    Short version – wow.
After being tempted by a few of the look-alikes, I went with the Ergotune. Glad I did. The kicker was the product weight – this is a substantial piece and it feels sturdy.

Most impressive was the level of thoughtfulness in the packing of all of the components (including spare parts! who does that?), the easy giant instructions, and adjustments literature. Smart, easy, helpful.

Haven’t treated myself to a “good” chair since the aeron many years ago, and this one is in that league. In fact the arm rests are better.

The chair arrived in a large box with what turned out to be superficial damage. The chair components were all in perfect condition. By following the large assembly instruction sheet assembly was a breeze. There was no need for a video, etc. Do follow the hints about using the shipping box and packing foam as supports when doing the assembly - they hold the chair perfectly. It's an easy one person assembly job except for one step that is best done by two people and that only takes a few seconds. I highly recommend this chair.

Super easy to put together. Everything labeled well. There is a point where it recommends putting the chair upside down on the box to assemble one part. That worked well. I bought the size small and it fits better than any other chair I've had. I am 5'2". If you search around on their website, you can find the recommended size for your height. I do recommend making all the adjustments available, doing one at a time, so that the chair fits well. When you adjust the height for lumbar support, slowly lower it one notch at a time and count them so you know how many are remaining. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because I am slightly allergic to something in the arm rests. Also, the front of the seat can not be tipped downward to make the seat slope. Regardless, I like the chair. I have used it for a month everyday.

    I have ZERO complaints.

I am watching TV in this chair instead of my bed currently. This chair is heaven.

Best instructions I have ever seen for an assembly, extra parts came as well. No tools necessary!

    THE CUSTOMIZATIONS ARE PHENOMENAL!

    UGH BUY THIS CHAIR!

I had really high hopes for this chair. I'm sure for most people who buy this chair it is just fine. At 5'0" short, the lumbar support is terrible. Its too stiff even at the lowest setting. My kidneys are bruised from using this chair. The arm height is completely wrong for a short person using this chair. After just 2 hours of using it, my shoulders and back are in extreme pain. They took a standard chair, made a couple of adjustments for a smaller person but forgot about the entire body. Also, the head rest in combination with the terrible lumbar support is completely wrong. Its too far forward so it puts your spine in a weird curve. I ended up just removing it completely. Sometimes less is more. I've used other office chairs that use this type of material stretched over a steel frame and they were comfortable. This one is TOO tight which doesn't give quite enough for a light weight person. Again, this comes down to trying to scale down a big chair for a small person without considering the entire body composition.

This chair meets all the specs the Ergonomics Specialist who evaluated my work space gave me. Newly set up but I love it. Blue color is perfect for my home office, makes me happy to look at it and happier to sit on it.

The design and the assembly of the chair is sweet! The packaging was phenomenal, thoroughly thought through, suggesting the box be used as an assembly bench and the different bolts all individually packaged and labeled accordingly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Chair, Good Support, Great Customer Service
Reviewed in Australia on December 9, 2022
A really nice chair with back support that I never knew I wanted. I don't have back issues but I do sit a lot (im a software engineer) and was looking for a comfortable chair that was breathable and comfortable for long period of sitting without spending a crazy amount of money.

These chairs arrive in a huge box that weigh a ton. My chair was delivered within 24 hours after ordering which is pretty impressive considering it was during the black friday sales period. The packaging was very nice and it comes with a really nicely printed , high quality poster of the instructions. I actually felt bad about throwing the poster out it was so nicely done.

The chair is very solid, the feet and arms are solid metal and feels like it will last a life time.
Assembly is super easy and it comes with a very proper alan key tool with a decent hand grip which is really appreciated, this now lives in my tool box.

The amount of adjustment options is impressive also.. I bought the chair not realizing half the things you can do. There is even a set of screw holes on the chair plate for taller 180cm+ people like myself, a nice touch that most other chairs dont have.

The adjustable arm rest positions are also very nice, although I wish they had a locking mechanism, because im changing and bumping them all day.. but then its still way better than not being able to move them at all. I never knew this is something I wanted until I used it.

The back support is quite nice, although I dont have lower back issues I do feel like im doing some good. I was worried it might annoy me, but you can change the tension of the back support to your liking so its less noticable, all the way to very firm. A nice touch

I had an issue with my neck rest and contacted support, they sent me out a new neck rest right away and it fixed my issue. So five stars to the Northday support team.

