Excellent SFF PC case, which came with a minor defect

Excellent SFF PC case, which came with a minor defect
This is an excellent case, and one of the few mainstream and affordable small form factor PC cases. Its major relative compromise is the size, which is close to as large as "SFF" gets. The case is also heavier than most SFF cases, being mostly made of steel, versus aluminum or plastic. However, it has nearly no size or cooling limitations in its class. Aesthetically, it follows the general SFF PC trend of minimalist design. Anything I have planned for my build, be it the largest GPU I can afford, or adding some old 3.5" hard drives to my system, are possible in this case, which is easily transportable, though not quite backpack portable. I won't spend much time talking more about the positives of this case but I'll highlight some of my gripes, which should not be deal breakers, but ways that Cooler Master can improve the case without reducing its capabilities.Though the NR200 can accommodate almost any ITX hardware, its layout design is not completely perfect. I would have appreciated some gaps in the frame or motherboard area for routing cables behind the motherboard. One of my PSU cables is routed between the motherboard panel and the case's right side panel (when looking towards the case), but it's the flat kind which raises the case's side panel ever so slightly. Others with round or quality braided cables looking to route their cables behind the motherboard without raising the side case panel will need to route the cables in the gap between the motherboard and the motherboard panel. Unfortunately, they will need to do this before installing the motherboard, and uninstall the mobo every time before disconnecting. Some extra spaces or gaps that allow the cable connectors to slide through would have solved this problem. Another gap for the 24 pin connector would have improved quality of life a little, too, though I'm not sure if that would be possible in a practical spot. Having the thick 24 pin cable extending from the PSU in its default position can press down on the GPU without some careful cable management. Fortunately, Cooler Master provided some velcro straps underneath the PSU that help with this a lot, likely because they anticipated this problem for most consumers. Still, I can tell that Cooler Master intended this case to be as easy as possible for beginners, and neat cable management and avoiding pressure on the GPU will likely be a fairly difficult step of building in this case. Finally, the case could perhaps use some lengthier front I/O cables, so that they could have been routed behind the motherboard without blocking the PSU fan.Speaking of front I/O, I would have also preferred a USB type C connector on the front. I can understand that it was not included due to cost, but I would prefer a version of the NR200 with a type C port and no fans, and likely would have even paid $10 more for that tradeoff. My version of the NR200 is the base version which comes with one 92mm fan and one 120mm fan, and the included fans are fine; not exceptionally quiet but not annoyingly loud. Still, I might replace both of them with Noctua fans to get the quietest possible airflow, and the 92mm fan will definitely not fit when I upgrade to the CPU cooler I plan on getting. Though Cooler Master included fans to appeal to customers who will use stock coolers and don't want to worry about aftermarket cooling solutions, they still have an opportunity to cater to more enthusiast consumers (who constitute a large part of the SFF community). Many SFF builders will either not need the included fans, or prefer to choose their own. They likely also prefer having near to mid-term future proof features. A version of this case without fans and a type C port, offered at a small premium, would still be a great deal.My unit also came with a minor defect - the metal frame (not sure of the correct term) of one of the USB ports at the top is not completely connected. The end of the metal frame is bent inwards slightly as shown in the picture. I haven't encountered problems while plugging and unplugging USB devices, albeit carefully, into the jack multiple times over the past couple of weeks, so I didn't deduct a star or try to get it replaced. I'm optimistic that it'll stay as-is and not get bent worse over time. If this is a problem in manufacturing, hopefully Cooler Master can address this issue.

You can remove the side and front panels without a tool and the top and bottom are held with a single screw. Its incredibly customizable. It also comes with two fans. I recomend you keep the one 120 mm fan and buy three more so you can get a pretty good airflow setup (two bottom intakes and two top exhausts)

This SFF case works great when desk space is valued. A literal DeskTop. The magnets are strong and I often forget they are there when I open the case for dust maintenance. Mesh is nice for airflow and have not had any heat issues so far.

