Crash-Landed in Love

Rate this book
He comes in peace… amongst other things

When college kid Jude Adler wishes for a new life on a shooting star, he never imagined it would come in the form of a shapeshifting alien who nearly crash-lands his spaceship on top of him, let alone one who chooses to disguise himself as a man inspired by Jude’s wildest fantasies.

Al’s ship is damaged and unable to make the flight home, and when he earnestly asks Jude for a safe place to stay until help arrives, how can Jude say no?

Keeping his hands to himself until then shouldn’t be difficult… but Jude is only human, and there’s only so long anyone can resist a roommate disguised as the hottest person imaginable.

A roommate whose insatiable curiosity is piqued by Jude’s human body…

And who shares Jude's only bed.

Crash-Landed in Love is a hilarious paranormal romance set on modern-day Earth with an HEA and no cliffhangers. It contains a clueless alien who is quite good at pretending to be a human, a love that’s written in the stars, shapeshifting body parts, and enough steam you’ll start to worry that your spaceship is on fire.

Please note that while there are no ABO dynamics in this series… life finds a way.

Piper Scott debuted as a trio of authors looking to write together for fun. Their collaboration led to three novella-length books (Love Me, Save Me, and Keep Me,) before life sent them in different directions, leaving just one author with an omegaverse plot bunny that wouldn’t leave her alone. Left to her own devices, Piper Scott writes scorching but heartfelt contemporary omegaverse romance about men you can’t help but fall in love with.

Completely unexpected but I absolutely loved this!!

I've only read one MPreg book before and I didn't like it at all, so I was a little sceptical, but this was so good!

I laughed so much and Al's heartbreak made me cry. Jude was annoying, yet felt realistic too. Buttons was clearly amazing and I loved Ezra, he was a solid side character and so supportive. Corbin just irritated me though, he felt very shallow and I couldn't really see why they were friends.

Looking forward to the next book.

For someone who came from a more developed planet AI seems to be oblivious of anything hell I woulda assume he comes from the past.
The conflict dragged on for too long that it ruined the book for me, especially the art class scene that was so unnecessary i had a visceral reaction when that happened and Corbin was such an asshole for that, he know nothing of the relationship to butt in like that.
I did cry at the hatching scene I think it was very cute, and their interaction between jude and AL overall but sometimes I couldn't help but find jude annoying he's thick in the head.

Oh how I've missed reading Piper Scott. She's just so good at mpreg stories - and since good mpreg stories are so rare, it just makes Piper Scott stories all the better.

I adored Al and Jude together.

Jude is a college student, living with a roommate in a small, run down house with barely enough to get by, and has just recently broken up with his boyfriend who cheated on him.

He's down on his luck, and when that happens, he likes to go out in the desert (he lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico) and look at the stars. When he wishes for his life to change, he doesn't quite expect for it to change in the form of a literal alien crash landing not far from where he is and changing his life forever, for the better.

Al isn't his real name, but his real name is quite unpronounceable for poor Jude - or all humans, really - so Al is what Jude comes up with (short for Alien, get it 😉)

There's an instant connection - although quite literally for Al, who knows that he and Jude are True Mates the second they touch.

It's not quite like that for Jude, the human, but he does feel a connection nonetheless. He just doesn't know it's as monumental as True Mates.

When Al disguises himself as a human so no one else will know he's an alien - and take him to be experimented on by the government - he takes the form of a very beautiful man, and that night he and Jude have sex.

For Al, his species has telepathy powers, although Al's are considered "weak" among his kind. He only is able to be in Jude's head for a very little bit to be able to start to learn English, and really only has touch telepathy where he can sense emotions from the other person.

Because they have some miscommunication, quite literally, as Al is just learning English and he takes things Jude says in the heat of the moment as literal, so he thinks he knows that Jude knows his body is literally changing to accommodate being pregnant, and that he's accepting them being True Mates.

So while he and Jude get to know each other over the next two months, Jude is pregnant - with eggs - and doesn't even know it. But things he says here and there makes Al thinks he knows.

