My only gripe is that you have to buy the PV Jr. Speed Control separately (model 239). The speed control is a much better tightening mechanism than what comes with the 203 and really speeds up opening and closing the jaws.
The old saying "you get what you pay for" comes to mind when describing Panavise products. They may cost a little more than what one might expect to pay for the cheap-made-in-China crap foisted upon the average consumer but they come with a lifetime warranty and are definately high quality tools.
I'm just mad that I didn't find out about Panavise sooner. All my other 3rd hand tools are going in the garbage!
In my box I also found a 239 Speed Control Handle - a pleasant surprise.
Cannot confirm the "not made in the USA" review - I own other Panavise products, and the 203 Jr. I got is exactly the same good quality - strong, reliable and helpful.
203 Jr. does just fine. Don't waste your time on the cheap stuff. You'll wind up getting a Pana Vice anyway.
It's slow to adjust, but the speed control handle improves the situation, especially if you use a short rod through the finger hole as a makeshift winding handle. I agree with other reviewers that they should have continued to include it, especially as it's just a cheap piece of plastic - I'd rather have paid an extra 50c to have the handle included than five times that to have it shipped later. An even better improvement would be real winding handle.
