julia David's book was Wonderful! Delightful! Heart warming! Enchanting and Captivating all at the same time. I was sad to see it end and can't wait for the next one. It's now for sale by a street vendo on D.C. But lucky for you if you are not in DC you can get it on Amazon. Buy it and "pass it on."

IF you’re looking for a different take on a historical romance this is a perfect book for you.

For me Levi Graham is a wonderful hero, rough around the edges, clueless about women, and in need of a wife to take away the loneliness he doesn’t even know he’s feeling. I love how he’s sensitive, even in the midst of all his gruffness, and how he evolves into the husband Allison needs.

Allison Kent has no memory, no direction, and citified ways, yet I found her to be the perfect match for Levi. Torn between trying to figure out who she is in connection to Levi, and who she was, she grows into a strong woman and a great match for Levi.

I loved the strong sense of familial love In the Graham family, and the way the brothers played off of each other. Patch rounded out the family as a loyal canine with personality. I also loved the thread of faith that wove itself through the story.

Well worth the read, I recommend it.

This is a jewel.

The characters are very well developed, and there is a lovely romance that develops nicely, too.

The story line has a good flow to it so that the pages keep turning. I like that kind of novel. The faith that runs through the story is just right, and a bit different coming from the male point of view. There was a bit of overkill on the angst part, and a bit of rehashing--but that goes with the kind of story this is dealing with amnesia. You'll have that.

There's a touch of humor that brings the story to life. Description is very light. You don't get a good feel for the dense woods, nor can you "smell" the wood smoke, nor do you "feel" just how cold the river water is. Some flowers noted are blooming in the wrong season... but, if you don't care about that stuff like I do, you'll get engrossed in the story and forget about it.

Worthy read, and worth the money.

This story is such a wonderful read. The romance is spot on and gave me all the warm and fuzzies. The Christian focus was done well enough for me. It wasn’t overly preachy and managed to offer a gentle exploration of faith. I particularly liked how the author tackled aspects of grief.

The only thing that felt slightly off was the use of very modern colloquialisms that jarred with the historical setting. Otherwise, it was a wonderful read and a fun amnesia romance on top of everything else. Beautiful all round and made me cry several times.

This is my first time reading a book from this author. I loved the writing style and that there wasn't one single typo or mixup of names. I loved the premise of the story. I had a very hard time even liking Allison. I truly disliked her character for almost the entire book. I understand she grew up rich and very spoiled, but even with a memory loss, she was still basically a brat! She treated Levi, who saved her from death more than once, horribly! I really disliked her attitude and how she spoke to him. Levi...I enjoyed his character for the most part, except for his anger issues. He's a believer, so why such angry outbursts? Benjamin was a lot of fun, but I really wish Levi would have spoken up for him to lay off on the flirting with Allison. I also wish there would have been better communication between Allison and Levi. She even says towards the end of the book "Why do we we talk and not even hear each other?" I loved the gospel message so prevalent throughout the story, although when Allison prayed with Levi to receive Jesus, I didn't see any change in her heart attitude at all. Except when James Sr was very ill towards the end.

I don't want to sound like a complainer, but this would have been a fantastic book if Allison would have become a kinder, more thankful young woman.

One wouldn't know it was a historical Christian novel from its cover. Many Bible versus involving an entitled girl duped by a deceitful uncle who tosses her over a cliff in search of her travel money. A trapper and loner finds her, nursing her back to health. Now evolves a conflict between spoiled and non-religious vs. a minimalist and religious. Allison never knew true family while Levi had a demonstrative family with a deep faith. Many ups and down with good character development between complicated vs uncomplicated viewpoints, particularly from their conflicts and differences. Despite much descriptive analysis throughout, it ended very quickly without much explanation as to the reasoning behind it. A relatively sweet and clean book for those who favor a good Christian novel.

Dear Julia, thank you for writing this book. God speaks to us in so may ways and I believe this was my time with Him. Thank you for what you wrote at the end, sometimes we do feel we are alone -even in a family of many, but as we keep our eyes on Him He will never steer us wrong. Again thank you.
