About Us
Auralex Acoustics was founded over 40 years ago on the belief that there had to be a much better alternative to the acoustic foam panels available at that time. Indeed there was; not only dramatically less expensive, but also with significant performance advantages. Today Auralex takes pride in offering a full line of acoustical products based on the “better mousetrap” principle. The great initial success of Studiofoam quickly led to other innovations including our Venus and LENRD Bass Traps. When no reasonably priced diffusors existed, we developed the high-performance T’Fusor and GeoFusor, we introduced the MAX-Wall and Stand-Mounted LENRDs to great widespread acclaim!

Looking for solutions to these issues, I came across this Auralex products and thought it's definitely worth a try given it wasn't a huge investment and the isolation platform looks inconspicuous compared to room treatments which look unsightly. The product is well finished and barely visible at all once installed.
I'm sure you want to know about the sonic impact, so i'll talk a little bit about that. All i can say is this simple product makes a huge amount of difference to the bass produced. I re-ran audyssey XT32 calibration and the results for the two subs had completely changed. There was now very little level difference between them and the distances had reduced, to almost exactly what they measure (audyssey added 25% to measurements to account for room and phase issues) The low end - 22hz and below - is much tighter and cleaner, and has now stopped rattling the walls whilst still retaining that low-end room pressurising bass. The mid-range bass - 25-40hz - is warmer and richer. Overall the sound is more articulate and less flappy, with a smoother crossover / roll-off towards the 60hz point (where i cross my fronts)
In summary, this product is fantastic, Remember that the frequencies where a sub operates (below 120hz) is at the mercy of the room characteristics, so room correction becomes crucial. Audyssey helps, but it can't work miracles so If you are struggling to place your sub / subs and/or have limited options, give Auralex a try.
After placing my sub (Sunfire True subwoofer EQ12) on the platform and repeating all of the setup equalization, standing wave and phase adjustments etc for the sub and then for the entire speaker system combined, my only thought was "this is an incredible value". Virtually all of the subs coupling to the building was gone. No rattling windows and doors, no framed artwork vibrating on the walls, no subwoofer walking around the room, no small objects falling from shelves. Musical material sounded live and not like a boombox ramped up past clipping. The subwoofer could not be localized and simply disappeared into the music leaving only an enriched sound stage. LFE's in theatrical material set the mood and captured your attention as the director intended with out the distraction of localization of the sub and stray vibrations from building and furnishings. The annoying sensation that the sub was coupled through the floor directly to my but was gone (except when it was clearly the intent of director (ie Terminator 2 and 3) Finally I no longer have to drag a very heavy sub back to its proper place in the room after each use. It really did subdue an over zealous (1400 amps in the box) subwoofer adding dramatic sonic enrichment with out focusing your attention on the unit.
Keeping the rubber feet on the sub, rather than using the spike feet, this device has kept the subwoofer where it belongs with minimal "hop." Much less unwanted vibration from furniture, etc. and the thing decouples it pretty well from the floor, while still allowing great response. Thought it would be more effective than it is, but it works pretty well for the cost.
The construction itself is just OK. Was expecting a more technical type of foam, but this uses what I would classify as "packing-grade" material as its base. Wondering about the longevity of this material, and potential breakdown/brittleness. The top fabric is pretty nice, grippy, too, but looks as if it will become a dust magnet. Overall, compared to a lot of similar products on the market, this is of lower cost and from the majority of reviews, gains positive results. I'll vote on the positive side, and re-asses here later if needed.
I initially tested it with some standard go-to scenes from movies - the intro to Toy Story 2, for example. The bass was definitely better, but not as much as I was thinking. Then I tested it with music, I used Gypsy Eyes from The Rippingtons, which is very difficult to dial in the right amount of bass. The difference amazing! I could not believe how much tighter and clearer the bass sounded. I followed up with more movie scenes and can now notice the substantial improvement.

Irre.
:P Sorry amazon :P
Also: für oben genannte Zwecke: Kaufen!
Muy recomendable.