Al is the absolute sweetest, I loved him. He's just so kind and earnest and trying his best. The little ways he adapts to English are so cute, and how he deals with human things on Earth sometimes are so funny - like his fear of a toaster lol - as well as him actually learning to speak "cat" lol.

There is some drama near the middle-ish of this, when Jude finds out he's pregnant, and boy did it hurt! Poor Al was absolutely heartbroken and him crying made me want to cry. He's just a poor baby!

And yes, I understood Jude's side and his motivations - which is why I'm not taking any stars off for him being a jerk to poor bb Al, mmkay?! - but it didn't make it hurt any less, or make me want to hit him upside the head any less. Because a heartbroken Al is just not good. I just wanted to reach in and snuggle him.

Al the kind of....well, being that should almost always be happy. He's just too sweet and kind not to be.

But eventually, about a month later, Jude comes around. It takes him some time, but he does. Right around the time he goes into labor and has the...uh, eggs.

So he's only pregnant for 3 months, then has the eggs, and then they wait a further amount of 2 or so months for the eggs to hatch.

Once he has the eggs, Jude is very protective of them and even nests with them, a natural instinct to him now.

Also, there are 7 of them, so...it's a good thing at the end when Al is able to get his own...i guess, stipend? As being one of the children of high government officials on his planet, because otherwise they would not be able to raise their 7 (!) children easily at all.

But it was so sweet how Jude loved all of them so much and thought to himself that he'd work as many dead end jobs as he'd need to provide for their children. But thankfully, he doesn't need to.

This whole book was just delightful. I loved Al and Jude and their chemistry just worked so well together. The sex was good too - both in Al's human form and natural form.

I absolutely cannot wait for the next book about Al's brother. I wonderful if he's LI will be Ezra or Corbin, Jude's roommate and friends. Because it's gotta be one of them. Then there's Al's family's servant who comes to Earth to help out with their children, and I wonder if he will get a book too.

I'm excited to see! Can't wait for more! 🥰

I was really enjoying it. I thought all the characters were soooooo funny. But this book was just too long for me. The page count isn’t super long, but the book was moving too slow so it seemed so much longer. I had to stop reading to read something else, and I haven’t felt the urge to pick the book back up. I may someday!!! But not today.

Original review
I loved this so much I don't really have anything to say.
If you loved Piper Scott and Virginia Kelly's Forbidden Desires series and love
- an adorable Alien (named Al, definitely not short for Alien)
- a human cis man turning pregnant without understanding and the Alien believes he's understanding
- an Alien who loves getting annoyed by human time telling and other random measurements
- Caretaking
- Just utter adorableness
- fated mates over galaxies
- a rollercoaster of feels
then this has to be next on your TBR :D
and aah I can't wait for book 2 and to re-read this!

Not even sharing quotes because I highlighted too much.

NSFW infos:
- alien MC who gets stranded on earth
- human MC, gay and out
- Alien can impregnate his fated mate
- breeding
- mpreg
- strict top/bottom dynamic
- sex in alien form and human disguise

4.5 stars. Silly, funny, super fun mpreg story of an alien crash landing on Earth with antics galore. The speech pattern of an alien learning English was grating at first, but it very quickly settled into a super entertaining and charming part of the character. The Earth bashing humor is top notch, I huff-laughed and chuff-laughed through the whole book. The book doesn’t take itself seriously and is an absolute gem, low angst, low drama.

Really enjoyable if you like OTT situations and clever word play. Some of the lower-star reviews are for the mpreg aspect of the story, which is actually quite common in m/m sci-fi, so I’m not sure why so many people seemed surprised by it. Also, I saw lots of folks calling this an omegaverse book, but it’s not omega-verse since there is no alpha/omega dynamic, it’s just mpreg. I guess people are getting all of that confused. Anyway, great book, well written, fun!

Mpreg, fated mates, alien, earthling, sci-fi, Earth, sanitizer on hot dogs, HEA.

