Product Description
Whether you’re just getting into records, rediscovering a record collection long since buried away or simply adding a turntable to complete your system, the AT-LP60X fully automatic belt-drive turntable is an excellent choice. This affordable, easy-to-use turntable plays both 33-1/3 and 45 RPM records and, with its built-in switchable phonon preamp, can be connected directly to your home stereo, powered speakers, computer and other components, whether they have a dedicated phonon input or not. An update of the popular AT-LP60, the ATLP60X features a redesigned tone arm base and head shell to improve tracking and reduce resonance. Noise is further reduced by the inclusion of an AC adapter that moves the AC/DC conVersion outside of the chassis where its impact on the signal chain is limited. Audio-Technical has been a leader in phonon cartridge design for more than 50 years, and that expertise shows in the AT-LP60X’s Dual Magnet cartridge with replaceable stylus. The cartridge is integrated into the head shell for assured performance and ease of setup. The turntable comes with a detachable RCA output cable (3. 5 mm male to dual RCA male), 45 RPM adapter, and a removable hinged dust cover. It is available in black (AT-LP60X-BK), brown/black (AT-LP60X-BW), gunmetal/black (AT-LP60X-GM), and red/black (AT-LP60X-RD).

Here are a couple cons, which, honestly are very small, and honestly just show how much more this turntable is worth the price:
If you make a sudden movement such as jump near the turntable, or maybe bump into the surface the turntable is on, instead of "hearing" that amplified sound on the speakers like you might with an AT-LP120, this will usually jump forward one rotation (~7 seconds), presumably part of a small tradeoff to enable some of the automatic start-stop mechanisms, which in my opinion is totally worth it just for the auto-stop feature. My other complaint would be when pressing stop, the needle will lift up and go back to the rest state. This means, to my knowledge with my limited finicking, that you can't pause in the middle of a record and continue it. I could be wrong, but I don't really want to unnecessarily add both extra wear to my records nor add uneven wear.
Overall, this player is amazing and an absolute steal. You probably know this if you're reading this review, but any record player around this $150 price range that has built in speakers is usually the inferior quality type with the plastic needles and whatnot that gave essentially the same sound quality as the $40 players. This turntable is on par with $300 players for only $150, so that's a win to me.
Having an extensive vinyl and CD collection, I made do with my disc player. However, I yearned for the sound of vinyl.
This is not a bad machine and unlike my previous turntable which was manual this one is automatic to play albums and 45's. It's kinda nice. However, it doesn't feel as sturdy as it is quite light. I found out the needle is very, very fragile as it can pop off easily and if you're not careful it can easily break if you don't put it back just so. The drive belt seems very light and I just hope it doesn't wear out with extensive use. But that's the chance we all take.
Delivery was very good and it arrived undamaged. It is easy to set up and shows clear instructions. There is also a switch on the back of the turntable. I have no idea what purpose it serves. When I put my first album on, it sounded very distorted. I thought my receiver or my speakers were the issue or that I hadn't connected it properly. None of this was the case and trying one last thing it was the switch in the back of the table itself. Once I flipped it the sound was perfectly clear. It's a good machine and it serves its purpose. It's just that it's so light to the point it feels flimsy. My advice to anyone purchasing this model is; it is a quality machine that serves its purpose, but keep the original box cause if you plan on moving or decide to set it up elsewhere it is very fragile so be careful.
