Top reviews from the United States

I loved this series. But because it is a five book series, I chose to write individual reviews on each volume in the boxed set.

RANGER’S OATH BOOK ONE
Owyn and Zara continue serving the Light in their respective spheres. Owyn serves as a ranger at Ranger Headquarters in the Ashwood, and Zara as the youngest mage in the history of the Conclave and thus in Tarsynium's history too. While Owyn struggles with disbelief in Ashwood, he finally helps defeat a new demon threat there, but not before the discovery that Master Warden Thorne was a mind slave. On the other hand, Zara manages to escape the Harbingers and return to the Conclave in time to become a hero. The final act has the Prophet ordering the death of Elwyn Mathis, his inside man in the Conclave, for all the failures.

DOOM BRINGERS BOOK TWO
5 stars
Ranger's Oath is a fantastic story with an incredible twist at the end. I love the development of the two main characters, Zara Dennel and Owyn. Initially they are inclined to be enemies because mages and rangers don't normally get along. However, Zara's willingness to believe Owyn's story about seeing a demon is the start of a partnership to save Radiance and Tarsynium from the R'Laar demons. As a result, they pull together an alliance with the leadership of Elias Keen, Owyn's Ranger Master, that saves the people of Forest Hill from the demon led attack. This is an action-packed story with many fascinating characters. I'm thrilled that I have the bundle of the five books of Fall of Radiance: The Complete Series as I am eager to get started on DOOM BRINGERS, Book Two in the Complete Series.

WAR ECHOES BOOK THREE
5 stars
This story starts with Asmodeus, Prince of Darkness, giving instructions to the Prophet and Harbingers to meet him at which time he will gift them with a way to bring down the Arc of Radiance. At the same time, the Rangers exact justice on Advisor Egbert Creed for the massacre of Nightingale civilians, women, and children. Likewise, the Conclave raises Zara to Seeker status. Then King Aethelgar orders Owyn and Zara to attend him. It turns out he has a mission to the Nightingale Protector in their hidden city of Dunmar to bring an offer of a truce to fight the demons. At this point we get reunited with Elias, who is Aethelgar's Nightingale prisioner. The rest of the story contains betrayal, love, forgiveness, and revelations. It has lots of surprises and fantastic action scenes. When all hope seems gone for the people of Dunmar, the cavalry arrives to rescue them and defeat the King's army.

EXILED BOOK FOUR
5 stars
This story is as captivating as the first three in the Fall of Radiance Series. It's loaded with betrayal, first by the king, and ends with the Prophet's use of the dagger from Asmodeous, the Prince of Darkness. In between is an amazing story of courage and ingenuity to survive exile beyond the Arc of Radiance by Owyn and Zara. There are amazing discoveries in the wilderness including people of Byhalya decended from those who failed to make it inside the Arc of Radiance when it was raised. We also find a source crystal of the kind the mages' talesmen are made from.

PRINCE OF DARKNESS BOOK FIVE
5 stars
This was a fantastic story, kept me thinking about different solutions to their challenges even when I wasn’t reading. I really identified with Owyn and Zara and their world. Prince of Darkness began with Sylvania Holdyn, Head of the Circle and High Magus of the Conclave of Mages, in her dying act wrote a letter for Elias, Ranger and Protector of the Nightingales, appointing him as her choice to lead humanity against the R’Laar.
Zara is chosen to lead a group of mages to the wilderness to find the huge source crystal that she and Owyn were shown by the wastelander youth. Zara found an ancient formula to hopefully destroy the demons.
This book also reveals another internal threat, the Prophetess.
A bright spot in this book was Owyn and Zara’s wedding on the way to the wilderness. It was a delightful event that the whole community of Elder Hollow rejoiced to have a cause to celebrate following the demon attack.
There was action galore and both heroes and villains as the united forces of Nightingales, Rangers, and the army of Tarsys fight the hordes of demons. The situation looked bleak that any humans would survive.
This tale, though, had a bittersweet ending as Owyn and Zara managed to save human life on and especially Tarsynium from the Prince of Darkness and his legions. The sweet part of the ending revolved around Elias and Tamara.

Enjoyed the story line and character development. More time than I would have liked on the descriptions of planning and execution of battles, but I'm probably quite a bit older than targeted reader. Still the series was well written and engaging. Worth the time to read.

I don’t know what I was expecting here but it was not THIS! The story is anything but predictable, there were a lot of surprises. The ending I DID NOT SEE COMING! Quite a few tears were shed. I love the characters, the setting. Fantastic read!

Very well written. Strong story line with some good twists. The hero's are good at getting in and out of trouble. It's not what I normally read but I really did enjoy reading these books. I highly recommend this series to people that enjoy well written fantasy.

This series of five books kept me engaged with the story right through. I find that some books make me lose interest after a few chapters and I am looking at the last pages without bothering to read the majority of the book. In this case over 5 books I was not tempted to do that. I enjoyed the characters and the story. I think this series would appeal to readers from teens through to ... Thank you for the opportunity to read them.

All I can say is WOW!
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this series. This was my first time reading anything from this author. I would definitely recommend this series.
Great job.

I am enamored with this series. What does a young mage initiate, a ranger apprentice and a Prince of Darkness all have in common? The end of the world perhaps? Follow Zara Dennel on her journey of discovery. She'll find herself and that there is power in the Light. I highly recommend this series. The books have some few typos and editing errors but nothing that takes away from the books being well worth the read. Kudos to Blake Arthur Peel for a well written series.