Not my favourite.

The book was way too long and included all the very unnecessary monologues and explanations where it could just focus on the main love couple. I started fast-reading or even skipping some paragraphs about 50% in and I just don't find the story being well developed.

🟡 Alien/human
🔵 Crash landing on Earth
🟢 Alien takes on a human form
🟣 Mpreg
🔵 True Mates (fated)
🟢 Good side characters
🌶️ A lot of sex, it's good, probably about the only really good thing in this book; sex in human and alien form; t/b

I think this story needs a more thorough developing in the next installment. There were so many things added that took attention away from Al and Jude, the main couple who meet when Al, the alien from the planet Darvrok 6, crashes his old spaceship in the desert near Albuquerque, USA.

Al takes on a human form and goes to live with Jude, a college student who's hiding him from supposed Men in Black who never show up. Nothing more is said about his crashed ship either.

They get down to it pretty quick, they have sex right away and just live together in Jude's apartment. The sex was great, though. Really good. Loved it. They had good chemistry, good dirty talk and Al was pretty good at everything so that was what made me read the whole book.

“Fuck, I think I’m gonna come,” Jude panted. “You’re not even touching my cock and I’m gonna come, you’re a goddamn magician. Keep going. Keep going and don’t you dare pull out. Come inside me. Put it deep. I have never wanted to be creampied more in my goddamn life, and I am not going to let anything stop me.”

So yeah, the only thing that kept me going until the end. 😄

I had a bit of a problem with the storytelling, because a thing or two happened yet a month went by apparently, the timelines weren't pointed out specifically, I figured out later on how much time had actually passed, so everything took too long - contacting Al's planet and getting some development finally. It took Al more than 2 months to put together a device to call his family, which is weird, at best.

In the mean time I have no idea how they afforded rent and food, the basically didn't work.

I thought they had good chemistry and were going to stick together but then Jude opted out of the relationship, then later on changed his mind and suddenly loved Al. I don't know, I didn't feel it. Even when pregnant, Jude wanted to leave everything behind, so as much as I get that, it wasn't a good thing to add to this story.

The first contact with Al's parents was supposed to be hilarious but again, it should've been a bigger deal coming to Earth and finding your son having kids with someone from another species. I thought something major was about to happen, but nothing really did. Jude and Al stayed in the USA and got a servant and a mansion which I'm down for, but for an almost 400 page story this book should've been much more interesting than it was.

The side characters were very promising and I'd love to get their stories. Ezra, Jude's roommate, then Corbin, Ezra's ex, then Logan, Jude's brother and Titan, Al's brother, not to forget Kyle, the big muscled servant.

The next installment is Titan's, so I'm really wondering who's going to be his match. My bet is on Corbin. I kinda see Ezra for Kyle, but that probably won't happen. Ezra is supposed to become a diplomat, so he'll probably be paired up with Titan.

This series is dealing with True Mates that are very rare for Darvrokians, so hopefully the next book isn't as long and ends the numerous explanations and jokes that we're getting really old here and gives us a more clear-cut story of two guys falling in love.

This book was absolutely hilarious! Al crash lands on Earth and happens to meet Jude in the middle of nowhere. He gets a crash course in all things human while he makes a device to phone home intergalactically. Against all odds, Jude is his True Mate, chaos ensues (with a happy ending).

I loved how Al had a comment or diatribe on EVERYTHING and he’s literally only saying what we are all thinking! Yes, the English language is stupid. Correct, the way we tell time is dumb (and his panic spiral over daylight savings omg lol). Don’t even get me started on the metric system, I’m totally with ya there Al! He was unintentionally hilarious and perfect and I loved him. This also has a great cast of side characters, especially Buttons!

The miscommunication trope is not my favorite, but it is what it is. We see Al grow into his own a bit here and I actually really loved that (I was on Al’s side 🤷🏼‍♀️).

I am very excited to see where this series goes, looks like Al’s brother is coming in hot and I would love if Corbin is the one to give him a run for his money!

