Using this is a Dell Optiplex 7020MT with an adapter from DIYMOD.com

I like the Dell Optiplex line of business computers. They last forever, provide good performance, and run much more stable than just about anything else out there. However, I also occasionally like to game. On the Optiplex 7020MT, Dell uses a proprietary 8 pin plug, and they draw all of the power into the motherboard and they use a special cable to power the peripherals (DVD drive, hard drives, etc.) off of the motherboard power. Also, they only use the 12v rail and they don't pull any 3v or 5v from the power supply, but instead generate that on the board. This means that replacing a Dell power supply with anything less than a 750 Watt 80+ Gold Certified power supply will likely cause issues as the 12v rail cannot provide enough current for the Dell engineered design.

So I needed a power supply that could power my computer reliably, power by heavy power draw gaming graphics card, and not clutter the inside with a bunch of unused cables. With this setup I can not only power my graphics card, but also the peripherals off the power supply directly. This also reduces the work the power circuits on the motherboard, and that can only improve lifespan and stability. If you are looking to do the same, and you specifically have a Optiplex 7020MT, this is the power supply you are looking for. This will not work if it is not the Mid Tower model.

If you are just curious why the fuss. I already mentioned the other positive attributes of the Optiplex line. I should also mention that I got a professionally refurbished Optiplex 7020MT for $200 with a Quad Core i7 CPU and 16GB of RAM (no operating system). So the price of your display adapter, an SSD, this power supply, and about $200 makes for a very, very stable daily driver computer that will have no problems playing the occasional AAA game.

Great product but the first one i ordered was broken it literally was used and returned too because it was broken the package of cords inside was ripped open so they just re shrink wrapped the box and re sold it to me as brand new which it clearly wasnt or else the cords inside wouldent have been ripped open and the plastic bag around the power supply was missing the second one i ordered works great and the wires were still sealed inside the box unlike the other one that was broken with a ripped open package of cords inside pretty easy to hook up so if you do it right and think you did it right but its not working try putting your old power supply back in and if the old one still works and the new on doesnt you got a faulty one just return it as dead upon arrival dont think it was you doing something wrong and just keep the broken unit

Recently purchased a Dell Precision workstation 3620. I swamped out the 290 watt power supply with this power supply as I wanted to add more onboard devices. The power supply fit perfectly in the case with no alterations to the case. This PS is VERY quiet!
The problem I ran into was the 24 pin ATX power supply cable on the power supply and the 8-Pin Power feed on the Dell motherboard. The problem was solved by purchasing an Eyeboot 24 Pin to 8-Pin Power Supply ATX PSU Adapter Cable. System is working fine with no issues.

Super powerful and yet always efficient. The unit has a large fan that is quiet when it runs, but most of the time, the fan doesn't run at all, just when it needs to. It was super easy to install. The motherboard cables are not modular but the cables for video card and sata/peripherals are all modular. I bought this supply to replace an OEM 300W unit so that the computer could support a new MSI RTX2060 Super video card. This Corsair TX750 can handle it easily. I got this one on sale so for the same price as a TX550 ot TX650, I got the TX750 because it came with more cables. I thought I might as well get extra cables and the higher capacity for the same price while I had the chance. I could not be happier.

Price on this one could be a bit better 160+ tax is pretty steep...other than that it would be 5 stars.
