These days there are very few things that I actually go to the store and buy. I mostly order things online. Simply because the price is usually better and its just more convenient. Cables are one of those things I usually go to the store and purchase so that I can physically see the cable that I am ordering. There are just so many manufacturers that produce different types of cables of different qualities and repackage and relabel them for specific retailers. You just never really know the level of quality you are getting from cables you order online. Its on of these hit and miss things. Some cables though. Especially conversion cables of a specific length. You just have to order online, because you will be hard pressed to find them in the stores. My point is that these cable matters cables are quality made for their price point. This is my second time purchasing them and you plug them in and forget about them they work so well. The wire terminals seem to be solid and the connection terminals themselves seem to be well made. I do like that these specific cables are fairly thin and cable matters ever has thinner cables in certain connections, called the Ultra Slim cables. So its nice to know where the brand of cables that I can purchase online with out having to worry about if they are good cables or not. Trying to drudge through the thousands and thousands of different cable brands online and look at reviews is just a head ache. I will still be purchasing my cables in the store for the most part, because cables are one of those things that I usually dont know I need right up until I need it, but when the need arises for me to order my cables online, Cable Matters will definitely be my go to.

For whatever reasons, HDMI cables especially tend to be thick and super inflexible.
I had a long HDMI cable, but started to malfunction. I found this HDMI cable which sounded too good to be true since this is polar opposite of regular HDMI cables.
I can't express enough how happy I am with this too good to be true HDMI cable. This usually sits on a tv stand, but does not get bulky; I can easily bring it to my couch to connect to iPad to watch and control videos from my iPad without having to go to the TV stand.
This has improved quality of my life - it is simply the best!

They mark the cable at both ends to indicate the orientation of the cable. I thought they were kidding, I’ve owned dozens of HDMI cables that were all omnidirectional. Not this one. If you connect backwards it WILL NOT work. I struggled for a few minutes until I swapped the cable ends. Voila! Picture and sound! Now that I know I’m good but it was a bugger to sort out while prepping for a presentation.

I bought this to hook up my Mac Mini to my big screen TV. This thing works only if you plug in the hdmi cable while both the tv and mac on. If the mac sleeps and you wake it up, no signal is sent to the TV rendering the whole thing useless for my purposes. I replaced it with a bidirectional hdmi cable and it works perfectly.

I tried connecting this cable from my Onkyo Receiver to my new AWOL Vision 3500 projector and got an intermittent connection. Then tried it directly from my Panasonic Blu-Ray player to the projector. Same thing. I tested this cable on my Denon receiver, and confirm that it is unidirectional, but it FAILED the 8K (40GBPS) test consistently. It passed the 4K (18GBPS) test. Not good enough for my system. I tested all of my other NEW 4K cables, they all passed the 8K (40GBPS) test with the exception of the 10' Cable Matters cable. I was surprised that a variety of my older (but thicker/stiffer) cables passed the 8K (40GBPS) test, so I will be connecting my system with the tested cable.

Good cable. Just make sure to pay attention to the in/out direction, (One plug is for the source, the other the receiver). There's obviously some boosting or signal cleaning going on inside the dongles. Whatever they're doing, it works.
