Mena's story is electric (pun intended). Having been imprisoned for the last Mena has a lot of catching up to do. First and foremost she must reconnect with her estranged sister and savior, Aurelia.Through circumstances beyond her control, Mena has been thrust into a war between the Phoenix and the Wraiths, a war that she is unknowingly about to be the star warrior in.

Asher knows instantly that Mena is his mate, but he has to convince her of this He knows she feels, it, but will she allow herself to give in to the bond they share? When Asher's path is cleared for him to pursue his mate, he makes it his mission to not only show her the love she has been denied, but to keep her safe at all costs.

As with Scattered Ashes, author Annie Anderson has created a fictional world that draws you in. I am not an avid paranormal reader, but this book and series keep me thoroughly entertained. My mind doesn't work really well in the fantasy realm, so the fact that I am kept intrigued is something to be said for the writing and story telling ability of the writer.

I love the relationships that form in this book and the path they take. Annie Anderson does not just put Mena and Aurelia together and have instant sisters, she allows their relationship to grow and trust to build. From the reintegration of Mena into today's society, to the battle scenes and the oh so hot sex, this book offers a bit of everything. There were ugly cry and thigh squeezing moments and then the occasional ...oh damn. Even if you are not a "paranormal fan" I would still suggest this book to you. Take a chance and read a great story. My only complaint.... the cliffie...GAH!!!! Why must I wait for more?????

I happily rate this book 5 stars.

**I was gifted a complimentary copy of this book for an honest review, but I liked it so much, I purchased a copy.

Even though she had been imprisoned for the last 50 years, Mena was one tough cookie. She didn’t simper or act weak, but took charge of a situation where she could and helped when she couldn’t. She didn’t deter from relying on those when she was in need which says a lot about her mental state. I also liked how Anderson’s didn’t have an immediate connection with Aurelia or Asher, allowing Mena to form trusting bonds organically instead.

Asher was strong and deadly yet also very in tough with his emotions. He didn’t hesitate to admit when he was vulnerable or concede when he needed help. Seeing him lose control around Mena was actually rather cute and funny, especially since she didn’t cotton on as quickly what was happening like everyone else did.

Mena and Asher’s book was one wild escapade! Things opened with a bang and never let up through the very end. The flash backs explained the guilt Mena suffered from but the book was very much in the now and the battle that’s gearing up around Mena and her new found family.

I am definitely looking forward to Evan’s story! Talk about a real spitfire...

Falling Ashes (Ashes to Ashes #2)
by Annie Anderson

Annie Anderson is an another author booklovers should keep an eye on, her writing and stories are captivating. This is her second book in her Phoenix series. Falling Ashes is just as good as the first one.

Ash and Mena’s story is full of passion, enough of twist and turns. You get really involved in and wanting to know what will happen next.

I found the characters to be all lovable, I really like the interaction between them all. I found myself entertained immensely; I thought the plot was really thought out that makes you want to read the 3rd in the series.

I am really interested to see where the series will go next.

What will happen to the wraiths and the phoenix’s?

What about Evan…Oh.Em.G!

Tears, laughter and hot passion what else would you need to pass a lazy afternoon?

Great solid story, overall 4 stars.

Fast and exciting read. This is the story of twin sisters Aurelia and Mena. Both Phoenix, both dangerous. In a world inhabited by humans, Phoenix and Wraiths try to stay under the radar. There is a war brewing and sides are drawn. Mena is truly mated to Asher in the first ever Phoenix, Wraith mating. Can't wait for the next book

Falling Ashes
By: Annie Anderson

4.5 Star review by Kristie K.

Synopsis (from Goodreads):

Mena Constantine is pissed off.
Finally freed from her fifty-year imprisonment by a maniacal leader, she is desperately trying to recover and get her life back. Problem is, the life she had is long gone. Struggling under the weight of her memories and healing from the wounds of her captivity, she can't seem to catch a break. Every waking moment, death seems like a relief she would welcome.

