First, I read this book in one-sitting. For a busy guy with a very active mind who can get easily distracted ... that's a big deal!Second, I've had the pleasure of knowing Mark and Kevin for the past year -- they're the real deal.Third, the passage that I highlighted above was so powerful for me because I've seen the evidence of this in my own life. When I treat my family like it's of paramount importance, things work so much better all around.Finally, read this book if you want to learn from two genuine people (who also happen to be super successful) about how to live a better life.

I was first exposed to the book through the MentorBox. I went through the entire course segment and then purchased the AudioBook. In my work as an educator administrator, we mentor faculty, students, entrepreneurs, the community, and other stakeholders. I was looking for a method to leverage the span of support and service. What I found was a good reference for supporting team building whether at the micro-level in the household or scaling up to larger entities such as multi-billion dollar companies. What I found most intriguing was the concept of a fair deal. I also like the work on the Red and Blue ocean for wading out of the red sea of competition and finding unique and innovative marketplace niches.

Although the book is co-authored by Kevin, there is very little of his story -- except as it relates to the mentee and how the relationship leveraged the scalability of Timm & his family businesses. An interesting story, but I am not sure the mentor/mentee journey method here is scalable. First, you start with a super-grand dad of a star such as Zig Zigler as the mentor and access to his legacy through his family; those relationships and networks are rare gold. However, the book has a few great stories on collaboration to scale and entrepreneurial success -- well worth the time to read.

Some really great nuggets of wisdom in this book, but overall I feel like it was geared toward the parenting crowd with too much focus on running one's family like a business. This isn't a topic that will appeal to everyone. Will Smith did that and it blew up in his face. Moreover, I'm interested in the 'secrets of success in business' part, but feel this book was very thin in this regard.

Also, Kevin only writes a very small section of the book, which is a huge miss in my opinion. People will pick up this book, expecting to hear from Kevin, one of America's most successful, dynamic, and prolific entrepreneurs and find out that it's pretty much written by Tim about his kids. And that's another thing that bugged me. Tim is clearly very proud of his family (and rightly so, by the sounds of it), but why are we learning business lessons from untested high school kids running after-school charity drives, while Kevin’s sage and hard-won advice – that has earned him bazillions - gets relegated to the side column?

I've heard Kevin speak at live events before. He's incredibly engaging, enthusiastic, and I'm a big fan of his. Kevin is the one that offers up the real gems of insight that this book has to offer, not Tim, who positions himself as an awe-inspired newbie. Tim is a successful businessman in his own right, so why isn’t he offering up any pearls of wisdom? The book is written from Tim’s fawning perspective of Kevin, to what purpose I don’t understand. Some of the lines were exceedingly ‘purple’ at how Tim describes his first few interactions with Kevin: jaws dropping open and other cringe-worthy lines. Why is Tim sharing Kevin’s hard earned lessons second-hand? Why isn’t Kevin writing these sections? This information should be coming straight from the horse’s mouth.

Some great material in here, strange execution. Still a big fan. :)

I really want to thank them both for writing this book because it's something this world really needs. It's short, easy to read, and PACKED with so much wisdom. In my opinion, page 76 is the most powerful part of the entire book (in my case specifically.)

What a book. Congratulations to both Mark and you. Very inspirational with lots of learning.
By the time I got to Prologue I was hooked. It is such a timely consideration - my career and my family. I remember meeting my boss in flight deck. I was with my teenage son. When I introduced them, my boss turned to my son and asked “do you know what your mother is doing” and of course he did not. Leave your work at work and be home when you get home – was the way most people thought then. We ourselves grew up with the conviction that children should enjoy their childhood as long as they can, and not be forced to work, but children look for inspiration and are prepared to work for it. Has not the world transformed? You showed how you created family relationship that stimulates personal growth of parents and children alike through sharing experiences, mentorship, partnership and trust. You made Time - cooperate.

The book taught me a lot about the entrepreneurship. I believe in Zig Ziglar’s quote that “you can have anything in life you want if you’ll just help enough people “. I believe in the power of fair deal, exponential thinking, mindset and the desire to transform the client’s life / business. I like the concept of canvas planning – starting with an empty canvas, asking powerful questions, visualising problem and taking action. I do that at work, but at home – no. It feels superficial. I tried, but failed miserably (fast) – did not get the buying from the family.

I am not yet an entrepreneur, but I am sharpening my curiosity, building my desire and confidence by taking small actions - fighting the procrastination and recognizing the need for a dream team, where I need some more courage,

Summarising, I found myself in the book. Found it relevant, current now and the foreseeable future. I can reach for it whenever I need encouragement.

I also liked you sharing how the book was created.
