However, once in hand, I see no reason why I won't be using this knife for years until something happens to it. First, the size - it's not a massive knife and it's (just barely) under 3-inch blade is just about perfect for anything you could throw at it. You don't use these sized knives and think, "I wish I had a bigger blade for this task." You can pretty much do anything with it short of food preparation. I think the reason most people justify a larger knife is handle size. Here, the handle to blade ratio is as good as it gets on a folder (in my opinion). the slight swell at the butt enhances the grip and the notches on the back spine allow you to choke up with your thumb, while your pointer can grip the choil.
The micarta scales are perfectly grippy and look far better than plastic. That this knife comes in several variations is a big plus. Mine is the olive color micarta and it's a warm, earth tone that doesn't look out of place on a knife, in my opinion. The color is subtle as is the design of the knife. The understated aesthetics are what drew me to look at the knife in the first place. I think it's well designed.
The blade itself is as well-finished as the rest of the knife (fit and finish overall are as good as any factory blade I've seen). Edge from the factory is very good and the grind is smooth. Edge retention so far is good. Some people complain about D2 steel. For one thing, it's as hard as a knife needs to be (assuming the heat treat is good and this one seems to be) and you're not using it as a pry bar! Secondly, I've never had a problem with non-stainless steel rusting on me when I was using a tool every day, even with minimal care.
The flip action is just fine (I really don't care how fast a knife flips... you can pay big money for that and you've really just got a nice fidget toy). It does what it's supposed to and locks into place with no blade play at all after using it for a week or so every day.
Lastly, the deep-carry clip is nice. I can't understand why more knives don't utilize them. I wonder how resilient it will be given that I've only carry it for a week or so. Either way, the design is good and it won't slip out of your pocket or get easily caught in seat belts, etc. like even some of the more high-end knives I've owned do.
In short, a really great value.
It came hair-shaving sharp right out of the box, and after some use, I found it quick and easy to touch up. The flipper works easily, making deploying the blade super quick and easy, much like my American made Kershaw Leek.
The micarta canvas scales add some class and are grippy enough and comfortable. The pocket clip is positioned so it offers good, deep pocket carry, and it can be removed if you want to drop it in your pocket. It's light weight, but feels substantial enough in hand to handle some stout cutting.
Even though I own several similar high-quality American made knives (I have a problem when it comes to knives, flashlights, and other EDC items!), I find myself reaching for this one in the morning often. Because of the price point, I'm less hesitant to really use (and even abuse) this knife, which is the whole point of carrying a blade daily.
Overall, it's a great knife and an incredible value.
Enjoyed this knife so much I also upgraded the clip to the titanium CIVIV and it may not fit as deep in my pocket but it’s a improvement over the original
Will be buying these for my grandson’s. The workmanship and quality are amazing and a great value knife for every day carry

Just got it so these are my first thoughts. Very happy with the knife. Blade is pretty sharp and opens quite easily using my forefinger. Black clip should hide easily in my pants pocket. First time with a Micarta handle but it has a good grip and feels good in my hand. I got the Dark Green color which is really dark — looks more like light black with olive highlights. Knife is light at 2.74 oz so it should be easy to carry even with light fabric shorts. Looking forward to using more!
One quick update. Knife is great but I lost it while clipped to my right front pants pocket while riding a bike. In fact, I may of lost the previous knife I had the same way. Should have figured it out earlier -- just warning you in case you like to wear the same way and ride a bike. I will replace with the same knife.
Another update. The clip is attached by two, very small hex screws. They became loose and I lost one before realizing what is happening. This means the clip becomes unusable and spins with one screw. Knocking a star off since you will need probably need to buy a special small hex wrench to tighten these screws.
