Firstly, it looks very nice. It's ideal for a small, stylish PC that can sit on your desk and won't overpower it. It's effectively a 10" white cube with a window in the top.
Secondly, it's very well made. Everything apart from the front grille is powder-coated steel. The panels fit together well, and all the holes line up perfectly. The case comes fitted with a 200mm fan in the front, which honestly may be all the chassis cooling you'll need for your build. I added two 80mm fans in the rear, but honestly they only spin up for a few seconds on startup and shutdown. So with just the 200mm front fan and a CPU heat-sink+fan, you'll have a very quiet PC indeed.
Thirdly, it's very well designed. With all four panels (top, bottom, and both sides) being removable this is very easy to work on, making even very tight builds a breeze. There's ample room for a full-size PSU and a decent-sized CPU cooler, and lots of space for hiding those pesky cables. The case will accommodate two HDDs and two SSDs at the same time - not one or the other like some small cases. Amazingly, it also will accommodate a very large GPU. Just for fun I fitted an old GeForce GTX 580 (a 270mm unit) without any problems at all, although such a component will almost certainly obstruct the side ventilation holes.
Bear in mind that this is a small case, and will only accommodate a motherboard with the Mini-ITX form factor. You'd be well advised to make sure you can find a Mini-ITX motherboard at a price you're willing to pay before you buy this case. Also, although one of the product pictures shows the case with a full liquid cooling system installed, you most likely won't need anything that elaborate: the case has ample ventilation holes and that 200mm fan.
So all-in-all this case is a joy to work with and looks very stylish when finished. All four removable panels are interchangeable as well, giving you some interesting custom options: for example, you could put the top window on either side instead, or you could swap the panels so that the side-mounted power switch and USB3 sockets would be on the top. I fitted mine with a blue LED CPU cooler and a couple of blue LED lighting strips, and it looks terrific - like an oversized ice cube. It's also one of the quietest PCs I've ever known, due in no small part to Thermaltake's virtually-silent 200mm front chassis fan.
Pros:
1. Very easy access by removable 4 sides of the case
2. Came with the fan in the front for good air circulation
3. The fan in the front can be replace and also got slot for two more case fan at the back if needed
4. Very roomy
Cons:
1. only two hard drive slot. Since it is so roomy and we are usually be using SSD now days. I am sure there is enough room to design more slot for SSD hard drive.
The giant fan in the front is amazing, it pulls air really well and gives the case a lot of airflow. The swappable side panels is pretty cool so being able to have the panel with a windows available on either the side so show off your graphics card or on the top to show off your entire build is really cool.
Overall, really nice case for the price. It can be a little hard to work in it with larger graphics cards but that is to be expected with mini-ITX cases. Good airflow, good customizability with the swappable side panels, great case.

- wenig Tiefe (28,6 cm)
RAM: 16GB Crucial Ballistix 1866 Mhz (2x8GB)
Netzteil: BeQuiet Dark Power 650W
Grafikkarte: Gigabyte GTX 1050 Ti 4GB (mittlerweile durch eine Gigabyte RX 58 8GB ersetzt)
Prozessorkühler: BeQuiet Pure Rock Slim
zusätzliche Gehäuselüfter: 2xArctic F8 PWM 80mm (Regelung über PWM Anschluss des Mainboards)
Festplatten: 1x 2,5" SSD, 1x 3,5" HDD 2TBa
Montage:

