was going to cost me.
“Nellie said you’d be in Calamity tomorrow and wanted to meet,” she said.
… “Yes, I’d like a few minutes of your time.” Or an entire afternoon.
“Say please.”
I gritted my teeth. “Please.”
“In that case, no.”

But when Pierce returns to town and Kerrigan makes the trek up to his luxury mountain lodge to continue pleading her case, a bad snowstorm hits, stranding the two of them together for days. It’s such a great set-up, and I loved watching the back-and-forth between Pierce and Kerrigan. They are both smart, stubborn and feisty, and their banter is so much fun. But underneath all of their bickering, there is a raging attraction, and being trapped alone together gives them the opportunity to finally see the other as more than just a nemesis.

“Why can’t I stop thinking about you?”

They talk, they open up, they share about their lives and their experiences, and there is this epic sense of anticipation that had me tingling with excitement waiting for something to happen. And when it comes, the build-up was so worth it! It doesn’t take long before they fall into a wild, passionate and intense affair that is hot, steamy, and so full of feeling. I was feeling it all! They dive in, unable to hold back from the other, even though they both know that they will soon need to go back to their normal lives. But it turns out saying goodbye isn’t as easy as either of them anticipated.

He stepped in close, framing my face with his hands. There was restless urgency in his eyes. Like there were words inside his head clawing to be set free. It was much too soon for those kinds of words.
Still, there they were, swimming in his eyes. Swirling in mine too.
This. Us. There was something here.

That’s only half of this sweet, sexy and heartfelt story. There are twists, turns, and surprises I didn’t see coming, and I loved watching this story unfold. Please don’t go looking for spoilers, just sit back and enjoy it, because my mind was spinning with theories while I was reading, and though I had an idea of what was coming, watching it all play out the way it did was just perfection.

“You came back.”
“I did.”
“Why?”
He blew out a long breath. “For you.”

Pierce and Kerrigan are amazing characters. I love their strength, and I love that despite that, they are able to be vulnerable with each other. Though they are both facing huge challenges in their personal lives, there are no games or hiding when it comes to each other, they care for and support each other whole-heartedly, and I loved watching them come together so openly. Their honesty and the way they open up to each other is gorgeous, and makes for a beautiful love story.

“What do you want? Tell me what you want and I’ll give it to you.”

We get to catch up briefly with characters from the previous books, and though you could read this as a standalone, note that it does contain some spoilers for book #1, The Bribe. We also get to meet some fantastic new characters. I adored Kerrigan’s sister, Larke, and I’m hoping she gets her own book at some stage, and there’s a great introduction to Pierce’s Assistant, Nellie, and his best friend, Cal, who will get the next book. Their enemies-to-lovers story is going to be so good!

I loved this story. It’s sweet, it’s charming, it’s sexy and romantic with great characters and a lot of heart, and it’s just a genuine, small-town, feel-good love story.

Such a gorgeous read – 5 stars!

This series is SO my jam! We're three books in and I still can't get enough. After finishing, The Brazen, I was immediately looking ahead to the next book in the series.

In this instalment of the Calamity Montana series, Kerrigan is the heroine. She made an impression in book one as a savvy businesswoman and I was so hoping to see her get an HEA. She's a really great character who fights for what she wants and I'm so pleased she got the story she deserved.

Here's what I loved:
Pierce is an uptight, snarky, hardass who doesn't know what hit him when Kerrigan reads him the riot act at the end of book 2. Luckily, this book picks up right where that one leaves off and we get to see their story unfold from beginning to end.
The instant attraction Pierce feels for Kerrigan as well as the lingering resentments he has, make for an interesting story with great chemistry.
These characters are completely differently, but share common values of hard work and having a go getter type spirit that make them super compatible.
The story is sweet and sexy. It paced well and has a tiny shocker that I never expected.
Once the romance progresses, Pierce's all in vibe is so hot. I loved how protective he was of Kerrigan with her family.

Overall, this was a quick read that ticked all the boxes for me. Recommended!

Lord almighty but Willa Nash knows her way around my heart. She dialed right in, delivered all my favorite bits of romance novels, and swept me completely off my feet. The Brazen was a compelling, enchanting, delightfully swoonworthy story and I devoured it like the decadent heart candy it was.

There was so much to love about this book. The explosive "meet-cute" which sparked the chemistry between Pierce and Kerrigan that sizzled throughout the entire story. The enemies-to-lovers storyline which rang true, even as Pierce and Kerrigan caught feelings and all that chemistry flared into something so much more pretty quickly. The pacing was relatively fast, but it also worked perfectly for me. I adored how Pierce loed and supported Kerrigan's fiery spirit, and I loved how Pierce softened her sharper edges. They were utter perfection and ungh it was just so amazing to read!