I received an advanced copy from GRR in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you to GRR for providing an earc in exchange for a review.

This book was so freaking fun. We follow Jude who is a young art student, which isn't having a great time at life right now, and Al, the charming alien that literally almost crashed right on top of him. An intergalactic meet-cute.

The plot is meh. I have less than favorable opinions about the miscommunication trope. While this isn't the worst I have read, I wasn't a big fan.

However, the real MVP's of this book anyway are the characters. Al was the most adorable dorky alien I have ever read. His running commentary on everything human was not only kinda relatable but hilariously accurate. Jude is going through some shit and is a totally relatable character. I loved all the side characters as well and can't wait to read more.

Overall a very successful first installment of what will be a very fun series.

Jade rescues a stranded alien, Al who shape shifts into his ideal man. He takes him home to try to hide him and figure out how to get him home. Jude is trying to get over a cheating ex and Al is so sexy, sweet and hilarious in his speech patterns, down right proud of them as a matter of fact. I loved the alien angle with Men in Black references and government conspiracies. A fun book to enjoy over the holidays. I received a copy of this book through Gay Romance Reviews and this is my honest opinion.

4.5 stars. I love me a well-done alien MM romance and that's exactly what this was. Al was so damn lovable, so earnest and caring and selfless. Jude's confusion and eventual capitulation--and nesting instincts!--were adorable. The boys were off-the-charts hot between the sheets and the emotional punch of it all had me melting. I can't wait for the next one.

This book was freaking amazing! I haven't enjoyed reading a book this much in a long time and I have never read a funnier book! I loved Al and his hatred for all things with the English language and telling time and how he counted everything in "mississippis" lol

The story was so beautiful and I just love love loved watching Jude & Al fall in love, Jude coming to terms with his "body changes," and their future together.

I can't wait for the rest of this series!!!

Crash-Landed in Love by Piper Scott and Renee Fox is the first book in their He’s Out of This World series. Jude Adler is a struggling college student in Albuquerque, New Mexico, who has gone through a break up and is out in the desert in his beat up old car watching the stars and wishing for a better future. Then he sees a shooting star that turns out to be a spaceship that crash lands right in front of him. When he sees the alien that comes out and appears to be just as frustrated as he gets when something goes wrong, he sneaks closer to see what will happen. The alien then sees Jude and starts to talk to him after trying telepathy and learning a bit of English. He asks for help and Jude decides to do just that by getting him in his car and taking him back to his house on campus. As they travel Jude gives him the name of Al since his Darvrokian name can’t be pronounced in English and Al is able to use more of our language as time goes by, often with hilarious consequences due to the many meanings some words have. Jude also finds out that Al can shapeshift so his alien form can be disguised and he turns into Jude’s fantasy man right in front of him. As time goes on they realize they have a lot in common such as Al’s ship is as beat up as Jude’s car, neither of their sets of parents are proud of them and let them know how disgusted with them they are with every conversation, and their love lives have not been good so they are both lonely. But they sense something in each other that leads them to friendship and then to love, with some very hot love scenes along the way. With the help of Jude’s friends, Al gets to work in the Engineering Department at the university where he builds a phone like object to call his parents to come and get him since his spaceship was damaged beyond repair and was taken away by the government. But he doesn’t want to go without Jude because he has figured out they are true mates and also because of what happened to Jude after one of their love making sessions. There is some angst as Jude at first says he can’t go back to Al’s planet with him, that he doesn’t love him, and that he needs Al to sever their bond. This shakes Al to the core and after talking to Jude’s friends he does his best to convince him that they need to be together. Then Al’s parents come to pick him up and Jude has to make a decision of whether or not he loves Al enough to have him stay. I really enjoyed this story. The authors took their time to introduce Al and his world to what it was like to live on Earth as well as having Jude fall for him. Al was so cute and dorky and his command of English (which he was very proud of) led to some hilarious outcomes. He also developed a hatred of that language and of how time is measured and complains about them at every turn. He was also caring and kind and just what Jude needed in his life. Jude was also funny and often sarcastic and had to make some hard choices in what he wanted and needed. Their friends, Ezra and Corbin, also play a big part in the story as they help Jude and Al with their problems and I really like the job Ezra got at the end of the story and can’t wait to see how that plays out. And Buttons, Ezra’s cat, also has some great scenes. There is something that happens to Jude (that I am not going to give away) that helps him make the decisions he makes. I highly recommend this book, especially if you like alien stories about a cute and dorky alien who finds love with a down on his luck human and they create a life together that neither one of them expected to find. I am very much looking forward to reading the next book in the series to find out what will happen to them as well as a new main character.

