Alannah Ryan is plagued by an old face haunting her dreams, turning her waking hours into a mess of worry. Talking it out with the person she loves the most isn’t a possibility, not when the same face haunts him, too.

To protect the love of her life from another burden, she keeps her fear to herself, even as that fear begins to consume her.

Damien Slater has the life he always wanted with the woman he adores by his side, but there’s a problem. His woman is keeping a secret, and they swore they would never let another secret come between them again.

Breaking Alannah’s guard will be Damien’s greatest challenge yet as he proves once and for all that he is in it for the long haul.

Alannah admires Damien, and what Alannah admires, Alannah watches over.

***3,5 "This means war!!!" stars***
(The title goes for Alec and Alannah!!! Bahaha...)

"You can't fear the future. None of us know what will happen."

Every second book in this series with a girl's name on it, is a kind of an extended epilogue of the previous book with the man's name on it...
Honestly, i could live and without them! No, wrong. I would have no problem for them to be added in the previous book with some cut scenes of them, but i have to admit that in each of these books were significant progress in the couples's lives...
So, i sucked it up and i enjoyed it!!! LOL

Well, in here, we moved six months forward and Alannah with Damien are blissfully happy together, even though Damien wants to take the next step with her and she is refusing to do so...
So, there is a conflict between them...
Hmmm... what will happen with those two when they are so agree with each other???
And when life for the rest of the group is progressing very fast, how they will feel???

"I know you're scared for the future, scared that I won't be in it, but you need to know that you aren't an option for me, Alannah. You're my priority."

Well, Alannah's persistence in some things was a little bit unjustified and annoying... Her remaining fears were too many for once again... and i think that she wasn't enjoying her dream coming true as much as she ought to...
Damien on the other hand, thanks fuck, he maned up and i liked him for that...
But what i really liked was the relationship between all the lads and their girls... They are a big loving family and i was enjoying their interactions very much...
What i found truly hillarious though was Alannah and Alec's love/hate relationship!!! I loved their bickering way too much!!!! Bahahaha....

"A plague!" he shouted after us. "You are a plague!"
And that was Alec Slater basically declaring his love for me.

Ah guys! I was longing for a lightweight book that would make me laugh and suddenly my wish was granted when ALANNAH appeared on my Kindle. I love this family so much and I'm a little sad because there's just one more book left.

ALANNAH is a book that comes to show what we more than already know: that Alannah and Damien really love each other. And I LOOOOVE the way Damien loves Alannah. Like, no matter if they're fighting, you sense in their attitudes and the way they talk that Alannah is the woman of his life.

Now, although Damien has always been my favorite Slater, I have to confess that I loved the scenes that Alec appeared here. I even hoped for more of him. The brother/sister friendship he has with Alannah is so cool, beautiful and made me laugh a lot.

ALANNAH is a light drama book, it's fun and makes us love this family even more. I loved that it was introduced a bit more of the Collins brothers here and I'm already prepared for their books. And the best of all is that there is an excerpt from the first chapter of the next book, BROTHERS, which will show the brothers a few years ahead. Already with family formed and children. I feel that I "grew up" watching this family grow. It will be hard to say goodbye to them. Sure we'll probably see them in the Collins brothers' spin off and later in the Slater's Legacy books, but it won't be the same. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves this family.

*I received an ARC of this book. Thank you!

Ah gente!

Obrigada!!

As every one knows I love this series so much, sometimes they are a bit much. But I love it all! This one was a bit different I think because it had a little less drama, but that was all fine with me.

Alannah and Damien was a book everyone wanted to read and was waiting for very much, this second one of them is just as good. We love getting glimpses off them all, they are just so fantastic and lovable!

I love the all the alphas in this series, but lets be honest they all are alphas! The woman make the man run for their lives from time to time, it's so fun to read and also very relaxing! I love these people they give such a joy an relaxing feeling while reading about them.

Torna L.A.

I was given an advanced readers copy of this book and have decided to leave a voluntary honest review. God I love Alannah and Damien. When they argue you can feel the sexual tention is off the charts. And Damien omg he's so perfect the way he cares about her always putting her first. Dealing with her mood swings the man is Saint. I just love this couple.

Whenever a Slater Brothers book comes out I squeal with excitement because I absolutely love this series. It’s on of my go to recs and rereads.