There were some twists that I didn't see coming and each twist tugged at my heart in a different way. These twists also made me love these characters all the more, each one prying open my heart until it basically belonged to these characters and their fantastic love story. Once they got together, Kerrigan and Pierce formed a steadfast team that was inspiring to read. Like, I'm head-over-heels for the way Pierce loved Kerrigan. I am completely smitten with the way he went all-in and how he managed to pull off the alpha protective vibe while still empowering her to blaze her own trail. And, of course, I loved how Kerrigan returned that devotion to Pierce and how absolutely heart-melting this story was at time. I think there were a few chapters where I was nothing but a giant, slightly weepy heart eyeball - reveling in the beauty of this story, and wholly in love with everything about it.

Willa Nash is a powerful storyteller and The Brazen is another absolute smash hit in this series that has won me over in ways I absolutely was not anticipating. It's so freaking good and I'm already beside myself with excitement for the next one! ~ Shelly, 5 Stars

This is my favorite one in the Calamity Montana series! I was so excited that Kerrigan was getting her own book and it exceeded my expectations!! We got a glimpse of this real estate/DIY entrepreneur in previous books and she seemed very “all work and no play.” But play she does in this book!!

And speaking of “all work,” we meet Pierce the new owner of her business loans who has come to town to collect. When they get snowed in together the sparks fly and the chemistry is off the charts!

There are a couple of twists and turns that I did not expect in this book and they just add to the well-roundedness of the story.

Kerrigan’s family (OMG! There are so many of them!) plays a big role in this book. Their opinions on Kerrigan’s decisions and relationships seem to be the only ones that matter. One of my favorite parts of the book was when Pierce stood up to them on her behalf. Finally it felt like someone was in her corner.

Despite my frustration with Kerrigan’s family, I have high hopes that some of her siblings will get their own happy ever afters in future books.

Loved this one!

I received an advance copy of this book from Valentine PR and these are my honest opinions.

Love Devney Perry's books. Probably the Queen of small town romance for me ( among a few others).
This is Kerrigans and Pierce book and the 3rd one in this series. I enjoyed it,but could have been way way better. Forced proximity/stranded together plus a splash of enemies to lovers is one of my favourite tropes, it was just done mediocre here. Super super rushed everything about the book and the plot. Nothing of that burning anticipation when two people that only went head to head will clash when force in a space together. Overall ,this was just anticlimactic, but the characters did have a few treats did I liked. Kerr being fierce and independent trying to build something for herself. Pierce admitting his mistakes and owning up to them, plus his softie side was sweet.
Secondary characters are always a plus especially if are love characters from previous books.

I absolutely loved The Brazen. I swear every new couple and book I read in the Calamity Montana series becomes an instant favorite. Kerrigan and Pierce were the best. I loved their ups and downs and couldn't wait to find out all of Pierce's secrets. I felt so pulled in, ignored everything around me, and devoured this. I loved it!

I loved Kerrigan and Peirce. She was a strong, determined woman who fought for what she believed in and worked hard to make something of herself. I liked learning her history and where she was at in life, it was touching and emotional. I enjoyed learning Pierce’s history too and the building hints of what he was holding back. In the beginning, there was so much animosity between these two, they had fiery banter and great verbal sparring. I loved them being stuck together in close proximity and how they softened to one other, opened up, and shared. I love their guards coming down in the midst of trying to fight an undeniable attraction. I thought their chemistry was off the charts and they had an amazing pull to one another.

There was a great cast of characters involved. I liked learning about Kerrigan’s family and their dynamic, and the drama that came along with it. There was so much tension involved but I loved the build to them working it out. I loved Pierce's assistant Nelly and liked meeting his friend Cal. These two are like fire and ice so I am excited for their story in The Bully. I loved seeing how other characters from the series were woven in as well.

This was a detailed, well thought out story with picturesque descriptions. There was a wonderful balance between the drama, emotion, and heat. I loved that this story didn’t reveal its secrets all at once and that it had me guessing, I couldn’t wait to find out everything. It made for the best build! It was so sweet, heartfelt, and precious and I love how it played into the story. There was a wonderful epilogue that totally choked me up as well. I loved seeing where everyone was at and how loose ends were tied up.

This was a fantastic story and an excellent addition to the series. The Brazen was sweet and sexy and made me melt. An exceptional read!

3 🌟

It was okay, the first like 20% was really good. Their banter and enemies phase was great. However, I quickly realized I did not like the female mc. Everything was “what about my dreams, I don’t care that I’m broke, have to rely on my parents for a car and food, and for them to be free employees at the businesses I feel I’m entitled to. This is my dream and I deserve it even though I’ve done nothing but rely on everyone else for it” the only person who called her out on her Bs was her brother… and then the author made him out to be a bad guy and made him apologize for it.

I also don’t like when there is a time gap and then a rushed resolution. If you’re going to split people up for months then the resolution needs to take awhile.

Overall, I didn’t like any of the side characters besides Nellie and Larke. And Larke sounds v familiar, so honestly I think I’ve read a stand alone for her already. So, if there isn’t one for Nellie I won’t continue the series.