Asher Crane is a dead man.
As a Guardian to the King, his only purpose in life is to keep the King alive. And he's failing. Miserably. With the King ill, the Queen dying, and zero plans for a successor, he's pretty much screwed. Because if the King dies, the law says Asher dies, too.

As these two wounded souls collide in a series of bloody and unfortunate events, they will clutch to the last shreds of life before death beats down their door.

My Review:

After reading the first book in this series, Scattered Ashes, I didn’t think we could get a more bad-ass female lead than Aurelia Constantine. The petite little Phoenix is a smart-talking, ass-kicking woman that can hold her own in any fight. And though I can’t really say that her twin, Mena Constantine, has surpassed Aurelia….I would definitely say she is at the very least her equal. I mean, really….who can survive fifty years of constant torture and come out with their kind heart, compassion, and gentle soul intact? Let alone their sanity?! Mena manages to do exactly that, and does it with such grace and strength it left me in awe. Once she was released from her long captivity, her concerns were never for herself, but always for that of her sister Aurelia and the people she had adopted as her family. Even when nightmares of her torture haunt her dreams and cause her powers to decimate the medical floor, her first thoughts are of the only other patient in the room. A man she has never met, yet her concern for him outweighs any thoughts of herself.

“Don’t help me,” I choke out, “help him. The fire won’t kill me. Get him first.”

And these qualities don’t even scratch the surface on how totally cool she is. Watching as she slowly adapts to living again, as she accepts the love of her sister, and learns to live without guilt, was heartwarming. As if that wasn’t enough, seeing her open herself up to the love of a man, and discover her sexuality with her newfound mate? Wow! Sweet, sexy, and totally intense. In all honesty, a great deal of that is because Asher Crane is completely swoon-worthy. As one of the Wraith King’s personal Guardians, he is built like a warrior….tall, muscular, and completely gorgeous. Practically raised by the Wraith King and Queen, he is completely shattered by the knowledge that the people he loves as his own parents, are dying. Though Asher is no stranger to violence, pain, and death, the thought of losing them is only compounded by the fact that law states the Guardians of the King will follow him into death. Under normal circumstances, this wouldn’t have even been an issue for the noble Guardian….but when he first lays eyes on Mena, his world is turned upside down. How cruel is fate that it would give him his mate when his time is so limited? Ugh…the agony!! Unable to fight the pull between him and Mena, he gives in, and my Kindle app nearly caught fire from the heat! The man is seriously sexy, but gentle and sweet when Mena is near. Which, let’s face it, is always!

“I’ve wanted to kiss you since the second I heard your voice,” I murmur agains her mouth, and that pulls her eyes up to mine again. Disbelief colors them as if she doesn’t realize how gone I am for her.

This book took me on a roller coaster ride of emotions. From fear, to anger, to terror, to love, to sadness, to happiness, and I loved every minute of it! The only thing I would ask for if I could have anything else, would be more time with the sisters. I would love to have seen them bond more, talk more, hash things out. All in all, though…I absolutely loved this book, and absolutely can’t wait for book three! Ms. Anderson, if you are reading this….I’ll be waiting!!!! (Please hurry!)

Story of Mena, the sister of Aurellia and the oldest living Aegis, was found after years of torture and pain. She was missing and in seclusion for over 50 years and has to learn how to survive. Asher is the Guardian to the ailing king and a wraith. As he is bound, when the king dies, so does he. The first moment he heard her voice he knew she was his mate. Now, to convince her of that.
This was a well told story about power and pain. Ms. Anderson understands her world and her characters. I love it when I'm pulled into a story with familiar people and places. You can really feel the love between the 'family' in this story. I laughed and cried right along with them. I can't wait to read the next book 'Rising Ashes'.

*I kindly received an Arc in exchange for an honest review*

In Falling Ashes, we finally meet Aurelia's sister Mena, who has been held captive by the evil Iva for the last fifty years. Mena has been broken to the point where she no longer feels the pain inflicted on her body. But her mind is strong and her spirit stronger still, if only she could overcome the guilt that plagues her life and heal the scars left on her soul from her heartbreaking past.

