Customers are mixed about the quality of the pool vacuum. Some mention that it was the best pool cleaner by far, it's a good and reliable cleaner, and it keeps the pool bottom and sides nicely scrubbed. Customers are dissatisfied with the suction of the pool vacuum. They mention that it gets stuck on steps and corners, and the drain cover. It also moves extremely slowly and constantly hangs up on deep corners. The thin "skirt" gets caught on the edge of the drain caps. Customers also mention that they have to divert more suction to it than their last pool sweep, and that the sucker curls under and needs straightening.
"...Plus it continually gets stuck on the pool drain cover, which sticks up maybe an inch or so from flat bottom of pool...." Read more

Customers are dissatisfied with the maneuverability of the pool vacuum. They mention that it does not move like expected, will barely move in the pool, and the movement of the sweep is inconsistent. Some say that the vacuum's movement is basic, it always moves backwards, and that the rubber pleat does notmove as freely as past models. Overall, some customers are disappointed with the performance of this pool vacuum and recommend it only for small pools.
"...It won't move at all unless I either unstick it from the pool bottom or detach 2 sections of the hose from each other under water then put them back..." Read more

I would recommend purchasing this over other brands. Keep in mind your pool obstacles and things like that that will affect it. Mine is a vinyl and it works incredibly well.
Update, 20 Oct 2020:
Stars remain the same (4 of 5). But issue has changed. Turns out I had gasket problems in a valve that was causing my new Kreepy to not move well. That issue has been resolved and the Kreepy moves well and cleans great! However, I'm not as enthusiastic about the quality of the parts. The bumper roller strap has been falling apart over several months. At first, some beads were coming out, maybe just 1 or 2 or 3 were on the pool bottom. However, lately, a piece of one of the straps themselves was lying on the pool bottom. Not happy about having to replace that part so soon. Also, the issue remains with the Kreepy getting stuck on the pool drain cover. But bottom line: I love my Kreepy and wouldn't buy anything else!
Update, 27 July 2023:
Have to say, I'm disappointed in the durability of this unit! Have only had it 4 years and it already seems to need replacing. Different pieces keep breaking. The pleated seal and foot pad protector (this is kind of a normal wear-and-tear issue); the bumper replacement: more than once it has just fallen apart; the baffle plate that keeps the flapper in place broke and the flapper quit working (unusual, never had this before). And now, both "wings" have fallen off--again, never have had this happen. For all the money I've been spending on the individual parts, I could just buy a whole new unit.
Another issue that has arisen is that this cleaner seems to get some kind of "vapor lock" when the pump first starts up. It won't move at all unless I either unstick it from the pool bottom or detach 2 sections of the hose from each other under water then put them back together. THEN the Kreepy will start moving in a normal fashion. This happens probably 75% of the time. So, I don't feel like I can leave town for a few days and depend on the Kreepy doing its job. Not to mention all the wasted electricity and pump wear if I don't catch it.
When purchasing the new baffle plate, I actually bought 2: a generic one and an OEM one. I put the generic one on; I think I'll try the OEM one and see if that helps with the non-startup issue. Will also have to buy new wings. I'll probably just have to spring for a new one sooner rather than later. Sigh!
First issue. I ordered a new one prior to opening my pool and was told it was in stock and would be delivered in 3 days. Great! A week later I received an email asking me if I wanted to continue with the order because they weren't sure when if at all it would be delivered. I wasn't concerned about it because I wasn't planning on opening the pool until mid to late June. I choose to continue on and surprisingly it was delivered about a week later.
I was excited about the new one because it was "a new and improved version of the old model". I was eager to assemble it and try it out. Assembly was a breeze. Great
Second Issue. After installation and turning everything on the Krauly just sat there. After giving it a nudge it took off and I wrote it off as just a breaking in issue. However every time I have used it since that time I have had to give it a nudge because it never starts off like it supposed to. It just sits there with no movement from the flapper. I've checked for blockages or obstructions but none are there. If there are it's from somewhere deeper inside the devise that originated during manufacturing.
Third issue. It constantly hangs up on the deep corners. I have to babysit this thing because of the damage it may do if left stuck in a corner. That maybe happened with the old ones a dozen times over twenty plus years.
Fourth issue. It never rises to the waters edge. Used to hook the others up while working outside and was always hearing the pulsating sound from it cleaning the water line. It has not done that once during the month that I have been using it.
I might also add that I have used the automatic regulator valve and tried the straight method while manually adjusting the suction which is the way the previous two were used. I've also played with the weights adjustment to no avail. This thing is more work than just doing it manually.
I looked into returning it but as of now that's not an option even though I have only been using it for a month. I did however purchase it 2 months ago. From here on out I'll just vacuum the pool manually. It won't take as long as having to babysit this one while it tries to clean.
I honestly believe this is a manufacturing malfunction.
