About this ebook

*Book #1.5 in the Slater Brothers series.*

Bronagh Murphy has been through a lot over the past few years, a hell of a lot, so when her 21st birthday rolls around all she wants to do is relax and spend the day with her family. Quietly.

Her boyfriend, Dominic Slater, doesn't do relaxed or quiet. He never has, and he never will. He plans out a day for Bronagh that is both romantic, and exciting. However, Dominic's version of exciting is very different to Bronagh's as she will soon find out.

When things take a turn for the worst, and a bad altercation leaves Dominic once again fighting for his girl, Bronagh will have to decide once and for all if she will fight in Dominic's corner or walk away and never look back.

Bronagh loves Dominic, and what Bronagh loves, Bronagh protects.

Loved the first book. This one is really unnecessary. However, book 2 takes off where this one is ended. So it's not a total loss.

First book was great! But from then on it starts going downhill. If you liked the first book I highly recommend not reading this because it feels like the author is dragging it out. Also this whole whole book is based on one day and that is a major major let down you would've thought that you would see everyday life but no, you see a birthday that is filled with crying and 'I just want to kill you' moments. If you're into that by all means read it, if you aren't into emotional drama, 'please grow up' moments, and hair pulling moments save yourself the trouble and read on the series with a happy thought of Dominic and Bronagh.

Bronagh - L.A. Casey

CHAPTER ONE

Happy birthday, baby!

I heard my sister’s voice sing with glee, but I couldn’t muster up the energy to lift my head from my pillow.

Bee? Branna prompted. Hello? You’re twenty-one today, get your lazy arse up.

I remained still.

Okay, she clicked her tongue. "I wanted to do this the easy way, but since ye won’t get up ye’ve left me no choice."

I heard her leave the room in defeat. I smiled to myself as I snuggled deeper into my pillow and tangled myself up in my duvet. I was so content, but that serenity ended a few minutes later when my sister came back into my bedroom armed with a weapon.

A deadly weapon.

Rise and shine!

For a split-second things were silent, then there was a sloshing sound before everything became freezing and wet. I shrieked in shock and coughed when I breathed down water instead of oxygen. I scrambled upright until I was standing in the middle of my bed. My sopping wet pyjama top clung to my body like a second skin.

"Branna!"

My sister dropped the bucket in her hands to the floor. "I told you to get up, she laughed, but ye wouldn’t listen."

I wiped the cold water out of my eyes. When I lowered my hands, it was just in time to see the back of Branna as she legged it out of my bedroom at top speed.

"I’m gonna bleedin’ kill you!"

I jumped off my bed and almost broke my neck on the wet floor that I absolutely would not be cleaning up. When I made it out on the carpeted landing, I took off like a bat out of Hell down the stairs in search for my sister. I checked the sitting room first, but it was empty. I backed out into the hallway, and my eyes zeroed in on the kitchen door. I moved forward and flung the door open.

Happy birthday!

I ignored the cheers from the men that filled my kitchen and searched around their bodies for my victim. She was somewhere near, I could sense it.

Bumble bee, Kane sighed. Have you ever heard of pyjama pants, kid?

Kane Slater was the brother of my boyfriend, Dominic Slater. Dominic had three older brothers—Ryder, Alec, and Kane. He also had a younger brother by four minutes. Yep, an identical twin by the name of Damien Slater. The Slater brothers were five hot-headed, mouth-watering studs, and little me got to call one of them mine.

Kane’s words caused my eyes to drop and I rapidly realised that I wasn’t wearing bottoms, just my knickers. My very wet—and not in a sexy way—knickers.

Sweet suffering Jesus.

Branna, I growled like a dog. Where is she?

Each of the brothers looked over their shoulders to where a crouching Branna was hiding ... or trying to hide behind Ryder.

She let out a shout, You traitorous bastards!

I darted forward and she screamed.

She scrambled forward and manoeuvred around Kane, who looked rather pale. He hadn’t been feeling well lately. I would have stopped and checked if he was okay, but I was on a mission. I focused on my sister who escaped out of the kitchen door and into the back garden.

Leave me alone! Branna shouted as she heaved herself up onto the years old trampoline that sat in the centre of the garden. "I was only doin’ what Dominic told me to do!"

"I didn’t tell you to pour water over her, you lying little—"

Finish that sentence, kid. Ryder interrupted. "I dare you."

Using the bobbin on my wrist, I tied my mass of damp hair in an untidy bun and kept my gaze trained on my sister.

Stay away from me, Bronagh.