While recuperating, she meets handsome Guardian to the King, Asher Crane. He has his own list of problems, the most important being the imminent demise of his beloved King and Queen, in which the law states Ash must die too. With so little time left in this world, the last thing Ash needs is to fall in love with the electrifyingly beautiful Aegis but being a Wraith means he doesn't have a choice in the fact his heart has claimed her nor can the man in him fight the pull of the feisty yet fragile woman he has come to know.

He wants to take her away from it all, let her heal in peace and after a life in hiding let Mena find out who she really is but with a death sentence hanging over them, unease between the Wraiths and the Phoenixes growing day by day and Mena in possession of a power that many would kill to obtain, can these two ever find peace? And does Mena still have it within her to save the people she loves as well as herself?

I really loved this second instalment in the Ashes to Ashes series. Scattered Ashes was the first paranormal book I had picked up in a few years and I was instantly drawn in by Annie's imagination and the strength of her characters, particularly the female leads who are not the damsels in distress we have come to expect in this genre but are stronger and sassier even through adversity.

Mena gives Aurelia a run for her money in the badass stakes, surprising I know, but she's hilariously strong willed and entertaining and I loved every moment spent inside her head. And Asher, well I just got myself a new book boyfriend, sexy Asher has it all, wit, good looks, sensitivity and well, lets just say he knows how to treat a lady in the bedroom or any other room or surface he cares to show his appreciation for the woman he adores.

All of the characters we got to know in Scattered Ashes are also back and I am really looking forward to the next instalment and although I can't wait to find out what happens to Nicola (and hopefully understand her a bit more) I am praying that Annie is going to write a story for Evan and West because I just know it's going to be a shit-hot action packed adventure that's most likely going to rip my heart out...no pressure there Annie :) Oh and just so you know...I'm claiming West, just putting that out there now so there's no arguments down the line... Okay Ladies

If you haven't read paranormal before or would like to try something fresh and contemporary to this genre I strongly recommend this series.

This is the second book in the Ashes to Ashes series and this series just keeps getting better! This author does an incredible job of creating a world filled with fascinating creatures and non-stop action that makes you never want to leave and I loved every second of reading this! This is Mena and Asher’s story and Mena has been imprisoned for the last 50 years by the maniacal leader of the phoenixes Iva and she’s just recently been freed by her sister and her group of warriors. She’s having a difficult time dealing with finally processing everything that’s happened to her while she was held captive and with keeping her incredibly strong powers under control.
We meet her sister Aurelia in book one of this series, which I strongly recommend reading before this one so you can better understand everything that’s going on here and have a better understanding of the characters that are previously introduced. Aurelia is also a powerful phoenix and along with the help of her mate Rhys she is determined to make up for lost time from her estranged sister and to help her overcome the things she’s gone through. Asher is a wraith and one of the warriors who’s been fighting alongside Aurelia and he knows from the second he sets eyes on Mena that she is his mate. The problem is he’s currently attached to his king and queen and his queen is slowly dying. Once she goes, both the king and Asher will follow right behind. These are two mates who are going to have to face the fight of their lives in order to be able to be together and start off with everything working against them, which will only serve to make their victory that much sweeter in the end.
I loved everything about this story and I definitely plan to continue reading this series. There’s so much happening in the pages of this book and it grabs hold of you and doesn’t let go up until the very end. I wanted this story to keep on going and can’t wait to see what happens next. The secondary characters only add to make everything that much more interesting and I hope they all end up with stories of their own down the line. I especially can’t wait to read more about Aurelia’s best friend Evan since she’s truly one of my favorite characters. This is a highly addictive paranormal series that I can’t get enough of and I recommend it to anyone to read!

