i've kept the bandsaw always in my garage, and the top is rusting. i've taken pretty good care of it, so i'm surprised to see the rust. also, i've never been able to get it cut straight with the blade that came with it. i've tried adjusting it in a several ways, following youtube videos, but it doesn't cut straight. it's good for some simple cuts, but i'd prefer not to have it just for that, as this one can't be used for resawing for example, since it doesn't cut straight.

I received this saw as a Christmas Gift a year ago and was very excited to put it to use in my shop. Circumstances were such that I was only able to put it through limited use until recently. Initially I was very happy with it's performance. All that changed. The throat height adjustment knob popped off and the design is such that it is virtually impossible to fix. This has led to a destabilization of the throat plate that renders the saw useless. Usually I find WEN products to be pretty good but this particular saw is not one of them. I only wish I could have used the saw more earlier and been able to return it.

This may not be the big boy I wanted, but I am very happy with it none the less. Great value for your money. Even if I had my dream bandsaw I would keep this one too. Out of the box it's true and centered. I havent had to adjust anything. Pretty cool, although probably not the case for everyone. Wen continues to impress me and this is a great example of why. The 6" throat is top of class and the price is very fair. Hearing the sound of a bandsaw running in my shop has been a great feeling, and long overdue. I dont feel like I had to settle with this saw at this price. If you are looking for a smaller saw, this is it.

Update after lots of use:
I love this saw. Been doing great with max depth cuts on walnut even. Go slow and treat it like a smaller saw. The first blade change took a minute to sort out the balance between tension and tracking, but its easy now. Once you get the hang of it, it shouldn't be a problem. The fence has been working well too, have not had any issues with stability or slipping. Very happy I picked this up.

I have no idea how this got rated so well! Nice it comes with a stand. Decent price. But impossible to adjust properly!! Beware! Even the blade it comes with will not track correctly. I’ve watches hours of YouTube videos on how to properly set up a bandsaw and none of the rechniques work. It rubs on one place or another and never stays centered. I changed from the stock 3/8” blade to a 1/8” blade for finer curves and couldn’t even get it to tension without popping off the tracks. I messed with it for HOURS and nothing worked. In the end it finally destroyed the blade (I’m down $19) and even putting the original blade one makes horrible cuts. I think the lower wheel is horribly off from the factory and nothing I can do fixes the alignment. The guide bushings for the upper wheel are terrible. They are housed in a way that makes them difficult to see and the rear bushing has no adjustment on its own. You have to adjust all three bearings even if the side bushings are fine. The main problem is that under full tension the top wheel still had over 1/8” of wobble!!!! Horrible design! The two pictures are a level showing the difference when everything is fully tight (tension and leveling adjust). Something is terribly wrong. It makes a rubbing noise like the bearings aren’t greased.

Edit: tried again today after I cooled down. What do you know!? The tension knob broke off! Returning it today

The bearing guides are all independently adjustable and even the drive pulley has track adjustment. My only gripe is that the led light doesn’t quite reach where it would be the most useful.

I always try to take 1-star reviews with a healthy dose of salt, so I purchased this band saw. What a mistake! I really, REALLY should have listened to those that already wrote warnings of all the failings this machine will visit upon your woodworking life. I have experienced every single one.

I mostly make a variety of small projects that require precision, but not horsepower (mostly hand planes, tools, and boxes). A small kerf blade power tool is very useful for me, but I'm not a heavy-duty user. I figured this saw could definitely handle the light duty projects I usually need such a tool for.

From the very beginning the blade turned in toward the fence. Bought two new quality blades, one for curves (Olsen 10tpi), one specifically for resawing (Timberwolf 4tpi). Changing blades is a nightmare--there is no indication of correct tension, and the guide bearings are nearly impossible to adjust without being a contortionist or taking the table off the saw.

Turned to the internet for advice and learned how to adjust all of the tension knobs and guide bearings and tracking effectively on a band saw. (Meanwhile the window for returns firmly closed.) Figured I was golden now. WRONG.

Each new blade performed flawlessly for about 2-4 cuts, then began to dive toward the fence again. Every. Time. It's like there are gremlins that mess up all the settings after every use. This machine simply will not stay calibrated.

So now I'm $350 short with a big piece of useless junk cluttering up my shop and reminding me both of my ruined projects and the old axiom, "Buy nice or buy twice."

Learn from the mistakes others like me have made by being lured in with a shiny low-cost price tag and good reviews from folks who may not have owned or used it enough to have encountered problems yet. Save your pennies for a quality machine that will work every time you use it!

This is NOT that machine.

I couldn't get this bandsaw to hold a straight line. Tried many adjustments and nothing worked. Ended up returning to Amazon and getting the Rikon bandsaw(which I love). You get what you pay for and Wen tries to be the low cost option. In this case it comes at the expense of quality.

Installed onto the workbench and it's now perfect.

