This product is amazing! My son and I enjoy playing w/ this almost evening. Something to be aware of tho. Anki went out of business and Digital Dream Labs is picking up the slack. Since the stock is a couple years old the batteries in the cars have went bad they are cheap and easy to replace if you know how to desolder

Wonderful cars but some DIY repairs are required

The car set is great concept and design is nice. The batteries in the cars are depleted and won't hold a charge more than 1 minute of play time. Luckily I know how to solder new batteries into the cars. I'm hopeful they will be tons of fun after the new updated batteries. I can't recommend this item to anyone not tech savvy enough to size the new battery 601417  and how to replace them.

Expect dead batteries when purchasing.

Should have seen the reviews before ordering, It is such a cool toy, but the first package came looking like used with dead batteries. So initiated a return, the new one was completely sealed but came with dead batteries as well. Looks like i will need to order batteries on ebay and fix it.

Disappointed

The track and the system seem amazing.   I wouldn't really know though since the batteries for the cars didn't last more than 30 seconds no matter how long they were charged for.   I was able to find replacement batteries on ebay for cheap ($5/ea) so I plan on replacing the car batteries, which requires soldering, not just a "pop in".   I hope it's awesome after that but for now, it's literally unusable.  My son was so bummed after we set everything up to learn that it couldn't be used.

Sweet product but DEAD BATTERIES - Unusable

I am not sure if it is just me or everyone but the cars doesn't hold charge even for 4 rounds of race. You need to practically charge it for every race. So you charge it for 10 mins, do a race of 30 sec, and charge again for 5 mins. you need to take care of lint on tires too.

The kit is pretty neat but it is very old and as such the batteries in the cars do not hold up more than 30 seconds if you are lucky. I reached out to Anki (New Owner) and was told that I could send them in for $10 to have them serviced. I will probably do that but it is difficult to know if it is even worth doing given that I have not been able to complete a single race.

Cool! Buyer Beware of battery age.

My grandson was excited to see it and disappointed when it didn't work.  We put the two cars on the charging pad, only one would charge.    We downloaded the the app on to 2 devices the charged car wouldn't move   My son and son-in-law, both tech savvy guys could not get the set to work at all.      After about 90 minutes it went back in the box.

I order first item in December holiday season, received defective item (batteries not holding charge). After many days follow up with Anki Drive Finally I decided to replace item and requested replacement to Walmart on 5th January, Item was backorder. Walmart kept it on queue and as soon as it was available the shipped replacement.

Replacement is also having same issue, searched on internet and found "many other users are also facing same problem as these product are 3 year old (Manufacturing date is 2017) and loosing it's batteries".

I don't recommend to buy this item.

Both vehicles had dead batteries on arrival, as others have said. There are YouTube videos showing how to replace the batteries, a process requiring a soldering iron. My grandson really wants to keep this set so I have chosen to try replacing the batteries instead of returning it. The company stopped production of these sets in 2017 and the company that they sold to in 2019 is no longer providing product support.

Pros : concept is great and execution was flawless. Making video gaming like experience with real physical cars. Packing was good too. 

Cons : these units are over 4 yrs old and really none of them hold charge for more than 30 secs. Literally in a demo mode with no connection with mobile these last 20 secs. If you can solder, be ready to spend another $20 to fix cars plus void any warranty.