This is the second book in this series and they must be read in order. At the end of the first book they find Aurelia's sister Mena who has been missing for a long time. They believe they have done away with Iva. However not everyone does believe that Iva is truly gone. Aurelia and Rhys have brought Mena to the wraiths. They are helping Aurelia with overthrowing Iva and now are helping to make sure things get back to the way they belong. Then Mena meets a wraith named Asher, he is one of the King's guards. Asher feels an instant pull towards Mena. While a wraith and a Phoenix have never mated before it's not like they get a choice either. Mena has no clue what is happening between but knows she has never felt safer then when Asher is near. This leads to more problems as the king is dying because his wife is dying. Asher's life is tied to the King's because of the view the guard takes. Asher doesn't want to tie himself to Mena when it would just end in both if their deaths. However he can't seem to stay away from her either. Will Mena and Asher get a chance to be happy when they are surrounded by so much death and trouble? Not to mention there are people after Mena for her powers. The characters in this series are fantastic and I can't get enough of them. I loved getting to read more about the characters in the first book and I can't wait for the third book in this series. Annie writes a fantastic story. I get completely drawn into the story and wish I could be a part of their world. I love the paranormal genre. This book has action, romance, and so much more. Mena struggles with what has happened to her while to was captured and how the world is now. She worries that her being around her friends and family will just put them in danger and that maybe she should just run away. Mena has been through so much and is still so strong. Asher is torn between duty and the woman he loves. It doesn't matter than he barely knows her, she is his mate and will always come first. Aurelia and Rhys want to help Mena but aren't completely sure how. Everyone is going through this together plus dealing with their own things at the same time. I highly recommend this book. Another great job Annie.

I was given this book in return for an honest review.

Holy Cheese and crackers....

All right, I need to thank Andie Anderson for allowing me a copy of Falling Ashes to read in exchange for an honest review.

Did I enjoy FA? Hell to the yes! Every word had me on the edge of my seat. Like literally. It also got yelled at a few times as I went through.

When we meet Mena, Ari's twin sister, she's been abused, locked away for the last fifty years and feeling like she can't be trusted. Her Aegis has been the one saving grace. She's been able to fight against the captors but not much. Iva kept her drained.

Now that she is "free" she has a few hurdles to over come. One is to keep her inner goddess under control and then her attraction to Ash... but why fight someone or something that is gonna win out anyway?

As the group (Ari, Rhys, Ash, Cam, and Evan) deal with the King and Queen dying it's Ari who figures out what's happens to the queen. She's too far gone but that's to Ari figuring out what was happening, Mena destroying what was hurting her and John (the King) at her side, the queen has a little longer to be here. But not much.

Ash, a guardian of the king never expected to fall for a Phoenix. He was a Wraith after all. But gal is just what he did. Flat on his ass actually. (Snorts) In Mena's defense she didn't mean to shock the crab cakes out of him. But once it's happened the way Ash feels for her grows.

As the bond between those two heats up the "war" that has been far away starts to hit home. Literally. As Ash has Mena with him at his own cabin, away from everyone they're attacked. It's them we get a better look at Mena's gifts. She fries the cocksuckers after them, saves Ash by getting him back to the mansion and it's then everyone finds out, they're now mates. Life tied to life, they're as one.

Then, when the inevitable happens and the traitors are called out, the real fight begins. Again it's Mena who makes a show of what she can do to someone when they eff with her family. Sparks in the dark make a light show no one looking on will forget.

But it's never that easy.... there is always something knocking at your door to make the heart beat faster and you to gear up for a new battle...

When I read Scattered Ashes (Book 1), my love for Paranormal Romance (PNR) was at an all time high. If I am honest I did read a few more PNR books after finishing this, whilst patiently waiting for Falling Ashes. Now Falling Ashes is here and I am once again immersed into the world of the supernatural, reacquainting myself with my favourite “other-world” characters.

With focus on new characters, the backdrop of this story is a continuation from Scattered Ashes, it is a solid story line and full of well executed action. As Wraith’s, Aegis’, Phoenix’s and Guardians merge together to banish evil from their “world”. Readers get to witness a gorgeous and passionate relationship develop despite all the blood, brutality and fear surrounding them.

Mena Constantine has been rescued after years of imprisonment. Reuniting with her sister she is thrust into a house full of people she doesn’t know and a life she isn’t sure how to adapt to. Knowing she is also on the quest to hunt down those responsible for her captivity her importance in the fight against evil is cemented and imperative. But what catches her more off guard is Asher Crane.

