Publisher's summary

In a delightful follow-up to Written in the Stars, Alexandria Bellefleur delivers another queer rom-com about a hopeless romantic who vows to show his childhood crush that romance isn’t dead by recreating iconic dates from his favorite films....

Brendon Lowell loves love. It’s why he created a dating app to help people find their one true pairing and why he’s convinced “the one” is out there, even if he hasn’t met her yet. Or...has he? When his sister's best friend turns up in Seattle unexpectedly, Brendon jumps at the chance to hang out with her. He’s crushed on Annie since they were kids, and the stars have finally aligned, putting them in the same city at the same time.

Annie booked a spur-of-the-moment trip to Seattle to spend time with friends before moving across the globe. She’s not looking for love, especially with her best friend’s brother. Annie remembers Brendon as a sweet, dorky kid. Except, the 6-foot-4 man who shows up at her door is a certified Hot Nerd and Annie...wants him? Oh yes.

Getting involved would be a terrible idea — her stay is temporary and he wants forever — but when Brendon learns Annie has given up on dating, he’s determined to prove that romance is real. Taking cues from his favorite rom-coms, Brendon plans to woo her with elaborate dates straight out of Nora Ephron’s playbook. The clock is ticking on Annie’s time in Seattle, and Brendon’s starting to realize romance isn’t just flowers and chocolate. But maybe real love doesn’t need to be as perfect as the movies...as long as you think your partner hung the moon.

Cute

Easy listening, with adorable characters. Even the predictable drama was not as bad to go through. Looking forward to listening to the next book.

Sweet But Slow

This story over all is very sweet. It is however the EPITOME of a slow burn before they even get together. It dragged the story out and they barely got together before they separated again. Meh

One review said this was “porn” in book form and I highly disagree. The book has one descriptive sex scene and some scenes where they come close. There is some searing also.

It’s very much a love story in romance book format.

This is narrated solely by Lauren Sweet. She is very talented and I enjoyed her narration

Great story, iffy audio narrator

Loved the story, but the narrator mispronounced the main characters name so many times it was distracting. Kept flip flopping between “Annie” and “Amy”

Criminally underrated.

I remember listening to this and being shocked at the reviewer count. As a guy who’s normally more into sci-fi and fantasy and rolls his eyes at most romances on the shelves, this one was an absolute diamond in the rough. Well-developed characters backed by an amazing performance by Ms. Sweet and a classic story of a too-fast meeting of chemistry.

My only complaints were that there could have been a little more variety in characters (it was a little hard to keep track of the girls considering there was only one major male character) and the catalyst for the ending was a bit hilarious to take seriously. Everything else was amazing enough to prompt me to leave a review!

Slower start but overall good

So I read written in the stars and loved it and had to read this book too. I’m not gonna lie it was a bit slower and kind of cringing in the beginning with just some of the dialogue but got much better later on in my opinion and then I was hooked.
