To most people I’ve always been known as the smart one.
The level headed, easy-going, laid back Bennett brother. Steady as a rock …unshakable.
My future was carved out. All I had to do was stay focused.

That all changed the night I met Claire Dixon.
Beautiful, crazy, wild—opposite of me in every way.
She was impossible to resist.
For the first time in my life, I gave into temptation, falling hard and fast along the way.

Letting her go once was the biggest mistake of my life.
I waited, watching as she became a woman more beautiful and more desirable than I could ever imagine.

Then my time came. I saw my shot, took it, and never looked back.
What I didn’t know was some mistakes are irreparable.
Claire thinks our happily ever after is impossible, but I have other plans.
No matter how dirty, how wicked, or how underhanded I have to play… I’m going to prove she’s wrong. And I’m going to love every minute of it.

The beginning was great and then......fizzle fizzle whomp whomp.

The beginning angst was amazing! The h has/had been in love with Dr MC dreamy for years and years and when the straw breaks the camels back (he asks her to move in with him because it "makes sense" 😳), she's done with him and wasting her time loving him. Well, no sireeeeeeee he did not like that one bit. So he gets all JP and and moves with agile Olympian moves to get her 😍

Then......there's a kidnapping of the h by some other dude and there are more characters and the vibe of the book totally changed and then it ended with him saying I love you! And ahe says I love you and hea 😂

Whompppeee whomp 🤷😂😂

Since Mathis Bennett was introduced to Bizzy’s best friend, Claire Nixon, in book one of Ahren Sanders’ The Bennett Brothers series, I’ve watched their interactions with rapt attention, waiting for them to give into the sexual attraction that’s been there from the start, so I was beyond excited to finally get their story in Heartthrob, and let me tell you, Ahren Sanders DID NOT disappoint; in fact, Dr. Delectable is my favorite Bennett brother…just don’t tell Shaw or Nick;)

All three of the heroines in this series are kickass human beings who deserve
their every dream to come true, and for the longest time, Mathis has been Claire’s biggest desire, and while he’s been upfront with Claire about what this is between them and why it can’t be anything more than what it is, I don’t blame her for holding out hope…for allowing Mathis to invade her heart, not just her body…for honestly believing that he would change his mind the more time they spent together, and even though she might have set herself up for heartbreak, the fact that Mathis can’t see what’s always between them means he doesn’t deserve a woman like Claire, even if Mathis’ reasons logically make sense.

Claire has been both Bizzy and Grace’s sounding board in her two friends’ dealings with Shaw and Nick Bennett, so it makes sense for them to repay Claire’s insights and honesty, which is exactly what Bizzy and Grace do when they realize that Claire has been hiding quite a bit from them, which makes it the perfect time to turn Claire’s words against her, and it’s a good thing they do because with a much clearer picture of what’s been happening between Claire and Mathis, Bizzy and Grace along with Shaw and Nick can figure out what it’s going to take to repair what’s broken when it comes to Mathis and Claire’s relationship.

In Hotshot and Sexy Six, readers saw what it took for Shaw and Nick to realize what they’d be missing out on if they didn’t step up for the women they loved and make things right, so one would think that Mathis would learn from his brothers’ mistakes and figure things out way before he reached the point of no return with Claire, but because he’s guided by his intellect and not his emotions, Mathis needed a bit more help, so it’s a good thing that his brothers and their spouses were more than happy to step in and help both Mathis and Claire get out of their own way and live their best life together.

The bond that the three Bennett brothers share as well as how connected they and their significant others are is one reason why I adore this series. These six individuals make one heck of a team, stepping up for one another in a multitude of ways, letting it be known that if anyone messes with one of them, they mess with all of them, making them a group of people that no one wants as an enemy.
Because readers are privy to both Mathis and Claire’s point of view, we see firsthand the reality of their feelings for each other and the heartache and anguish that one or the other feels at crucial times in their story. Claire is definitely known for her larger-than-life personality, but Ahren Sanders does a great job of illustrating Claire's other side - the softer side that she hates but one that shows who she is beneath all that snark. And with that full view of Claire’s personality, I can’t help but have a bit of a girl crush on her and since Mathis is my favorite Bennett brother, it’s only fitting that these two also make up my favorite Bennett couple and it was so worth waiting for them to fight for their happily ever after.

There’s one plot line in the story that readers may think doesn’t mesh well with the rest of the events in the book, and I’ll admit that I was a little leery about where it would go and why it was there, but the more insights provided and the fact that no one got hurt made me understand why it’s there and what it allows readers to see about Claire...about the idea of family...about people being just what other people need to make it through traumatic and dramatic situations.

I’ve been a huge Ahren Sanders’ fan since I first read Reed’s Reckoning, and my love for her storytelling and her characters has only grown since that book. I love her emotional romances and it’s clear that she puts her whole heart into every book, every chapter, every sentence, and every word, which is why Heartthrob is one fantastic read.

Claire Dixon thought Mathis Bennett was the one, she should have thought one night stand. What Claire doesn't realize is that Mathis is walking away for her own good and to focus on establishing his career. They come together again though and while they do not hide they are together around family and friends it has a detachment that has Claire deciding she has had enough and walks away.