A Wraith with a deadline, Asher isn’t expecting his connection with Mena to be all consuming. From the minute he lays eyes on her he knows she is his mate. It’s real and he couldn’t stop the onslaught of emotions, even if he tried. In a gorgeous collection of swoon worthy moments, the connection between Asher and Mena is honest and real. Falling in love amidst all the chaos – these two souls find their homes. Determined to love and protect one another, readers witness the true actions and the depth of their love.

Highlighting themes of friendship, loyalty, family and love Annie Anderson successfully balances the paranormal and the romance. Providing details that are essential to understanding this world that she has created, Anderson ensures that readers are interested and invested. The revival of characters from Scattered Ashes and introduction of characters that are sure to be in book three heightens the excitement, the plot and the pacing of Falling Ashes. Her beautifully woven love story, completing this thrilling story.

after being kidnapped (again) & tortured (again) Aurelia Constantine is making her escape from Iva , the primary of the phoenix , when she comes across another prisoner in a room , not being able to rescue her straight away Aurelia comes back with an mini army of wraiths & Rhys , now her husband to make sure Iva is dead & stays that way . imagine her shock when she finds out the other prisoner is her twin sister Mena who has been Iva's prisoner for over 50 years . Mena is different type of phoenix to Aurelia , she is an Aegis & answerable to no-one , electricity covers her body & acts as shield but can be directed towards enemies as well , only Mena's control is not what it should be thanks to Iva's abuse of her .
the king of the wraiths guardian , Asher , instantly feels a pull to Mena & she instinctively trusts him whereas others that try to touch her she'd instantly fry whether she meant to or not .
the queen of the wraiths is slowly being poisoned & if she dies her husband dies with her as well as their guardians .
This is a great story that shows Aurelia & Mena reconnecting as well as Asher & Mena's love developing amidst the uncertainty that hangs around both the wraiths & the phoenixes .plenty of action & great cliffhanger at the end , bring on book 3 .

Another really good book by Annie Anderson! I have been waiting to see what happens next. Thankfully I do and Sparks fly literally in this paranormal/fantasy world! This story is about Mena Constantine “the last living full-blooded Aegis and rightful leader of the Phoenixes.” & Asher Crane, he is the King’s Guardian. The King is dying and as the guardian of the king he will die too. I will let you read the synopsis because the author does a much better job than I will.
I had to bookmark the Glossary again. There are so many terms & different characters i.e. Wraiths, Oracles, Seers & Aegis oh my! I needed to go back through it to refresh my memory.

I loved the warning! And here it is for everyone:
“This book is intended for readers aged 18 and older. Within these pages are situations containing effluent cursing, torture, rape, blood, guts, gore, sex, love, despair, war, corruption and death.

If you are unable to handle these situations, I would advise putting this book down immediately. Because shit’s about to get real!”

Of course this book ended on a Cliffie! But, we know who the next book is going to be about! Kyle & Nicola’s.

I was given a complimentary copy of Falling Ashes for an honest review and I give this book 5 STARS and bring on Kyle and Nicola!

This story…what can I say…it grabbed me like no other, and from the last page of Scattered Ashes (Book 1), I was left with extreme anxiety, wanting to know what happens next. We finally meet Aurelia’s sister, Mena, who’s been trapped in her own personal hell for years, by the evil wench Iva.

Mena’s mind, body and soul have literally been shattered to the point of numbness. She’s carried a heavy burden through all the torture she’s received, yet her spirit continues to fight the good fight. Finally free, Mena is struggling with reality, and being around people again.

In all the chaos, she literally finds an electric connection with Asher, Guardian to the King. Being a wraith, he claims her love, and there’s no turning back from that, so together they try to deal with their past and present heartaches. Asher is my current god, he’s everything a woman would want in a man and so much more. I’m smitten beyond belief!

A hell storm is coming for them all, and Mena and Aurelia are in the center of it. These sisters are beyond amazing, strong willed, and absolutely snarky, and I love them to the point of girl crush status! No shame!

