Bought this Patriot Electric chipper because my Simplicity Electric Chipper burned out after 17 yrs. of work. No comparison. Spend more time clearing out the blades than I do actually chipping leaves and stems.

I recently purchased the Chipper/Shredder and only just now had an opportunity to try it out. It seemed fine, chopping sunflower stakes easily until it jammed. I was unable to free it up with a stick and had to disassemble it according to directions provided. The directions did not match the product. I 'figured it out' then found that the outer bearing would not slide off the shaft. By the time I got it off with a gear puller the bearing was damaged. At this point it is not useable or returnable. I would say skip this product, it is not suitable for shredding garden waste.
