I won't spend a lot of time comparing the Z7 to many of the camera's I have owned or still own. However, I'll name a few so that you understand I am used to shooting with high-end equipment: Hasselblad X1D, Fujifilm GFX-50S, Sony A7rii, Fujifilm X-pro 2.
Since I have only had the camera for a week, I'll mention a few things and swing back later to add more. First and foremost, I require image quality. The Z7 doesn't disappoint. It is very sharp from edge-to-edge with no edge smearing and limited vignetting (vignetting at 24mm F/4 on the Z 24-70mm S lens) and impressive dynamic range. The image stabilization seems to work well; however, I haven't run it through a battery of test. The tracking isn't that great as many of the reviews pointed out, but I really don't use that feature much. The AF is quick and very accurate. It does hunt a bit in low-light but I find it to be more than acceptable. I imagine this will get better with firmware.
The camera overall is very fast, and I love the handling. I also love the gazillion of customizable features. For example, the focus ring can be customized to change the aperture on Z mount lenses - love that. It feels great in the hand, and unlike the Sony A7 series, it doesn't suck with your eye in the viewfinder. Don't get me wrong, I love the Sony A7 series, but I hate the fact that my nose is basically crushed against the screen to get my eye fully into the viewfinder. This is very uncomfortable, especially during long shoots. The Z7 viewfinder/eyepiece extends far enough out to where you don't have this issue.
More later after I acquire the 35mm F/1.8.

I have gripes about the xqd memory card and the lack of an extra slot in the camera. I bought two 256g xqd card to compensate for it. My other gripe is the battery capacity that will allow about 250+ shots. A big dissappointment considering the D850 can take thousand before the battery is drained.
Don’t like the price buf can’t blame Nikon for jacking up the price for their first mirrorless full frame camera. I’m sure it will go down after all the demand slows down.
I’m giving it 5 stars because of the many things I really like, inspite of some of it’s shortcomings.
The COLORS are so much better !! Auto-focus works perfectly with the lenses I have.
24-70 f4 S, 50mm f1.8, 35mm f1.8. Snapbrige mobile app works seamlessly. The camera overall is very well made. This is very well suited for the long-exposure night time photographs. The RAW files you get out of this camera is so sharp and chessy !! The battery power is good for ~700 stills. I was quite critical when I bought this camera but as I get out there and shoot. This camera changes me with every shot I took. I will not let it go. It is truly a wonderful camera. Please go to a camera store and check the camera yourself and try to look at those files in a bigger monitor!! The Z-mount is so wide. I am convinced you will LOVE THIS CAMERA-Z7 !!