Passionate, engaging, a story that gripped me from page one. Annie Anderson takes you deeper into the world that we meet in Scattered Ashes. We meet Mena at the end of Scattered Ashes she is the sister of Aurelia and she is just as powerful as she is.
This story will suck you in and grab hold of you and will never let you go. Ash and Mena as a couple is so hot and passionate. The insta attraction between them while dealing with everything going on around them. The plot, the twist and turns, the secrets, mystery, the deceit, and ongoing drama everything in this book was so good. Ash and Mena are just part of this awesome story, the supporting secondary characters add on an extra layer of perfection that makes the surrounding drama more of an experience.
All I can say is that this book is worth reading so you can experience the world of wraiths, phoenixes, and couples that give a new meaning to power couples. The only thing bad I can say is that I don’t have book three and I don’t know how long I can wait. If I could recommend any series to someone looking for something new this would be the books to read .

Wow! I absolutely love this Series and I can't wait to read more, so Annie Anderson write faster. Book two in the series picks up right where book one left off. In this book we get to know more about Mena Constantine, who we learned is Aurelia sister and she has powers of her own. She has been released from a 50 year captivity and she is struggling with the memories of her capture. She has secrets that even her sister would be shocked to hear. She meets Asher Crane who is bound to the dying king of the Wraiths. This means Asher too must die but when he meets Mena he knows she is his mate. With a war pounding on their doors will Mena and Asher find their way or will the powers that be destroy not only their bond but their lives? Very Good Series!!! I love reading Annie Anderson's books. She describes the events and locations so well that you feel as though you are there with the characters. The characters and story is very strong and intriguing. Exciting story that leaves you at the edge of your seat. Mena and Asher are sexy, hot and sizzling.

I read the first book in the Ashes to Ashes series when it came out and I remembered that I found it hard to keep track of who was who and what was what, so I was glad I decided to reread Scattered Ashes before starting Falling Ashes. Otherwise, I would have been lost.
But after saying all that, I’m enjoyed rereading Scattered Ashes and I especially enjoyed reading Falling Ashes because I got to read what happened next in this terrific series.
My favourite genre is paranormal and I love escaping to other ‘worlds’. But this book isn’t just about different worlds (although this world is within the human world); it’s about different characters. And just like the real world, some are good and some are bad. There are some you will love and some you will hate.
But this world and these characters are held together by a well-written story which kept me interested until the end of this book. However, it’s not the end of the series and I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the Ashes to Ashes series.
Just one word of advice, make sure you read that glossary at the beginning.
I gave Falling Ashes 5 stars.

I was very excited to read this book by Annie Anderson. I couldn't wait to read more about Mena and see her side of the story. Let me tell you, this book blew me away. Not only did Annie bring a fabulous book, but she also has made me fall in love with her work.
Mena has been held captive for a very long time. And honestly, I was worried she wouldn't be able to recover and find her place in the crazy world she's in. But, not only was I proud of Mena's character, I was rooting for her the entire time. Mena became more than I'd hoped and how much she grew throughout the book. She might seem small and delicate, but she's so much more than that.
I really loved Asher too. His character was exactly how I wanted him to be, kind and gentle, but yet he's an alpha. Not over the top, it's just enough for Mena. And when these two are together...it's amazing really.
I really enjoyed this book and I couldn't seem to stop once I started. There's a lot going on, so make sure to read book one, but overall, it's a great read. I know I cannot wait for the next book and I'm so curious to find out what will happen!

This is the second book in the series of Ashes to Ashes by Annie Anderson. Scattered Ashes is the first book and it needs to be read first to fully understand what is going on in Falling Ashes.

I've been reviewing books for over 3 years and I've only read two author's paranormal books so far. This genre is something I'm not interested in per se but with Annie Anderson writing it she knows how to bring out the characters to you. You can picture these mythical creatures in your head like a wraith and a phoenix.

