How The Fender Rumble 150 Bass Amplifier Sounds
Mitch H.
Product Description
From the company that invented the electric bass amp, the The Fender Rumble 25 V3 Bass Amplifier is a mighty leap forward in the evolution of portable bass amps. Its diminutive stature leaves the heftiness to its sound output, not its weight. Rumble 25 uses every last electron of its 25 watts to pump out a surprisingly rich and balanced sound. Plug in your MP3 player into the 1/8 inch Auxiliary input jack and you're ready for showtime. Or practice privately with the 1/4 inch headphone output jack that also mutes the speaker output. This amp features a 3 band EQ that allows for tone shaping. Whether it"s for an acoustic gig or backstage rehearsal, Rumble 25 delivers legendary Fender tone in a remarkably portable package. Its dimensions are 15.1x19.25x20 inches and it weighs 22.8lbs

Update 07/01/2020 - Purchased this in 2018 now all these months later and numerous shows and practices and getting lugged around and thrown in the van and etc etc... This little gem of a Bass amp has truly stood up to the test of "actual use" - not just sitting in a room somewhere but essentially getting tromped on and moved around rather regularly. Of course Corona put a damper on things for about the last 4 months or so but prior to the end of the world, we played a huge gig for St. Patricks and the Rumble 40 stood up nicely. The thing that stangs out the most is the XLS output jack in the back that allowed our sound guy to plug it into the giant sub cub speaker stand and basically fill the room with atomic level boom boom. It was awesome! Cheers! Keep rocking everyone! Be safe out there!
I got this amp so I wouldn't have to lug around my huge bass rig for a quickie jam session elsewhere. Didn't have high expectations for the size and price. As a bass practice amp, it's just fine. Surely comparable to any of the other offerings out there. Plenty loud and a surprising amount of range to that little 8" speaker. For the price point, it's a lot of amp for the money. Nice and light, small, portable, everything nice quality. Not quite loud enough to gig a bass with, but pretty decent for most anything else.
The real surprise was how good this thing is as a violin and guitar amp. I had been struggling to get a full sound from my NS Designs 5-string violin played thru a Fender Blues Deluxe combo amp. Everything was pretty screechy and that made me sad.
Sticking my violin through the Rumble 25 was a revelation; everything I always wanted to hear from my violin came straight through. Full, rich tones. And furthermore it was loud enough to gig with! I played my violin through this amp at an outdoor block party with full band and PA setup, and it came through with more than enough power. Didn't even need to mic it.
But wait, there's more! It also excels as a guitar amp. A very no-nonsense, full presence kind of tone with more than enough bottom end to make a Fender Strat sound fat even on the bridge pickup. (I'm selling my Blues Deluxe now, shhh don't tell Craigslist)
This thing is great if you're a multi-instrumentalist. I suspect it does pretty well as a keyboard amp too.
