Probably! Side Hustle is compatible with iPhone 12 or newer & any Qi2 device. Your case also has to be MagSafe compatible. Unfortunately not all MagSafe cases were created equal. Keep your mind at ease, grab a Gripmunk for the strongest connection.

I hated all the market MagSafe wallets due to either being made of leather, fabric like shinjimori, or has thumbhole that strips magnet from card like spigen armor. This wallet is perfect for peeps looking for plastic MagSafe. The backing is rubber like texture and with strong magnet it holds strong. Can hold up to 3 cards. The durability is kind of middling but without making it thicker, it is what it is. If you need plastic MagSafe with no thumb hold to mess with magnet strips and altogether easy to use quick access to your cards, this is the MagSafe for everyone.

Functions Perfectly But…

I debated whether to give this 3 or 4 stars, it’s definitely 4 when it comes to function, but I’m less impressed overall. It’s a rigid plastic item that doesn’t feel that good in the hand, and I hate to say it since I love Smartish products and have quite a number of their cases (been buying them long before they were called Smartish), but there’s a cheap feel to it. When putting this on an expensive MagSafe phone, my new 14 Pro Max, it just doesn’t feel right.

However, if you can get past that it gives you everything you need if only carrying 3-4 cards. I intentionally put in 4 cards to see if that would be an issue when needed. It is not. It will accept 4, they are very secure, it will take a little effort to get them out. As Smartish recommends 3 is the ideal number, still extremely secure and very little effort required to remove them when you need to. The edges of the cards tend to be pushed out from the bottom side of the wallet at a bit of an angle. Making them easy to grasp with your fingers to remove them.

I’m using a Smartish Gripmunk MagSafe case which this wallet strongly adheres to. The side of the wallet that sticks to your case or bare MagSafe phone is somewhat rubbery in texture giving it an even more secure connection to the case in addition to the magnets. Very little if any sliding around, with 3 cards loaded, just a tiny bit if you’re trying to get 4 out. This thing has tremendous grip. And I highly recommend the Gripmunk case, which I’ve reviewed here on Amazon. I have several other MagSafe wallets, several with a stand feature, and they adhere strongly to the case when they did not work as well with another case I have from another manufacturer. But the combo of this wallet and a Gripmunk case will give you the ultimate in secure MagSafe use. Smartish does it again!

My last Smartish phone case (with the built in wallet) was by far the best phone case I’ve ever had. I’m the type of person who swaps out their phone cases nonstop and that was the first one that I kept on for almost two years straight. The only issue I had is that it doesn’t work with my ever-finicky phone mount in the car. I bought several dozen magsafe cases and magsafe wallet options trying to find something sturdy enough so I won’t lose my wallet, a wallet durable enough so I won’t lose my cars, and a magnet strong enough that it can mount when I’m driving through the countryside.

Smartish was the only option that worked for any of the above.
The magnet that holds the wallet is strong enough that it takes just enough effort to take the wallet off (thank god, it does. so many other magsafe wallets fell off with just a slight resistance from my jean pockets or even a little mid-air jiggle).

I feel like Smartish is the only company that gets these things right.

Week In, Card Slip Out Slightly

So week of daily usage. I’ve done 3 cards since day one. Magnetic grip is solid, design is nice (though felt the gray wooden pattern was lighter in person than pictured), but cards seem to slip now. The mechanism that holds them in place is only on one side of the wallet, and I’m finding the other side is where the cards have begun creeping out. They haven’t fallen completely out, but did have an instance where when retrieving my phone from my pocket a corner of one card was out far enough it pulled half way out at an angle, and tugged the two other cards out maybe a quarter of the way. Shaking it around now also results in the cards becoming exposed at the angle. Not very excited about that given it’s only been a week.

Cards inside are two ‘normal’ credit cards (normal for me, in terms of thickness and whatnot), and my license. The license is a bit thinner in my state, but nothing crazy.

Will try it a bit more to see if changing cards makes any difference, but not sure I should even need to do that. Likely to send this one back.