Mathis knows Claire is the one for him, but Mathis has a way of thinking his quick bullet point responses are understood by all. Clearly he has some making up to do to show Claire how important she is to him, but will the blunt speaking feisty woman give him a chance?

This was a lot of fun. I thoroughly enjoyed the evolution of Mathis. Claire and Mathis are a really intriguing couple and the story is not only about them building their relationship, it takes a whole unexpected turn that catapulted the story to another level.

What I say about Mathis Bennett?
Let's see, he's a Doctor and he's hot perfect combination. But let's delve a little deeper, he's also been head over heels in love with Clair Dixon for years. And there's an added bonus she's a nurse.
The thing I really love about their story is there was a lot of push and pull and to be honest I Really thought that Mathis might have been too little too late..
One thing is for sure those Bennett Brothers are 100% swoon worthy

Such a hot sexy doctor & extremely clueless when it comes to romance. These two were such a great read! A hot steamy read, with chemistry that oozes off the pages. I highly recommend this book & series! Told in dual POV.

And the drama is back!
description

I love it, I missed it in the last one. I thought this might be a bit dull as the big drama starts in the beginning and I read it was drawn out in the end. It might have been a little long in the middle (not to me), but the end is exciting and adds a bit of suspense. Nothing too extreme where I'd consider it romantic suspense, but still enough action that I did not expect. LOVED it!

Claire is a great h and Mathis is the typical alpha Bennet H. Such a great combo and always a pleasure to get Grace's grandpa Roy in the mix. We get great snippets with all the side characters we've grown to love through the series. I thought it was a perfect way to end it.

Sidenote: I will say the mild cheesiness to these books doesn't bother me, but the first time sleeping together and the H says "I'm honored to have spent the night with you"
... really??

Other than that extremely enjoyable read.

This book is much different than Nick’s book. The first half of the book is a fast paced coming together and theoretically, it could’ve ended there. But as with the other book, there has to be some sort of conflict and suddenly have we have the second half of the book. I don’t know if it was necessary, but I guess it wasn’t a bad thing. The appeal of the Bennett Brothers is their ridiculous, over-the-top, possessive natures. But, it is appealing to have a man so in love, so obsessed with you and your well-being.

My favorite scene of this entire book came when the couple is in Boston. I’m not going to go into detail because I don’t want to add any spoilers, but too often when there is a challenge to a relationship by another female, the author will write the story so that the male will sit by and do nothing to reassure a female. Not in the scene! It was pure perfection! You’ll know what I mean when you read it. ;-)

So I am going to miss the Bennett Family this a good ending to the series. What can not love when you get a sexy, over protective,Alpha Doctor . And funny wise cracking, smart ,good heart wild woman. Love reading the flashback of their relationship that was told second hand through the last two books and see what happening with details. Claire was just to much to read and just funny ass hell. Plus her interaction with Grace & Brizzy should had been a short story's. My only critic is that I felt it just a little long winded toward the end and the bad guy was not interesting for me to say I care. Other then that it a good ending to good series. Looking forward to new read .

Dr. Delicious is delectible

Once again this author blows me away. I love the Bennett boys and their Alfa ways! I have to say Mathis surprised me. He has quickly became my favorite Bennett man. What a woman wouldn't do to be a #bennettbabe! This story will suck you in and make you continue to flip the pages. The hotness factor is off the charts. Their continued dedication and love for the children's oncology department will bring you to tears. I love most of all that we get the full effect of all the Bennett's!

Although not necessary, I read the previous two books about the Bennett Brothers, Shaw (Hotshot) and Nick (Sexy Six). When I learned that the third brother, Mathis was going to get his story as well, there was no doubt that I was going to one click this highly anticipated but sadly final book in the series. Mathis and Claire (Heartthrob) did not disappoint and I think they may have edged out as one of my favorites. Heartthrob has it all - romance, steam, angst, mystery, tears, and lots of sass with laughs. Who wouldn't love a Dr. Delicious of their very own?

Dr. Delicious delivers

I loved Mathis and what do we call him?!? Heartthrob or Dr. Delicious or Mathis! What name can make a girl fall in love with Mathis just like Claire does! I love Ahren Sanders and I always wonder if she can out do us with her next book. Ahren just did out herself with with Mathis and Claire’s love story!!! Amazing book! I cannot wait to see what Ahren writes next!!!

I absolutely LOVED this book! Claire & Mathis’ story is both exciting and extremely heart warming. And of course very sexy. LOTS of sexy times.

I love the Bennett men, especially when it’s just the three of them! They made me laugh out loud and I couldn’t help but love them even more in this book.

If you’re a Bennett family fan you will definitely want to read this book.

What a fitting end to a fabulous series! Mathis and Claire’s story was just what I expected, a well written finale to the series. One of the things I loved most was the reader got to revisit the previous two couples and they had a huge part to play in this book. It saddens me that this was the last book, but I was very happy with the way it ended.

Great Read

I fell in love with the Bennett brothers a while back and Mathis was no different. Heartthrob was a great read and I really enjoyed it.

My only thing is that if you are going to continue using secondary characters from one book to the next, please ensure you use the same name for the characters you are referencing.
