Hercules DS510BB Trumpet / Cornet Stand w / Bag

Excellent stand. Very sturdy & stable. Light weight. Size is great when using for pit orchestras. Gets the instrument "off" the floor which is miles ahead of other trumpet stands. Highly recommend!!!!

Music background: Trumpet player with swing bands, combos, brass quartets, church musician, musical theatre pit orchestras, & symphonic concert bands. Former music educator both in public schools and privately.

Good but scary

Folds up nicely, solid feel, and fits my need for my horn with a mic clipped to the bell. The bell flare support thing adjusts up and down the main shaft. But … only 3 short legs. With a trumpet sitting up high there, easy to topple. Any nudge getting it a bit beyond vertical, and … timmmberrr!

The trumpet stands alone.

I like it. I like it more in principle than in execution. The stand is constructed in the expected, heavy-duty, durable way in which Hercules products are prone. It folds nicely and has a bag. The downside, that I have seen in other reviews and can not concur with: it could be more stable (i.e. have a wider base/longer legs). If it is on a table top, great, but don't put the horn up at the highest possible position and it is reasonably stable. On the floor, it will topple if someone brushes it (I would surmise). I like it. I'd love it if the legs were longer. Of note, my trumpet is not made of lead or granite and is the weight of the standard trumpet one might envision when making this purchase. So close to a really great thing.