To start off, if you are between the NR200 and the NR200P do yourself a favor and get the NR200P. The glass panel is of incredible quality, and the double 120mm fans are worth the little bit extra. This case is amazingly flexible, and nearly every piece of it can be disassembled or moved out of the way to aid in building the SFF rig you've dreamed about. Despite being SFF it can house virtually any GPU on the market today. It can mount radiators, extra fans, multiple SSDs, you name it.

So what is wrong with it? Well, that would be Cooler Master's absolutely complete lack of customer support. The NR200/NR200P include small plastic clips that retain the push-pins found on the side panels. These plastic clips are apparently very notorious for breaking easily. I broke one and emailed Cooler Master customer service for a replacement, and was directed to create an account at their "Fanzone" website in order to receive actual support. Well, their Fanzone website system flat out DOESN'T WORK. Once you've created an account and try to log in, all you'll receive is an error that states: " 很抱歉, 目前Facebook驗證失敗, 請檢查您的Facebook帳號, 並再重新登入.
Sorry, Facebook verification failed . Please check your email linked to your Facebook account, and try to login again." I DO NOT HAVE A FACEBOOK, nor did I link a Facebook account when I created my login for Fanzone. So buyer beware. Once you've purchased this item YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN if anything happens to it.

Update 03/19/2024 - After some back and forth, I was able to get a replacement clip mailed to me free of cost by Cooler Master. Though it took some effort, Cooler Master stood by their product and replaced the broken part.

There seem to be two different versions. I got the NR200, which seems to be newer. All the materials are solid metal. Includes two very quiet fans (90mm and 120 mm). The mounting location for the power-supply is odd as you can't get to the on-board hard-switch after the power supply is installed. The installation locations for the 2.5" and 3.5" HD is also odd and not intuitive.

I installed an Asus B550I mini-ITX mother-board with a I7-11700K with low-profile cooling (Noctua), two Noctua 90 mm case fans and the 120 mm case fan (included), two 2.5" SSDs and a GeForce 1650TI video-card. A three-fan splitting cable was included. The ability to install a 2-slot video-card was the whole reason I got this case and for that purpose it has worked well.

After it was all installed it looks great and performs well and the vented panels are easy to pop-on /pop-off and allow access all around. I expected more ports on the front (USB-C for example). Also no way to install an internal CD /DVD /Blueray drive.

I used this to build a new system after working with a Node 202 for many years. What a change. There's actually room to work in this one. Amazing! It looks great, too. Oh, and it will fit a Scythe Mugen 5 cooler even though pcpartpicker says they're not compatible. It lies! Great case. Easily recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Top Mounted Silverstone Slim 240 AIO with MSI 4090 Suprim Liquid Side Mount!

- Coolmaster NR200P ITX Case is a great choice for small form factor (SFF) builds
- It has enough space for a powerful CPU and GPU with liquid cooling options
- The case is well-designed and easy to work with, as long as you plan ahead and follow the instructions
- The case looks sleek and elegant, with a tempered glass side panel and a mesh top panel
- The case comes with two fans and a riser cable for vertical GPU mounting
- I'm very happy with my purchase and I recommend this case to anyone who wants a compact and powerful PC
- I'm a SFF fan now and I don't think I'll go back to bigger cases anytime soon!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great case. Fits an RTX3070 with no problems

Its fairly easy to build in it and there’s a fee good places for cable management.

It’s parts seem high quality and overall seems sturdy.

An RTX3070 fits great and has just about enough room at the bottom (underneath the gpu) for 2 slim fans.

5.0 out of 5 stars CM has done great job at creating Itx case

The case requires sfx power supply. There is space to load any twin fan graphics card (can also be mounted vertically, but only two pcie slot available)so its better than CM's previous attempt of h100. Cooling is good. Modular design is plus point. Heavy panel at front. Cleaning is easy due to magnetic mesh and tool less removable top panel. Can fit 4 fans and 2 additional fans on side panel is space managed properly. I vould fit a ssd and a 3.5 hdd. Adding graphics card will occupy two hdd slots on panel.