You can feel what Mena and Asher are going through in the story. Mena is dealing with what happened while she was held captive for over fifty years. Then Asher is dealing with his choice between his sworn duty and his love of his life, Mena. It doesn’t matter that he barely knows Mena. He fills this pull with her when he isn't with her. She is mate and she will always come first.

I have truly enjoyed this story and it was nice to be reacquainted with all the old characters from the previous book. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

I really enjoyed the first in this series and when I realised that the second book would follow Mena, I wasn't sure whether I was disappointed or not. Having read the book, the answer is most definitely not. Although I wanted to read more about Rhys and Aurelia, the relationship between Asher and Mena was a wonderful story in its own right.

I thought that this was more accomplished than book 1. Ms Anderson could have gone in a completely different direction with Mena. She could have been depicted as weak, but instead, although a bit broken (understandably), she was portrayed as a kick ass fighter and strong enough to stand with Asher.

There was genuine emotion in this story. Character depth and complexity and action. There is also now a real feeling that something bad is coming, and the bonds around the core characters are tangibly strengthening in preparation.

This was a hugely enjoyable story. I look forward to the continuation of the saga.

I am so very glad that I one clicked this when the preorder came up though because this is definitely one of my top series. I didn't think I could love anyone as much as Ari but Annie came out swinging and brought us Mena, her kick ass strong twin sister.

Mena is an aegis who was taken from her sister Auerlia 50 years before and locked up and tortured by Iva who wanted her power. Now she is free and out to show the world just who she is.

The thing that I love most about not just Fallen Ashes but Scattered Ashes as well is that Annie has given me the heroine that I so badly craved. Ari and Mena are the take no bullshit, kick ass types who don't need a man to save them. They are busy saving themselves. They just so happen to have hot husbands who have their backs.

Love love loved! Xxx

This is the second book in the series and should be read in order.
Mena is an Aegis, that is a special type of Phoenix with incredible powers. She was kidnapped fifty years ago and has been tortured all through her captivity. She has no faith in her ability to control herself. When her twin sister discovers her she is chained in a cell.
Asher is a wraith, and bodyguard to the king of wraiths. The wraith queen is dying, and her death will cause those linked to her to also die.
This is an exciting paranormal romance, full of danger and emotion. Both our hero and heroine have always put the lives of others above their own. Now they face a difficult time trying to protect the family, with enemies circling like vultures waiting for death.
A fast paced all action read.

~~I received this in exchange for my honest opinion~~

Just like the first book, this book is amazing. Falling Ashes continues right after Scattered Ashes. We see Mena in this book. We also get a sense of what she went through while in "Captivity". We also get more background on what is going on. I know that this is a short review, and it really doesn't tell you anything at all, but if I wrote what I really wanted to write, I will be giving away a ton of the book, and that wouldn't be fair to you.

Annie can definitely write a great book. Her imagination is amazing. Once you start her books, you can't put them down. She know how to keep your attention.

I couldn't wait to read this book and was sad when it ended. The good news is, more is coming. Mena has been held captive for 50 years and had unspeakable things happen to her. Yet, she survived, she's a fighter, like her sister Aurelia who we met in Scattered Ashes, (Ashes to Ashes, book 1). When she meets her soul mate, Asher things become even hotter. As they fight to survive can their love last? I'm anxiously awaiting book 3 in this series. Annie Anderson has made me a lover of paranormal, a genre I rarely read.

This series just keeps getting better!

I've read books one and two in one day! Falling Ashes picks up where book one left off. It's an amazing series of heart thumping, twists, turns, thrills, and heart wrenching sadness. This book has it all! The characters are so well developed, you feel as you're living through them. It's such a thrilling read. This is yet another new favorite series. I can't wait to read Book Three! Again, this is an absolute must-read series! 5+ stars! It'll leave you awestruck!

4.5 stars. I like how each book is a different characters story. This is Mena and Ashers story. You meet Mena at the end of the last book. The only thing that bothered me was how fast she bounced back after being captive for that long. But hey they are paranormal and this is fiction. I liked Menas fiery attitude (haha get it). Asher was such a sweetheart and boy when his eyes collided with Mena it was game over. Can't wait to start the next story.
