Really liked the entire book from beginning to end. Didn't like the missing 3 pages, which I assume will be corrected in the future. Characters were believable and are well developed. Liked the realities of dealing with aging parent and siblings who need special care. like a good mystery with a very interesting conclusion, this is it.

I like this series about two women—of different backgrounds and expertise—teaming up to solve crimes. The academic forensic psychologist and a tough, no nonsense murder cop are working on their second case. Both are trying to get along better with the other in order to become a more effective team. It’s not been easy.

Good police procedural and grisly mutilation murders are interwoven with the women’s personal stories and character development. Four stars because the mystery isn’t very complex, so it’s not difficult to pinpoint the culprit.

Great subject matter. A super idea for a timely warning of some precautions when using the internet. Hopefully the warning will be administered. The thought provoking message was expertly woven into a great crime mystery. The character development was exceptional. The mental traits were captured within the characters. The intelligence of grooming at various age groups and different genders was very well established by the fictional characters.

I hope you enjoy this thought provoking story and take heed of possible internet dangers

My rating is less about the writing and more about the content. The characters continue to develop and grow. The story progressed at a decent pace. But the grooming and mutilation that were at the core of the story just got to me over time. While the descriptions were tasteful and the crimes themselves were not glorified, the repetition of such evil actions over and over made it feel that was a bigger focus than the progress of the investigation. While enjoy the characters, I will not continue this series as I personally do not find it entertaining or informative.

I really did enjoy the story it was fast moving and pretty exciting not a lot of killing stabbing and Mayham that is in so many books nowadays but a good old fashion to women find the killer. It is worth five stars I deducted one for use of that bad word it wasn’t necessary but I guess everybody has to put it in but the storyline was good and the word was not there very often and I really enjoyed the story and the characters and I really have to recommend the book

I have been and will always be a great fan of Sally Rigby. Her stories are very well researched and flawlessly written, and her characters , especially Whitney, shows emotionally growth from one story to the next. Her plots are excellent, and guessing in mid-story who the perp happens to be is no easy task. I'm patting myself in the back this time because I read as a writer, and when I realized it could be the person who actually was, I wrote it down and the reason why I had thought so. Well, it was and I'm feeling quite smug at this moment.
Very highly recommended to anyone who wants to enjoy great entertainment and challenge her/his mind.

Cavendish and Walker are on another complicated face, pedophiles are being killed with some grusome details. They explore many avenues before they figure out a way to set a trap. Always interesting and fun read and love the evolution of the relationship between George and Whitney
Reviewed in the United States on November 13, 2022
Slow moving plot, replete with too much detail as to be tedious at times. In the end, the takedown was way too easy and unsatisfying. Whitney, George, or both needed a relationship with a man to balance their unsatisfactory relationships with both their bosses.

George and Whitney are superb again. A very thorough police procedural which kept me hooked from the start again! George and Whitney bounce of each other rather nicely. It's so easy to relate to George. So very recognizable behaviour.

The theme of this thriller is grooming. Depicted from the inside with a lot of insight which makes for great reading.

This is a MUST READ, It held me until the last word! This the second book in this series and is even better than the first. There were so many twists and turns that kept me in suspense and holding my breath. I couldn't put it down. What a ride! The relationship between DCI Whitney Walker and Forensic Psychologist, Dr Georgina Cavendish, "George", is further developed as they understand each other better as they work together to solve these gruesome murders. I can't wait for book 3 to come out.

Slow start, but it picked up quickly enough. I soon grew to like the DCI Whitney and George. I also found myself concerned for Whitney's mother and brother in the back story. But it's a good story and well told.