Did anyone say alien romance?

Here I am! I can’t resist this kind of stories, and there are not enough intriguing and not too erotic (meaning just smut and porny-like plots) ones.

In this story we have Jude, your average human college student, and Al (also know as another thing in his native language, but I won’t look for it to copy-past it LOL). Their paths cross when Jude is heartbrokenly watching the stars the night Al’s spaceship crashes on Earth. Al asks for help with a sweet smile and big eyes, and after the shock, Jude decides to help the guy out.

Luckily for them, Al’s race can shapeshift so he can easily disguise himself as a human… and he does so like the hottest god-like man ever born before. Because why not? You can imagine how things go between the two, right? Much more considering as soon as they meet Al realizes Jude is none other than his True Mate! What are the odds?

The story is nice and easy to read. Funny, too, since Al is hilarious with his hate for English and his difficulties to adapt to our culture. Their romance is not unforgettable, but they have their hot moments and kinda fit together. I’m not a big lover of miscommunication… and that’s one of the biggest reasons of the drama that arises in the middle of the story. I didn’t hate it, though.

It was funny to some point seeing them not talking about THINGS, and why they didn’t. For example, there are things they don’t’ talk about not because they are avoiding the toping but because of differences in their culture or communicating skills.

I understood Jude’s reaction when he discovers everything that’s going on. I mean… my mind would have exploded too, lol. So even though I’m not that much of a fan of these kind of dramatic twists, I could empathize with him.

The ending is, maybe (and I can’t believe I’m saying something crazy like this lol), a bit too perfect to my liking. I mean… it’s highly unreasonable. There are thinks that aren’t explained, like how Jude’s family discovered the truth about Al and how they accepted it so easily considering they weren’t that pleased about his son’s homosexuality LOL

Overall, I can’t say I loved this, but it was real nice and enjoyable to read, and I will definitely be reading the next books (can’t wait for Al’s brother to land on Earth and fall in love with his own human… who will it be? I can’t wait to discover it!).

4.25ish stars for me! This is Piper's first new book in a while and with a new co-author, too! I'm so excited to get into new writing from her and this book did not disappoint. It's hilarious, endearing, sweet, full of feels, and I'm in desperate need of more.

Jude is a young college kid down on his luck when he happens to witness a crash landing - and the alien is the sweetest guy ever! Named Al, since his alien name isn't pronounceable, Jude takes him back and hides him while Al tries to figure out a way to reach home and his parents.

OK, I LOVE Al. His hatred of English, his literal use of all the words, his panic spiral over daylight savings time (I get it Al, I don't know why we do it either!!) just made him an absolute sweetie. I adored him trying to figure out everything. I also loved his friendship with Jude's friends and also how gone he was for Jude.

I do wish there had been a bit better communication between the two haha despite me talking all about Al and his use of English. Look, miscommunication tropes are my most disliked in all of romance and while this didn't completely cross over into the Big Misunderstanding territory, there were some points throughout the story that I just wished these two would TALK to each other.

This was SUCH a fun story! And yes, while the typical things that come along with omega verse are not present, we all know how Piper loves her eggs LOL.

Also - can we get stories for Ezra and Corbin? (specially Ezra omg he needs a hot alien of his own!) Maybe one of them with Kyle!

I received an arc in exchange for an honest review.