This is a solidly built, incredibly customizable, very comfortable chair. At this price point I think its a good deal, especially if you spend a lot of time sitting like I do.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pros outweigh the cons

I got this chair on sale at $562AUD from $749AUD. Look out for Black Friday sales!

    PROS:
Incredibly sturdy. Easy to build. Instructions are clear and easy to follow. Many many points of adjustment to make it fit almost any body size. The mesh is quite comfortable, breathable and does not stretch or sag at all. The armrests are adjustable in SO MANY ways. I have mine set in the angle that supports my arms in the perfect position to reach my keyboard and mouse and at the exact same height as my desk. My arms always feel like they’re resting even as I’m furiously typing and clicking away. Head/neck support is awesome! I’ve always preferred chairs with no headrest, as I’ve always found them uncomfortable in the past. I bought this with the intention of not connecting the headrest, but decided to try it temporarily just to see. Turns out I just didn’t have the right headrest in the past. Once the headrest is in the right position, it feels great! It’s definitely staying on now. Lumbar support is top notch! I suffer from severe back pain and have tried using many different lumbar pillows/cushions in the past, with the best results being only an hour or two of pain-free sitting before having to adjust the support or stand up due to lower back pain. I can sit a whole work day in this chair without a hint of pain! I wish I had this chair years ago.

    CONS:
The headrest and armrest adjustments are not lockable and I often accidentally click them out of place when moving the chair or leaning back to recline. I bought the black version and I have a white dog that sheds. The mesh is like a magnet for dog fur. After I built the chair, I sat in it and asked my 11 year old daughter “What do you think?” and she told me I looked like Stephen Hawking in his electric wheelchair.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great chair
Reviewed in Australia on March 3, 2023
I had no idea I needed extendable adjustable armrests in my life, and I'm so glad Ergo Tune incorporated them into their design. They have helped immensely in relieving neck and shoulder strain while I'm typing and using the mouse.
I've also never been a fan of mesh, but I realise now I was wrong on that. The seat base is wide and the waterfall edge means your circulation isn't cut off after 20 mins.
The lumbar support is awesome in my opinion and is comfortable for me. If you don't like a prominent lumbar support, it might not be for you? But I love it.
Overall the chair was a bit tricky to assemble by myself - I probably should have watched the assembly video first! But once it was together and I played with the adjustments it is perfect for me.
This chair has helped relieve an immense amount of pain I'd been experiencing by using an old chair without arm rests that should have been replaced three years ago. The first time I used it, I was in it for a solid 10 hours catching up on work and I could stand up and walk without pain at the end of that marathon session. I love this chair.
I think the best thing about the Ergo Tune is it makes you sit in the chair properly and you're fully supported. No doubt other high end chairs do a similar job, but I can't recall any others having the swivel extending arm rests. They are a game changer IMHO.
And I love the colour options. I got coral and it's not overly bright and blends with my cherry wood laminate office furniture.
Did I mention I love this chair? 😀
Can recommend if you're looking for a quality build and don't want to pay over a grand for a name brand.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great chair, but with noticable issues
Reviewed in Australia on May 16, 2023
The chair is comfortable and is great at support, but the build quality should be better for the price Armrests scratch and fall apart easily, I already have noticeable damage after only a month of use, and the base of the chair itself is no longer stable.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent value and adjustability
Reviewed in Australia on February 9, 2023
Pros: Delivered remarkably quickly, about a week ahead of estimated time. Excellent adjustability in this price range, e.g seat pan depth, lumbar support firmness options, armrest angle options. Very supportive. Reasonable build quality, while it's no Herman Miller it's also a small fraction of the price. Mesh is comfortably supportive and excellent for airing out swamp ass.

Cons: Headrest could use more tactile detents for height adjustments and more settings for depth/shallowness. Armrests could go a couple of inches lower for ease of compatibility with desks.

Nitpicks: shipped with enough foam to cull most of the marine life in Moreton Bay. You need a completely empty wheelie bin to accommodate the foam and another for the cardboard. Medium size would probably be a struggle for anyone much over 180cm (proportions for lumbar support etc would be off), wait for the Large instead.

Overall, confidence inspiring to use and I'd heartily recommend this. If you're thinking of purchasing one of those pleather bucket seats for GaMeRz, sit yourself in a locker for five minutes to rethink your life and buy something like this instead.