Despite its relatively cheap price it’s made quite well, even with the side panels removed it’s super solid. It’s a really modular case in that all the side panels can be removed and because they are all the same size you can orientate the case any way you’d like too. It’s really easy to build in because of this too, no panels get in your way and despite its compact size it’s one of the more open cases I’ve worked in. This case is essentially tooless as well, the thumbscrews can be tightened by hand or if you really need it can be also tightened with a Phillips head screwdriver, but for a $55 case this is a very nice touch. It has some options for fans and with the 2 rear 80mm fans I bought it has exceptional air flow, probably the best air flow out of all my many builds. It also can fit a normal ATX sized power supply as many small cube ITX cases only can fit an SFX power supply. For those of you looking for an extra window side panel you have to contact Thermaltake directly as they no longer sell them in their store, I have already ordered another window panel. But this case overall was a pleasant surprise and I really like how my build turned out.
And because I love this case so much and have long term plans for it I am now going to critic it pretty hard, and I will be comparing it to my other ITX case, the Phanteks Enthoo EVOLV.
-Firstly, despite its ‘open’ concept in the inside it’s nearly impossible to properly cable manage and everything just gets stuffed down by the power supply, with no cable tie downs. And I currently have no sata/sata-power cables running through the case as I only have 1 m.2 SSD for my system storage. But I do plan on throwing in a 3.5” HDD in the future and I know it’s going to make things even messier. So in comparison the Enthoo EVOLV has a traditional case layout, meaning the cables go behind the motherboard tray so they are hidden out of the way, and it has lots of cable tie downs. UPDATE: I have since installed a 2.5" 2TB Hybrid hard drive, the cable mess isn't great but having a 2.5" HDD over a 3.5" HDD helps things out.
-Secondly, and this is more just me being extremely picky, but if I can I prefer 4-pin PWM fans over 3-pin DC fans, and the big 200m at the front was a 3-pin. However, I wasn’t going to change it originally but then I saw BitFenix sells a 200mm PWM fan that goes up to 1000RPM, I was convinced to make the change. The included stock Thermaltake fan only goes up to 700RPM. The BitFenix fan is also quieter at max speed. But that being said the Enthoo Evolv was no better with a 200mm 3-pin DC 700RPM fan included too, so I bought a BitFenix fan for that case as well as this one. It also gave me the option of getting a matching white fan for my white case! UPDATE: I wanted to get rid of this complaint of mine because at $55 what was I expecting, but I decided to leave it in as it may be informative, and it shows that even the Phanteks case is no better in this aspect, I've even have bought $130+ cases with 3-pin fans only.
-Thirdly, the hard drive cages are great because they are removable, but this doesn’t make up for how flimsy they are. When removing them you need to be careful as you can easily bend them, I already accidentally bent one of the arms, although it did bend back into place this is something to keep in mind. Also since they are metal I was happy to see rubber grommets included to mount the hard drives, as metal on metal contact is always best avoided if possible. In the Enthoo EVOLV you get drive sleds that slide into a cage like 90% of cases on the market.
-Fourth and lastly, this is again something that I am very picky about and most people may not care about; but the openings on the side panel allow for a lot of dust to be pulled into the case, especially with time. Even if you have positive airflow the graphics card is still right against the side of the case so it will pull in air regardless of positive airflow or not. So being as picky as I am I dropped another $30 on white 120mm Silverstone super fine mesh fan filters. The only two intake fans that are filtered are the front intake (non-removable filter), and the bottom for the power supply. But, being a budget case the power supply filter isn’t the greatest so I replaced it with a Silverstone one too, at least it’s a removable fan filter. So when compared to the Enthoo EVOLV, that case has fine mesh fan filters on all intakes that are easily removable.
But overall I couldn’t ask more of this case at a price of $55 when the Enthoo EVOLV is nearly double the price. And by no means am I not recommending this Core V1 at all, I am simply bringing to light things I picked up on while building in it. Overall the building experience was super easy and the compact form factor of this case makes it more appealing to me in many ways over the Enthoo EVOLV. They both have things that make one a bit better over the other but this case definitely deserves 5/5 stars in my books. It’s probably the best $55 case available on the market.
I currently have an Intel i5-7500 processor, cooled with a Thermaltake Frio Silent 12, with 16GB of Corsair Vengeance LPX white RAM, a EVGA GTX 960 FTW ACX 2.0 4GB graphics card, sitting on an ASUS Z270I ROG STRIX Gaming motherboard, powered by a Corsair RM650I power supply. I am using a WD Blue 500GB m.2 SSD for OS and program files, and a Seagate Firecude 2TB 2.5" hybrid hard drive for mass storage. But in a few months I will be swapping the CPU for an i7-6700k and GPU for an Asus GTX 980 Ti STRIX OC 6GB, both coming from one of my other builds. Both to be cooled on a custom water cooled loop. So this small build will pack a powerful punch.
So to wrap this all up I think this case is amazing value for the price and despite my harsh criticism it does so many things very well. It’s so easy to build in and I think it looks great. I think that if you are looking for a compact case that can fit a lot of high-end hardware in it and keep it very cool then this may be the best choice. It is also quite small and compact so it's easy to move around, and if it's sitting around in a moving vehicle the cube shape gives it a lower centre of gravity meaning it won't tip as easily (I know this from experience). So for those of you interested I highly recommend the Thermaltake Core V1!

For an mITX new build these cases are very hard to beat as you can remove all the panels and use initially as a de facto wire frame give easy access and fitting to components etc. Very big plus.
There are two niggles with the case:
(a) Hard Drive attachment is fiddly but does seem to yield quiet drives (if mechanical).
(b) The 200mm front fan is 3-pin and runs at a constant 800 rpm.
The latter is the most concern, however two years ago getting 4-pin PWM 200mm fan was extremely rare. nowadays there are about half a dozen replacements available, one of which is PWM (at a cost of £25!). The solution is to add simple a fan controller that lowers the voltage to the fan (this requires a bit of modding). Was disappointed that the upgraded re-designed case doesn't do this.
That said on my black versions which have been running for two years there is little dust ingression into the case. The dust/foam in front of the 200mm fan does an excellent job of preventing dust getting onto components albeit at the cost of a bit of hoovering now and then. Note, most of the fan noise is actually due to the dust/form filter rather than the fan itself. Surprisingly the dust filter on the PSU also does a good job and clearly required. I have not found the two 80mm fan slots on the back to be of much use - no overclocking - as the front 200mm creates enough positive pressure to make any 80mm a bit redundant. The unit does get noisier over time, due to fan wear and dust - you can't remove the front dust/foam filter so cleaning is only ever partial.
One disappointment is that on the 'Snow' case the 200mm fan was the standard black in colour - there are white ones and even LED replacement ones available - and of course there are no white mITX motherboards. I did however feel that the 'Snow' had a little extra quality in the metal thickness and bits-and-bobs (more than plenty) that come with the case. Maybe mistaken but that was the impression.
One improvement over the older black cases I have is that the four base stands are better quality, older ones had very cheap plastic which could easily be broken with poor care.
If Thermaltake could add a LED front fan and speed control then an extra £15 would be well worth it, as is there redesign to this case is minor, so I stuck with the older design. £35 or thereabouts is very good value.
Note: there are some motherboards that allow direct voltage control of a 3-pin fan. The 200mm can drop to 50% minimum and I have found anything under 75% is super quiet if not near silent (very handy when not gaming).
Oh and a small benefit is that these types of cases are very easy to stack under a desk!