This was so cute! I was hesitant to read at first because the other reviews had me unsure if I’d like it. I’m glad I read it anyway.

I definitely felt more sympathy for Jude than some other readers, it seems. He hurt Al, but he had just been told he was pregnant and bonded to an alien without his knowledge or consent. Of course he’d react badly? With his history of growing overly attached to hookups (which I think Corbin outlined), I have no doubt Jude was trying to convince himself he could have a no-strings-attached relationship with Al, since there was a looming deadline when Al would literally leave the solar system.

Al was so goddamn precious, though. Though he never intended any harm, he was willing to sacrifice so much to put the situation to rights and ensure Jude’s happiness. And he was just charming and funny and authentic in the most precious way. I have so many of his quotes highlighted that I probably could’ve just highlighted any dialogue with him and had the same result.

I also loved Ezra. He was hilarious and such a good friend, to Al especially. Not that he wasn’t to Jude, because he was, but Al was literally alone on the planet, and Ezra recognized that. He checked in on Al’s feelings and helped him vent. He had no obligation to do that; he’s just a good dude. And he clearly loved Jude too, because he was rooting for Jude and Al all along.

The ending was a liiiittle “meh” for me, but not what I’d call bad. Everything wrapped up too easily for me, but I am a reader who tends to prefer a bit of angst and this is meant to be fluff. The financial burden was the big elephant in the room, and ultimately I assumed Jude and the kids would accompany Al back to his planet. They found a way to stay and that’s cool, but I still don’t understand how money from Al’s family converts to USD… what does that bank transfer look like? 😅 But, yknow. Aliens, human males having babies—I can suspend disbelief.

Overall, this was a funny and enjoyable read and I recommend it.

Al and Jude's romance was an adorable, quirky story about acceptance and finding love where you least expect it. I'm not much of an alien lover, but even I fell head over heels for Al, and watching him and Jude fall in love was something special. Despite literally being different species, Jude and Al had a surprising amount in common, most notably their rocky relationships with their families, and I found myself utterly charmed by their unexpected connection. Al had a lot to learn about being a human, and I had so much fun watching him adjust to (and complain endlessly about) all the eccentricities we disregard every day. He and Jude had a strong physical connection right from the start, but the two of them also developed a surprisingly deep emotional bond that neither of them acknowledged out loud for weeks. As entertaining and lighthearted as their days together were, Jude and Al had a lot of insecurities buried under the surface that affected the way they communicated with each other. Some of their misunderstandings were more severe than others, but despite some of the tense, heartbreaking moments along the way I truly did believe the two of them would find their way back to each other in the end. Some of the events in this story were absolutely wild, but I kinda love that this book didn't get bogged down in sci-fi and embraced the whimsical nature of star-crossed lovers. I got invested in Jude and Al's happiness easily, and while their fairytale ending was a little unconventional, I love the way things worked out for the two of them!

**I voluntarily read an ARC of this book. This review expresses my honest thoughts and opinions.

Out of this world fun

Light angst - Lots of laughs - Loads of smexy

“We’re inefficient, silly little creatures with bad calendars and bad communication skills.”

Al is a typical restless slightly rebellious 20-something.
Well typical with one exception-
He is an alien
And his "oops moment" crash landed him on earth
Thank goodness Jude was there staring at the stars contemplating his future and was able to save the day
Sort of

“Tea pot, introduce yourself to tea kettle.”

Great character development. Smoking chemistry between our two MC's
I adored Al he was such a sweet geek trying to phone home. Not an evil bone in his framework
Jude, however, I felt needed a bit of a knock knock at times to get him to come out of the clouds. He tended at times to deny the reality that wasn't conclusive to his current mood

"because that’s how everyone feels when they’re in love. Unfortunately, there’s nothing you can do about it except do the best you can as a partner and be honest with Jude about how you’re feeling.” - Ezra

Ezra, Corbin, and the fluffy secondary character brought so much to the story. Okay I just liked that he could communicate with said fluffy secondary character
I look forward to their stories as well as a slightly jealous brother or two
Both sets of 'rents needed a "come to" moment IMO

This is an MPreg alien romance with lots of steamy moments, a little angst (I was so mad at Jude), loads of humor, and eggs 😁

Power through.... Trust me

Loved about 70% of this story to death. The other 30% almost was enough to make me add it to the "dnf" pile. ADORED All so much it is indescribable. Ezra was amazing, Corbin was hilarious, and even Buttons was super cute. Jude... Not sold on jude. Even at the end of the book, didn't care as much for Jude.

