Publisher's summary

As Calamity’s newest resident, Everly Christian thought life in small-town Montana would be dull and tame - and she needs a little mundane after the last few chaotic years. But one night, boredom drives her to the local bar, where she finds herself sitting beside a handsome and mysterious artist.

The man is anything but dull and tame, especially in the bedroom, and when she steps out of his shower and overhears his conversation, life gets interesting again.

Reese Huxley needs a wife.

And why shouldn’t Everly be the bride?

She’s got her reasons for agreeing to the hasty nuptials - reasons she’s keeping to herself. As long as she can stop herself from falling in love with her husband, she’ll make it out of this sham marriage in one piece. But Everly has a weakness for wayward men, and the more Hux pushes her away, the more she realizes this bluff is anything but a lie.

Love Love Love!!!

Let me start by saying Vanessa Edwin and Aiden Snow are perfect for this book. Their narration was amazing. The range in their voices is spectacular. I love when you can tell the characters by the change in the narrators voice. Also Aiden Snow has the sexiest deep voice ever!!

This book deserves more than 5 stars. I started this book around 11 p.m. and ended up going to work with an hour and a half of sleep as I could not put it down. This book is one of those books that make you want to read it again immediately.

This book is the second book in the series and centers around Everly and Reese "Hux" Huxley. If you read the first book then you know that Everly is the best friend of Lucy. Everly and Lucy had been stalked and Everly is still dealing with the ramifications of that situation. Hux is the ex con that does not engage with those in his town and his only focus is his daughter.

Everly and Hux start off with only wanting one night, but their chemistry is so strong that they decide to continue on in a benefits only arrangement. Hux wants custody of his teenage daughter, and having a wife will help his situation. Soon they are married and working together to get Hux what he desires most.

Everly is in need of someone to love and protect her and she feels safe when she is with Hux. She does everything that she can to make life easier for him, but he has moments where he makes it clear that he is not out to do the same for her. However, there are moments when Hux is so sweet, and the raw emotion shines through. Also the sexy times are HOT!! They do not take over the book, but let me tell you I fanned myself a time or three.

As always the side characters are written as needed and add to the story. With these books, Willa writes the scenery in Montana so perfectly that it also feels as it is one of the main characters. I may have spent half of my morning looking for job openings in Montana.....

FAKE BECOMES FOREVER IN THIS 5 STAR💘 STORY

Whether you’re writing as Willa Nash or Devney Perry, I love love love your romances.. and this ‘fake’ marriage, where ‘never gonna happen’ become sweet possibilities, was another very addictive and entertaining love story. Reese is a devoted Dad who’d been robbed of his role for sixteen long years but who is now trying to do the best for his beloved daughter. He’s a son and brother who has been let down by his estranged family who alienated him. And he’s a determined ex husband who’ll do whatever it takes to win custody away from his nasty, lying, bitch of an ex who ruined his reputation and got him locked up.

Everly is a woman who has her own demons to battle too but she’s trying to make amends and move forward. Both are only semi-rooted in Calamity waiting for their time to leave. A sizzling attraction, a one night stand that gets repeated and a fake marriage bargain with an end-date and no strings.. simple yes?.. nope, because emotions and love gets in their way. Reese’s walls were built high and guarded 24/7 in this fake marriage.. and Evelyn is determined to take it down brick by brick.. but, when denial outweighs trust, what will it take to see the truth.. to see the lie.. to see the love?

A heartwarming journey of having to go through a few roadblocks and pitfalls before the fake promises become passion-filled declarations of love and forevers. And I loved every single delicious minute of the first sizzles, the butting of heads, the smouldering sex, the dawning realizations and the soft-landing when they are both finally on the same sweet page of happy ever afters. Great dual POV narration by Aiden and Vanessa which fit and made the cast, the feels and the chapters come to life - making this book a five star very enjoyable listen.

WORTH A CREDIT? Yes definitely.. you write it Willa/Devney and I’ll listen to it 💕.

so good!

The Bluff is book two in the Calamity Series by Willa Nash. I have been waiting for this book for what seems like FOREVER! and I have to say this book was worth the wait.

Reese Huxley has been trying to have some sort of custody agreement for his daughter Savannah for ever. But with a bitter evil ex-wife and her terrible lawyer new husband he cant even get a random visit with out the police showing up and dragging her out the door, breaking both of their hearts in the process.

Everly Christian had moved to Calamity to be close to her life long best friend and favorite person, after what had happened in the last book (not going to spoil that for anyone who has not read it) she is more of a homebody and guarded.

What started as a one night stand quickly turned into a fling and Everly overhears an idea about a wife helping him get some sort of custody of his daughter and Hux will do anything for his girl and Everly is lost and looking for a purpose and this could be the perfect opportunity for them both.

Everly was such a great heroine, going all out for the people in her life that she cares about and willing to take a stand when others cannot defend themselves. She's so strong and supportive and selfless. Reese has a bit of a hard time trusting anyone, and is more guarded especially because Everly is trying to make him more of a person people are not afraid of and a member of the community but she also could break his heart and take everything he had worked so hard for away from him.

I really did enjoy this book. It was great seeing the relationships between Huxley, Everly, and Savannah progress and seeing Savannah open up. I really do hope her and Travis end up together years down the line, maybe even with their own book. The only thing I wished would have happened is having a time where Hux had stood up for Everly and not just take peoples words and go with what they were saying but wouldn't believe what Everly's concerns were with people. Even after the big fight at the end there was just no closure on that issue, never a chance to prove himself.

This is a stand alone book but I would recommend reading the first book in the series first.

One of my favorites from Devney Perry

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this audiobook. As someone who has always been drawn to the marriage of convenience trope, this story really hit the mark for me.

Everly Christian, a newcomer to the town of Calamity, Montana, finds herself hoping for something more exciting in her life. Enter Reese Huxley, a mysterious and intriguing artist who becomes involved with Everly. Things get interesting when Huxley finds himself in need of a wife, and Everly seems like the perfect candidate, as long as they can keep their emotions in check.

The storyline was entertaining, offering just the right blend of spice, intrigue, and romance. The chemistry between Everly and Huxley was electrifying, making their journey all the more fun. Additionally, the characters were expertly developed, adding depth and complexity to the narrative.

Overall, this story is perfect for those who enjoy small-town romance and marriage of convenience. The narration, flawlessly performed by Vanessa Edwin and Aiden Snow, was nothing short of exceptional. Their voices intertwined seamlessly, resulting in an audiobook that is simply a must-listen.

AMAZING!!

The push and pull between Everly and Hux was so powerful. From moment one you could tell that they were meant to be together. They both fought against love and being together but they both knew that they couldn’t live without the other and I’m so glad that they made it work. This book was phenomenal and I’m loving this small town!

The audio was incredible, both voice actors did phenomenal!!
