𝚁𝚎𝚟𝚒𝚎𝚠:
What a happy accident stumbling upon this author. When I first read “Worth The Chase” I thought “wow, this author has the “IT” factor”. So when I saw that “Enemies With Benefits”, Ben’s story, was coming I had to get my hands on this book. Ben is the jokester of this crew and you can’t help but swoon & laugh with everything that leaves his lips. And his counterpart, Makayla, gives it right back, giving you that same feeling. Hollyfield brings something special to her books, that little bit of magic that has you completely falling in love with her books. I devoured this book in a day, I was unable to put it down. The humor, the banter, the drama…not your typical love story, but a love story none the less. I am a forever fan of J.D. Hollyfield and I highly recommend “Enemies To Lovers”.
Whew the drama
Ben and Mak hooked me from the very first. Their banter of back and forth. Whew. You hated them minute and then loved them another. Flashbacks in books are quickly becoming my favorite thing. I love find out the the deep secrets and the 2 characters have and why they are in the positions they are in currently. I loved this romcom and I’m glad we finally got to get to their story. And the chemistry between them… hot! You know you’re going to get a great book when Hollyfield writes it. I received this ARC through the publisher and I am voluntarily reviewing this book, opinions are my own
Enemies with all the Benefits!!!
Holy hot dynamite disco dog! Is it just me, or has every character in this series gotten more attractive and the plot lines grown in intensity? I could gush for days about all the giggling and swooning I've been doing while simultaneously trying to guess what will happen next.
Mak and Ben are quite the pair bringing all these feelings to us. While most of our heartbreak and angst is read through flashbacks, there is always that level of trust to be built in the present that helps bring these two together. There is also the added slight suspense factor that keeps those pages moving. Just when you start to get comfortable and all...And don't even get me started on the the hotness that is our Hero. All the Ben-efits you can handle. (See what I did there? Bow chigga wow-wow!)
EwB can be read as a standalone but I feel like you would be missing out on a lot of fun not starting from the beginning. Hollyfield's books read like her personality: charming, hilarious, and full of heart (just don't ask her where babies come from).