It wasn't so much that Jude was wishy washy, or that he was the worst kind of partner (even though he kind of was through part of it)... Oh wait. Not only was he not honest with himself he basically rejected the idea that he had feelings for Al to the point that he convinced himself he didnt. I found that profoundly annoying and heartbreaking for Al. I really don't like that character type in general but even less when the other party is a cinnamon roll. Still, Jude isn't horrible, just a freaking idiot.

All though, was sweet and funny and adorable and thoughtful. Really all the best things in the world. Loved every second of him (expect when he was heartbroken). Would love to listen to him ramble about how inefficient humans are and how terrible the English language is.

Reccomend this book, and ill definitely reread it. For reals earned all 5 of those stars.

This book was interesting, in a good way! I found the writing to be really unique, and something that admittedly did take me a bit to get used to. Once I got used to the writing style, I did enjoy the story.

Al's character is such a sweet and kind alien, he tries so hard to adjust to human customs and to learn more about the world he crash landed on, even though he does not like certain parts of earth. The way he always tries to understand the things he doesn't know, and how he cares for Jude was just so endearing. And how he talks to Buttons! Adorable!! I love that he can communicate with the cat, that's so cute!

Jude's character was not my favorite, primarily because it almost seemed as though he was poking fun of Al's character the whole time. Then he broke Al's heart, and then acted like he was the one who's heart got broken. Despite that though I liked how these characters got along together and how they tried to learn things about each other. The aspect of gaining access to each other's language through the bond they share was really cool to read about! I also liked Ezra's character, I really hope he gets his own book at some point.

Overall a quirky story about an extraterrestrial crash landing on earth, and finding his True Mate.

Jude likes to drive out into the desert and look at the starts when life gets to be too much. He sees a shooting start and makes a wish – only it is not a shooting start. It is an alien space ship that crashes almost on top of him. Jude investigates and finds an alien getting out of the ship. He cannot resist his pleas for help and brings him home, changing his life forever.

Jude tries hard to resist the alien he names Al as he cannot pronounce his real name. Al has the power to learn languages but not always the intent. Therein ensues some absolutely amazing scenes that will have you laughing out loud. Both men did have some similarities with parents who were less than encouraging. Parents are the same everywhere. Falling in love is not always easy but when one is alien, there are many other problems. I loved this book from start to finish. It was fun to Al’s interpretation of American life, the language, and even Jude’s death car as Al calls it. In addition, Corbin and Ezra make for even more fun as the four make up their own family. I highly recommend it.

“Your face is changing color again,” Al said. “Is this because you are dissatisfied with my transmutation? I thought maybe this appearance would be appealing to you. I wanted to give you something you would be happy to look at.”
Sure, appealing was one word for it. God, Al’s biceps were so thick, and Jude wanted to get on his lap, grab onto them, find purchase, and then—
“Yup, no, it’s great, you did great, I love”— Jude did a vague, all-encompassing gesture at Al—“ this.”

I really enjoyed this book. It was a fun alien romance. Good world building. Al was my favorite character. He was so sweet and the way he talked made me smile. There was an adorable innocence to him. I liked that Jude was willing to help him after the crash despite having a lot to wrap his mind around. They had sizzling chemistry. I loved the supporting characters. I can't count how many times I smiled or laughed while reading. Jude needed some sense slapped into him for a time, and I hate that it hurt Al. Overall a very fun read. This was the first book I've read this these authors and I would read more. 5 stars.