Apenas la he estado probando, no se ve mal, definitivamente la cinta con la que viene de origen que es de 3/8" no es la adecuada para cortes intrincados, el sistema inferior de guía de rodamientos es de bastante mala calidad, funciona pero temo que no durará mucho tiempo, la guía superior está un poco mejor, pero considero que ambas se pueden mejorar bastante, la profundidad máxima de corte, con referencia al diámetro del volante es excelente, ninguna otra sierra de 10" por lo menos que yo conozca, tiene esa profundidad de corte de 6" sin ningún tipo de extensión o inserto adicional, la mesa es bastante "ligera" por no decir de baja calidad, pero cumple con su función, bien por la base metálica, muy adecuada, referente al ajuste o set up que se requiere a cada cambio de banda, al inicio me pareció un complicado y tedioso, pero con un poco de práctica es sencillo, y realizándolo bien, la sierra trabaja sin ningún problema, la lámpara que trae de origen está bien, pero es insuficiente para iluminar en su totalidad las líneas a cortar, es necesario adicionar otra lámpara para lograr iluminar toda el área a trabajar, en general es una buena máquina, que guarda una buena proporción entre calidad y costo, teniendo los cuidados necesarios como el evitar apretar de más los tornillos de los rodamientos, evitar que estos estén trabajando de manera continua, emplear un buen sistema de Extraccion de polvo, respetar su ciclo de trabajo etc. Se tendrá máquina para rato.
Actualización: es de agradecerse el hecho de incluir iluminación para el área de trabajo, pero la posición en la cual la colocaron y la longitud en la que puede extenderse la lámpara genera sombras en las líneas marcadas a cortar, para poder colocarla en la posición ideal se forza demasiado la funda del cable además que la luz es sumamente brillante y se refleja en la superficie de la mesa generando que cuando estás un rato cortando termines "lampareado", en mi caso tengo que colocar una lámpara por la parte frontal para evitar sombras y no lastimarme la vista y no utilizo la que viene en la sierra

Apenas la he estado probando, no se ve mal, definitivamente la cinta con la que viene de origen que es de 3/8" no es la adecuada para cortes intrincados, el sistema inferior de guía de rodamientos es de bastante mala calidad, funciona pero temo que no durará mucho tiempo, la guía superior está un poco mejor, pero considero que ambas se pueden mejorar bastante, la profundidad máxima de corte, con referencia al diámetro del volante es excelente, ninguna otra sierra de 10" por lo menos que yo conozca, tiene esa profundidad de corte de 6" sin ningún tipo de extensión o inserto adicional, la mesa es bastante "ligera" por no decir de baja calidad, pero cumple con su función, bien por la base metálica, muy adecuada, referente al ajuste o set up que se requiere a cada cambio de banda, al inicio me pareció un complicado y tedioso, pero con un poco de práctica es sencillo, y realizándolo bien, la sierra trabaja sin ningún problema, la lámpara que trae de origen está bien, pero es insuficiente para iluminar en su totalidad las líneas a cortar, es necesario adicionar otra lámpara para lograr iluminar toda el área a trabajar, en general es una buena máquina, que guarda una buena proporción entre calidad y costo, teniendo los cuidados necesarios como el evitar apretar de más los tornillos de los rodamientos, evitar que estos estén trabajando de manera continua, emplear un buen sistema de Extraccion de polvo, respetar su ciclo de trabajo etc. Se tendrá máquina para rato.

Well, I've had this saw for a few days now. It was easy to assemble, all required tools are provided for assembly and setup.
I purchased it to resaw softwood and hardwood lumber.
I have resawn 6" hardwoods with the supplied blade (3/8" x 4TPI?)
I was using the low speed, you can't jam it through, but it does a nice cut!
I will switch to a 1/2" x 3TPI soon.
It cuts accurately with the 3/8" blade.
The light is handy as well as the dust collection system.
The price is awesome! I bought this saw because of the price, but also because it is well reviewed online.
I am happy with it so far, would certainly recommend it if you're on a budget like me.

Hasta ahora la he utilizado para hacer cortes en madera y en piso de PVC. No para trabajo profesional sino para proyectos de DIY / HUM (hágalo usted mismo). La sierra es silenciosa y corta muy bien, es flexible y fácil de armar (como una media hora de armado y trae todas las piezas y tornillería requerida). No la he probado con metal ni con una hoja más delgada para hacer curvas pronunciadas, pero hasta ahora estoy muy satisfecho.

I was debating between this and a proper 14 inch bandsaw with resaw capacity of at least 6 inches. I got this because it was less than 3 bills, so it was far less than the 9+ bills I would be paying for a bigger bandsaw.
For my use, which is mostly cutting blanks into circles for wood turning, this works well. I have a couple of different blades, and it is a good idea to change off the stock blade for something a little better. It is a bit slow, but far faster than my CT entry level saw.
For resawing, this lacks the power you will find in a larger machine. If you intend on resawing, I would suggest going to a 1 HP+ machine, and best to get that at a physical store, in case there are any issues.
