The scope is of reasonably good quality. The optics have been clear enough at maximum magnification for my needs. The weather and lighting have mostly been good, so I can't make any comments about its low-light capabilities. I shot with it in heavy snow, which was a mistake. The target was barely visible at 200 yards without any optics, so the occluded view through the scope may have been insurmountable with any glass. The adjustments are also very regular and accurate. A box drill I performed would have yielded the smallest group I've ever shot from the rifle (0.7" at 200 yards). Out of the box there was a dysfunction with the erector that was cured by screwing the elevation turret all the way up and all the way down several times. Evidently this is a common occurrence with cheap scopes, and some "break in" is required.
The only downfalls of the scope are the soft and indistinct clicks of the turrets. The clicks are just loud enough to be audible and tactile without gloves. The marks don't line up though, as others have noted. The similarly priced Bushnell 3200, for example, does both of these things better with the same type of single screw turret retention. Still, the PA is more feature-rich and of comparable quality in all other regards. In PA's defense a second scope I purchased this year (2015) has much more positive clicks, though the alignment problem persists. The parallax adjustment is easy to use and seems accurate at all ranges I've tried it. The power adjustment ring is a little stiff, but I'm happy to report that it also breaks in, and the cat tail made by 3-Gun makes it even easier.
If you're looking for a beginner LR scope, you won't do better than this. I may upgrade sometime in the future, but not the immediate future. I had a chance to side-by-side the PA and a Vortex Razor HD G2. While the Vortex was a bit lighter and clearer on a misty, muddy morning, I can't say it performed 10 times better given it's 10 times the price. I can't even say it was twice as good, but optics are like that.
