I fell in love with the Lana Harvey series over two years ago and was eagerly awaiting the newest installment, Psychopomp.
Let me just tell you--it was well worth the wait.

We jump back into the realm of Eternity with our favorite reluctant Reaper, Lana Harvey, who has been dragged into yet another top secret mission, this time by Grim's second in command. Apparently there's more trouble in paradise--the rebels are ramping up attacks and there is a promise of something big happening that has Grim on edge.

Lana (who has a past of being an underachiever and bit of a rule breaker) now has to deal with being a model captain of her new team, a good student, an even better friend and maintain her status with her super hot (as in Hell) boyfriend, Beelzebub. All while maintaining her sanity...and staying alive of course!

Roquet's world building skill is simply superb. Eternity (the world that Lana lives in) is rich with description and you feel as though this really does exist out there. There are only a handful of authors that can make me fall in love with characters and Angela Roquet has joined that list. I felt bad for Lana as she moved from crisis to crisis. I teared up a little at the end (don't worry, I won't spoil it for you). And there are so many good actions scenes it's hard to have a favorite. So naturally, I was clamoring for more when the book ended. You know when your favorite tv show ends on a cliffhanger and you go "Gah! What the hell?! I need to know what happens next!!"? Yeah. That. Those are the feels that hit me whenever we wrap up another chapter of Reaper, Inc. history.

If you haven't already checked out this series, stop what you're doing and pick it up. Right now. And then call me in the morning so we can rave about it together. Of course, I give Psychopomp 5 out of 5 stars. I can't wait to see what happens next!

I discovered the series by mistake and I have to say I really like, especially the different spin on the paranormal genre. I would recommend to read the series in order since it is a continuing storyline. I like the characters and storyline and I can't wait to see what will happen next. The nice thing when you discover a Series late is that there is not waiting time between books.

I love all of the Reaper books. Although I'm 70 years old and this book is clearly written for a younger audience, I found these books clever, funny, and suspenseful. The action"scenes weren't overly bloody but done well enough to get the point across. The main character, Lana, is a perfect portrait of how a twenty-something woman's mind and emotions would be--a little self absorbed, sometimes emotionally reactive, interested in clothes, romance, and social life. She's brave, smart, and just flawed enough for us to like her. The supporting characters of reapers, angels, demons, and dogs are believable and well written. There could be a single book written about any one of them.

As for the writing, Angela could use a better editor, but overall the writing style was good, held my interest enough to overlook the few errors.

I love this series. She's a much better writer than many in this genre and it makes the difference. Lana is a reaper with special skills and interesting friends that include Gabriel (yes THAT angel), Holly Spirit (it's a typo!) and King Tut and shops at a boutique owned by Athena.
This is the 4th book (in a 7 books series, plus a few short stories) and in any series some books are terrific and some are meh and move the series along. This one is terrific. The entire series has held my attention and forced me to binge them.
I had started to read her other series (Blood Vice) and found the first in this Reapers series (Graveyard Shift) as a kindle deal and have not looked back.

Psychopomp, Lana Harvey, Reapers Inc. Book #4,
by Angela Roquet

When I picked up the first book of this series, "Graveyard Shift," I didn't expect it to become a favorite series; it just sounded like a fun little read. However, I've become addicted, blowing through the first four novels in this currently 5-novel series in just over a month, while reading a few other books as well. An avid reader since childhood, finding a new "favorite" series is like making a new friend. The friend never lets you down, stays steady and true through the years, never fails to make you smile, and even if there have been months between get togethers, you feel instantly at ease from page 1. For me, this series is all that.

You can read my praise of Roquet's style in my other reviews -- hard to find new ways to say the same thing book after book. So, I'll just say that I appreciate her attention to all of the things that make a novel read smoothly: grammar, phrasing, proofing, interesting concepts, intriguing, yet consistent characters, flawless plotting, seamless pacing, etc. Thank you, Angela Roquet. Thank you also for the quotes at the beginning of each chapter, which are always germane to the subject of the chapter and always, always make me smile. Most of all, I appreciate Roquet's ability to tie up the loose ends of the immediate crises in the novel, while still leaving the door open to the saga that will continue in the next novel. I walk away from the novel feeling that I WANT to read the next novel to see what is coming down the pike, not that I HAVE to read it to find resolution. I'm finding that many of the new-to-me authors I've been reading over the past year or two cannot handle that and finding one who does makes me very happy.

In this episode, the afterlife war with the rebels is heating up. Finally, even Grim has to get more involved than just giving orders. Betrayals are had. Beloved characters will leave us. Existing relationships will end; new ones will be forged. Lana will find new sorrows, but new purpose as well.

Looking for a fantasy series that seems to parallel real life? Try this one.

I really enjoyed this, the fourth book in the 'Reapers Inc'., series. They have all been good, and in this the characters really seem to flesh out. Plots are good...knowing how the story has been progressing, at one point you wonder about Lana's, the lead character, love interest, and you have a few different ideas about where he's headed.

Some funny bits, some scary bits, and some sad bits. All written in Angela's easy going style. Only one BIG problem, and Angela take note, the next book isnt out yet. Getting withdrawal symptoms already!

Story flowed nicely with a perfect amount of action to keep it moving. My only complaint was that it wasn't long enough. Thoroughly enjoyed the book despite the unhappy ending.... though hopefully this will be resolved in the next book of the series.
