Versatile range of focal lengths
I love this lens because it has a very versatile range of angles which create many opportunities for capturing perspectives that one would not get with other lenses, especially at the wider end of the spectrum. The build and feel of the lens are excellent. The only issue I have with it (and this is most likely due to the fact that it is a zoom lens and not a fixed focal length lens) is that it is not the sharpest. Depending on whether you want to make enlargements or not, it may be an issue especially if you are going to go above 11x14. Overall though, I am quite happy with it and it is one of my all-time favorite lenses because of its range of focal lengths.

This is the non WR version of the Fujifilm XF 10-24mm f4 zoom lens. It's a wonderful lens and quite the bargain. Glad I purchased it.
Reviewed in the United States on July 18, 2015
There were a couple reasons why I hesitated for more than a year to buy one. First off there was the price: not cheap, even on sale. Next, some reviewers noted that the optics have more distortion than similar lens for other camera systems (though normally you'll never see it due to automatically applied corrections). Finally, many reviewers noted that it gets softer at the longer focal lengths. Turns out I needn't have worried; compared to the XF primes, yeah, it is softer, BUT, it is sharper than the XF 18-55mm kit lens, at the same apertures, for the focal lengths where their zoom ranges overlap (18-24mm)--a fact I never saw mentioned in any review I read! It was only when I was carefully comparing test data that I discovered it (I've also verified it on my own).

I tend to shot wide. On a recent trip I took this lens and the XF 55-200mm. In the end, the 10-24 lens stayed on the camera for the whole trip. Now if I'd gone to the zoo, I'd probably have swapped lens for awhile. :)

Pros:
* very handy zoom range for travel
* excellent image quality for a zoom
* quick, quiet focus
* OIS
* balances comfortably on the X-T1

Cons:
* expensive, even when it is on sale
* uses digital trickery to correct for optical distortion and vignetting

Summary:
I put off buying this lens for too long, but I'm glad I finally got it.

Alternatives:
Before getting this I bought the In the Rokinon/Samyang 12mm which is a a wonderful lens and a bargain, though the manual focus gots old. I'll keep it because it's a couple stops faster.

If you are looking for a wide angle zoom for the Fuji X series, this is it. It's sharp at all distances, flexible with a constant f/4 largest f/stop, with some but minimal edge distortion at 10-11mm that lessens as the lens is stopped down. This is the second copy that I tried; the first had distortion and softness on the right edge at almost all distances and f/stops. It also had a speck of dirt under the rear glass element. Amazon was great about taking it back. I took this second copy on a shoot to Bandelier using a Fujifilm X-T1 which it couples beautifully with. It was a dull grey day with gusty winds but most of my images came out very well, especially when processing the RAW files and using some distortion correction for the widest angle images. The shooting range was very flexible; I was able to photograph ancient ruins, landscape, and using the macro setting, buds in bloom. It operates smoothly and quickly; the lens length stays the same size throughout its range. I had very few photos that weren't sharp though some had softer edges and a bit more edge distortion than others. I could not see any flare using the hood that comes with the lens. I am using a 72mm B+W UV MRC Filter for protection. I think the weight and size of the lens works well with the X-T1 since this body is very fast to focus and shoot.

Although optically and ergonomically is this lens very good, I have several issues with this lens that prevent me to give 5*.
Here is why: The lens is not sealed. Not an issue for some, but I shoot outdoor lifestyle and reportage shoots all the time, and within first half a year there is already quite a bit of mess inside, which ruins picture quality if stopped down.What's even worse form me, it makes terrible reflections if shooting against light, such as rim lights, sunsets and so on. It helps when you put a filter on as it prevents the front element sucking things while using zoom, but dust/water still gets in mainly by the aperture ring. The ring itself is another thing bothers me - I wish it would have marked F values ending with "A" like it is on all Fuji primes and on 16-55 and 50-140. The system they've used is not nearly as convenient and given by a fact that the switch is quite loose, every once in a while I accidentally moved it to the automatic. As I never use automatic aperture, I ended putting a piece of gaff tape on it to prevent that happening. I also dislike is the quality of the paint they are using. It does look cool once new, but after only a month of using, the paintjob was already gone on several places, like on the focus ring and the edge close to the bayonet - just by normal using. Don't get me wrong, I take good care about my stuff. I never, ever, had such a problem with neither Canon or Nikkor, Tokina or even Rokinon after years of use. Seriously, for this price point I'd expect them to put more than one tiny layer of paint that you can literally scratch by your fingernails. The "wobbly bayonet" as other people reported is present too, but it is because hole for the pin that holds the lens in place has more room. It isn't that the lens would have loose bayonet or so. It is same as with other large Fuji lenses and does not affect shooting. The lens hood is nice sturdy, but doesn't holds on the lens as good as some other brands I used.
Otherwise, it is a great lens. So now the good stuff: Handling is similar to 24-70s but in smaller package and I'd conciser it brilliant (only if the aperture ring...) It is mostly metal construction so it seems to be durable against some knocks. Some people complain about size/weight, but that's not an issue to me. Optically, this lens is sharp, all across its range of zoom and F stops. If you shoot raw or don't use the in camera lens optimizer for jpegs, it has some strong barrel distortion on wide and little of pincushion on long end. Sort of similar as Nikon's 16-35. However, unless shooting architecture, it never bothers me. Stabilization is nice feature for static dark scenes and video, mainly after the firmware update. Compare to Fuji's "first generation" lenses, this one is superior to them in almost every aspects. Focusing is quieter, faster, the lens hood is bit better and even the lens cap is improved. I am using filters instead of caps, but this one is the best lens cap I have seen.
In conclusion, it has some downsides but if you want to go wide on Fuji and don't need to freeze some fast moving action in dimmer light, this is definitely the lens to go. Until Fuji make second version, or Tokina release their lenses with x mount.

I use this lens mostly for real estate photography. It's sharp, the auto focus is very accurate, it has stabilization and it is well built. I have the 1st version which is not weather sealed, which is not a problem for me, although it might be for some (version 2 does have weather sealing). There is an 8-16 which is 2.8, but it's MUCH bigger and MUCH more expensive. Everyone has different needs, but for me this is the best wide angle option for Fuji

5.0 out of 5 stars The wide angle lens for your fuji.
Reviewed in Canada on December 18, 2017
5Stars, if there's one thing that deserve 5 stars, that's it. Very good lense, very sharp, the OIS is amazing, I had a little bit of chromatic abberation on some pictures but most of the time it doesn't. There's almost no distortion unless you get too close to something but at this point, you're asking for it. BTW, It can focuses very close to your subject and works great even in the cold ( -10°C this weekend! and no issue). These days it's on my camera most of the time. You can do wide landscape shots with the 10mm and it'll do well too as a street/portrait lenses at 24mm. Sure there are better lenses for portrait and streets but it'll do the trick just fine.
The 72mm filter size is nice too, it's the same size as the 50-140mm F2.8 From fuji which is an amazing portrait lense. So you can use this filter on both lenses.

I love this lens.
It is really sharp and the AF is really fast.
I used with my T1 and now with my T2.
It is a little bit chunky but not huge as wide angle for other camera brands (I had the Tokina 12-24 F4 for Nikon it was bigger that this Fuji 10-24).

5.0 out of 5 stars Sehr praktisch für Städteurlaub
Reviewed in Germany on February 3, 2017
