The lizards in Florida are unbelievably fast. Once in a great while, a curious one will sneak inside the house just before the door closes. Instantly, the wildest chase begins! Theresa Brown has lived in Florida her whole life, and she makes sure that when a lizard gets in--the lizard gets out.  The chase does not end until those four fast feet zip out the door.

About the Author

Theresa Brown is an author and poet from Clearwater, Florida. She lives with her family on two quiet acres where nature is frolicking outside her windows and doorways, regularly auditioning for a spot in one of her books.

Theresa is a graduate from Eckerd College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Creative Writing. She is the author of Honey Bee Haiku, Little Foundlings, and A Timekeeper's Journal: Recording the Legacy of a Timepiece, and Rupert's Hammock. On The Loose has been a joy to design with Emily Cyr.

Theresa Brown is a Florida based author, poet, and technical writer with a degree in Creative Writing from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Theresa lives in Clearwater, Florida, on two quiet acres with her family. The landscape around her home is very peaceful, and has been naturally designed to attract nature, by providing food, water, and shelter through native landscaping, water gardens, and sustainable gardening practices. Whether it is morning, noon, or night, nature is frolicking outside of her windows and doorways…auditioning for a spot in one of her stories.

My boys are grown, but I bought two copies- one for each of them to share with their kids one day. I hope everyone saves the lizards on the loose in their house. ( and enjoy the chase as much as they will enjoy the book!! )

This book was for our 4 year old granddaughter. We got the paperback - the quality of the book was impressive. The story was cute and fun and held our granddaughter's attention throughout. The graphics are are really well done, too. We very much like Theresa Brown's books, and thus far we have bought 3 of them. (if you can hold a 4 year old's attention for a period of time, that's a good thing)

This is such a fun story about a lizard that gets into the house and the mayhem that ensues when the family tries to safely get it back outside. I love the rhyming element of the story which makes it very appealing for young children. The illustrations are so colorful and fun and really pull you into the adventure! Highly recommend!!
