All Your Fault: A Small Town Single Parent Romance (Jewel Lakes Small Town Romance Book 5) Kindle Edition
He's everything I shouldn't want.
When my husband got sick, he made me promise to find someone else when he was gone. On my first attempt, I crashed and burned. So I swore never to try again, focusing only on my foodie blog and my girls. But when pictures of me on an accidental non-date with my friend's brother—serious curmudgeon and yes, seriously hot single dad Will Archer—explode my blog hits, I have to rethink my strategy.
Getting sexy, surly Will to pose as my fake boyfriend could be the thing to course correct my struggling blog. But how can I ask him when our shaky friendship is clearly hiding something much deeper? Something neither one of us wants to admit is even there?
ALL YOUR FAULT is a steamy single-parent age-gap romance with a guaranteed happily ever after.

Song by Roxette
It must have been love
But it's over now
Lay a whisper
On my pillow
Leave the winter
On the ground
I wake up lonely
There's air of silence
In the bedroom
And all around
Touch me now
I close my eyes
And dream away
It must have been love
But it's over now
It must have been good
But I lost it somehow
It must have been love
But it's over now
From the moment we touched
Till the time had run out
Make believing
We're together
That I'm sheltered
By your heart
But in and outside
I turned to water
Like a teardrop
In your palm
And it's a hard
Winter's day
I dream away
It must have been love
But it's over now
It was all that I wanted
Now, I'm living without
It must have been love
But it's over now
It's where the water flows
It's where the wind blows
It must have been love
But it's over now
It must have been good
But I lost it somehow
It must have been love
But it's over now
From the moment we touched
Till the time had run out
Yeah, it must have been love
But it's over now
It was all that I wanted
Now, I'm living without
It must have been love
But it's over now
It's where the water flows
It's where the wind blows
It must have been love
But it's over now
It must have been love
But it's over now
Will lost his love to divorce. Michelle lost her love to death. Meeting each other both run as fast as possible away from a relationship but the chemistry and electricity is there. Lots of trials and tribulations to end up with each other. The path to grief resolution rocky and thorny but make it they do. Definitely a coming to enlightenment read. If you have suffered a total love loss this is the book to read Part of the Jewel Lake series and such good vibes as you finish the read.

Top 5 reasons to read All Your Fault
1.) Writing is relatable and easy to follow.
I have enjoyed reading the series because the author makes sure that each book is a standalone and any backstory is summarized clearly. This book is suitable for followers and non-followers of the series because it gives a brief background on some of the past characters' stories.
2.) Character development is slower but poignant and honest.
It is impossible not to love Michelle and Will. Both have their flaws but also their strengths whenever they get together. It is as if one wouldn't be as "good" alone versus together. They were terrific "springboards" of each other and helped guide the other on a "better path/option."
I enjoyed Michelle's growth after her husband's passing. There are more underlying things happening than a simple work-related accident that gutted me upon my discovery. I appreciate the author mentioning this issue, which helped explain the helplessness of the situation. Although not detailedly discussed, it made me research and seek out further information about it. Michelle is one brave woman to have gone through what she did and raised wonderful kids - all at the same time.
Will's growth and acceptance of the inevitable came at the end, but I thought it rounded out the story very well. With his admission, Michelle was able to accept what was going on between them. I think Will is brave in that way.
3.) Secondary supporting characters - mostly family, siblings, and own children were cute and lovely.
Everyone in the book surrounding Michelle and Will provided a good balance of seriousness and humor - from Michelle's parents, witty kids' antics to Will's hilarious daughter Remy and later Will's nagging sister, Stella. I love how things can go from one spectrum of emotions to another with these colorful supporting casts.
My favorite characters were Michelle's mom and Michelle's daughter, Emma. Both characters' ages might be too far apart, but they gave either a very thought-provoking comment/advice or a hilarious retort in many scenes. I either laughed at the reply and stopped and pondered what these characters said. Who knew that wit and humor could skip a generation (hint Michelle) and land to the next.
4.) The ending shows how important family bonds are. Family is everything!
I liked how the author made Michelle realize she was hindering her from "growing" and moving on. It had to take Will's action and words to finally open her eyes to the possibility of a bright future with Will.
I wanted to hug Will when he did what he did at the bar/restaurant nearing the end. He finally opened himself up to Michelle and left it up to her instead of denying his true feelings.
Note: I would have loved it if the author had explored further William and his strained familial relationship. There was a brief moment in the book where I thought Will would get things resolved directly with the concerning party, but it didn't happen. Instead, the ending breezed through the resolution. Since this is the series' last book, I would have hoped for closure on this topic - there were hints in Book 4! The author only mentioned that both parties are "working on it" and inferred that all would be well at the end.
5.) Lastly, Do you know what a town manager is?
This book tells us and more! I never realized that such a job or position existed, and it is a critical one for a small town. I thought the mayor did it all but nope! Promotion and beautification of a town/county are the town manager's job or initiate and provide options! Wil is the perfect town manager (then later more in the book) since he grew up and loves the community. He is always ready to help, and everyone seems to trust him with his decisions about the town. Previous mayors mentored Will, so he knows what would work and improve the community.
Pros:
- Second chances and romance focusing the main characters' growth
- Angst, slow-burning emotions
- Family and love main themes
Cons:
- Boo!!! I cannot believe that this is the last book in the Jewel Lake series. Really?!?! Other characters popped up that I am curious about now, like Reece, Michelle's sister!
- There is some "blame game" going on, BUT that only builds up to the past characters, not meant-to-be. I did not like the emotional abuse that came into it because anyone would be traumatized in that situation.
Tropes: second chances, single parent, small country romance, fake relationship, friends-to-lovers
It's a bittersweet goodbye to this lovely series!
Michelle and Will are single-parents. They both have two daughters and have given up on finding love after the hurt and insecurity they carry from their former relationships. Their plan to focus on career and their daughters go up in flames, when the attraction and feelings between them become too hard to keep at bay.
This book takes place in Jewel Lakes but more so in the fall/winter season, so it's less about the lakes and more about the cozy, small-town feel during the holidays. I missed the lakes but also really liked that warm feel.
All Your Fault is a slow burn. The attraction is there but both Will and Michelle don't want to act on it. They are stubborn and there's a bit of pushing and pulling each other back and forth. I'm an impatient gal so I just wanted to squish them together already. However, the scenes they do have are definitely intense and steamy.
P.S. The cilantro discussion was hilarious and I love that Claire included it since I remember discussing it in a previous poll she had. I agree with Will, they are 'soap leaves'!
I waited a bit impatiently for this book. These two deserved a HEA so much. I will say Will is the most stubborn man and I wanted to knock some sense into him at times.
Top reviews from other countries
Neither Will or Michelle are looking for a relationship, both having sworn off them completely. But that’s a problem for Michelle because she promised her husband Joe that she would find someone else to love after he died.
Both Will and Michelle spend a lot of time denying their feelings for each other because they’ve both been burned so badly in the past. They also butt heads quite a bit because Will and Michelle point out painful truths to each other which sting. But when they finally get together, it’s amazing!
I’m so glad I found this series and I have loved each and every book. This was a great way to end the series.