Her giggles taunted me.

Ye think this is a game? I climbed up onto the trampoline. "Ye think pourin’ water over me is funny?"

No, she snorted. What’s funny is you chasin’ me around in a pair of ugly granny knickers.

I reared back as if she slapped me.

Take that back! I demanded. They’re very comfortable.

Branna raised an eyebrow. What does Dominic think of your granny knickers?

With a roll of my eyes, I said, Dominic, d’ye care that I wear granny knickers to bed?

"They slide down those thick thighs with ease, baby. I don’t mind them at all."

That was exactly the kind of response was expecting.

There’s your answer, I grinned. Now, c’mere to me.

Not a chance.

Why?

"I was born at night, not last night. She balanced herself. I know you’re gonna bash me."

I steadied myself on the moving trampoline.

"Ye poured ice water over me head and soaked me mattress. I think a little slap on the arse is a small price to pay for that horrible wake up call."

Branna didn’t move. Your slaps hurt though.

Her childish answer made me chuckle.

Branna you’re thirty-one … time to act your age, don’t ye think? I smiled. "I mean, you’re forty in nine years."

Branna came at me like a bull but because she was on the trampoline, she fell flat at my feet before she could put her hands on me. I heard the brothers laugh when she fell and it made me chuckle too, that was until she wrapped her hands around my ankles and pulled. I went flying up into the air until I came down and landed on my back with a bounce.

That was brilliant! I spluttered with laughter. "Dominic, did ye see that?"

Yeah, he chuckled. I saw it, baby... and I can also see Branna crawling over to you.

I lifted my head up from the trampoline in time to see Branna pounce on me.

No mercy!

I rolled out of the way. Branna face-planted into the trampoline, and while she was momentarily unmoving, I dove on her and pinned her hands behind her back while I sat on her arse to hold the rest of her body down.

Get off me!

I leaned forward, placing my mouth by her ear. What part of no mercy don’t you understand?

Let me up! She struggled. I’m older than you!

I stayed put. Apologise for throwin’ water on me and I will.

Branna remained mute.

I’m not movin’ until you say sorry.

My sister took in a few deep breaths. I’m sorry, okay?

She groaned when I got up, and carefully got to her feet. She reached around and touched her arse then grunted in my direction.

I’m all wet because of you.

"How wet are you?"

Branna and I looked at Alec because that question was so … him.

I looked back at Branna when she unsteadily walked in my direction. I thought she was going to playfully hit me so I blocked my face with my hands, but instead of pinches or tickles I felt her arms come around me.

Happy birthday, baby, she cooed. You’re all grown up.

I put my arms around her and hugged her back. Thanks, Bran.

She suddenly looped her leg behind mine and pushed me back by my shoulders. I slammed down onto the trampoline and it knocked the breath out of me.

Slightly winded, I rasped, What was that for?

For pinnin’ me.

She began to jump up and down, laughing merrily as I rolled from side to side on the trampoline. When I giggled, she finally showed me mercy. I watched as she climbed out of the trampoline net then down the ladder with the assistance of Ryder. She pulled Ryder and Alec into the house while Dominic climbed up on the trampoline to see to me. He closed the netting of the trampoline and crawled over to me, rolled me onto my back and wiggled his way in between my legs and hovered over me.

Can I help ye, sir?

His grey eyes shone bright. You can give me a kiss. I haven’t had one since last night.

I haven’t brushed me teeth yet.

So?

I have mornin’ breath.

No, you don’t.

He leaned his head down to mine and puckered his lips. I quickly pressed my lips to his, but only for a second.

That was a poor attempt, he murmured. Try again.

"I’ll kiss the lips off you after I brush me teeth and shower."

Dominic grinned. I could use a shower.

You showered this mornin’ after you came back from your run, I heard you.

He rubbed his nose against mine. D’you know what time that was at?

Stupid o’clock?

Five thirty.

I shivered. "That is way too early to be doin’ anythin’ but sleepin’."

I always wake up early, you know that.

Yeah I do, because you always touch me arse before you get out of bed and it wakes me up.

Dominic frowned. I have to say goodbye to my baby and reassure her that I’ll be back.

I forced myself not to smile. Stop referrin’ to me arse as a separate person.

Dominic covered my mouth with his hand. Shhhh! She’ll hear you.

I smiled up at him when he removed his hand. He took a moment to stare down at me before he lowered his face to mine and claimed my mouth with his. He grabbed my hands and thrust my arms above my head while he forced his tongue into my