I’m a bit sad though knowing that this is coming to an end. My only comfort is that we will have a spin off that involves these characters that I love so much.

Alannah and Damien went through so much in his book and these two definitely deserve their HEA. Once again in true Slater Brothers fashion we get a read that is full of laughs, alpha possessive Slater men and a bit of angst.

This book will make you fall in love with these two a little bit more and I wasn’t sure that was possible because I floved them in Damien book. Of course this is a Novella so I easily devoured this beauty. Also have to say that LA Casey gives us one hell of a treat in this one and I’m looking forward to the final book.

My reviews of both Damien and Alannah feel bitter/sweet knowing that were drawing end to what has been a fabulous series. My only comfort is that we will be getting a spin off series that involves these characters that I love so much. And fingers crossed to getting some Slater children stories????

Alannah suffered so much mentally and emotionally for me throughout this series. So to see her and Damien finally get their HEA was wonderful. But i can completely understand her feelings on moving the relationship so fast.

Their final journey through this novella will make you fall in love with these two a little bit more. My heart hurt and bloomed for them both.

This whole family once again brought me to tears of laughter. With alpha possessive Slater's and sassy take no shite women. I'm not going into details as this is a novella so just enjoy this family as we're drawing to a close.

But i will say that the wonderful LA Casey gives us one hell of a treat at the end. And now once again i can't wait for her next release even though it will be the final Slater Brothers book!!

This installment in the Slater Brother series was super entertaining. Yes, it was kind of the wrap-up to Alannah & Damien's story but it felt more like a shared Slater Brothers book, which wasn't a bad thing. It was jam-packed with witty banter & some sexy scenes.

My favorite parts...
*The Alannah/Bronagh scenes- Gods, they say the funniest & most honest things when they're together & I love it so damn much.
*Angry sex with Damien- So, so good... *le sigh*
*The babies/pregnancies- They brought such a big smile to my face! Those Slater daddies are adorably swoon-worthy!

My only complaints...
*I really wish this series had dual POVs, so we could see things through the guys' eyes on occasion. This book was screaming out for more from Damien.
*Things were a teeny bit over-the-top with Alec's antics this time around, in my eyes.

This book is a MUST-READ for fans of the Slater Brothers series! The sneak peek chapter for the next book, Brothers, was such a treat! (And in Dominic's POV! YAY!!)

I can't believe that there's just one more book left until this series is complete!

I really enjoyed this novella but the plot was kind of all over the place and I could tell it was kind of half-assed just to have some sort of plot but really, it was all about the character moments. Which, I'm more than ok with. I love that this series as a whole is more character driven and it's just about a group of friends/family falling in love and living their lives.

Sometimes the writing could have been tweaked a bit here and there in this novella but overall I really enjoyed getting this little peak into Alannah and Damien's life. I definitely wanted more but that's what usually happens when I read novellas. However I will say that I thought this book could have touched a bit more on some of the issues Alannah and Damien have in their relationship instead of just brushing them off but other than that, I think the author did a great job.

Alannah was part of the Slater Brothers series by LA Casey and should be read after Damien (book five) but before Brothers (book six). I somehow missed reading this until the end, and although enjoyable, would have been more enjoyable in order.

I’ve taken a break from formal reviews for a while, but a couple quick thoughts: the focus was on Alannah and Damien starting a few months after they got back together. It detailed the struggles Alannah was still having and how they dealt with it as a couple. It also brought in all the craziness of the entire clan and their babies. It was a quick read and a good follow up or epilogue after Damien.

I'm not entirely sure why this book was necessary. Or more specifically, I'm not sure why it was necessary for the book to follow the path that it did. The plot was messy, the relationship was surface-level, and it was just lacking. Given the first chapter, I assumed that it would perhaps have some sort of revenge-style plot, but nope. Nothing.
I kept reading it thinking, "Just keep going, something'll happen." That 'something' was just continual pregnancies. On the topic of pregnancy, this novella is a tad ridiculous. These women must be absolute machines to each pump out five babies on a whim, just one after the other. And oh my days what on earth is the entire thing with there being only ONE girl born out of 25 children? I just couldn't. I genuinely could not contain myself. I laughed out loud, and not in a good way.
This novella is just really silly. It's also pointless, as in there is literally no point in reading it, because it doesn't progress the series. There is no real conflict, and it seems that when there is (as immature as it is), the girls just sort of whine, hold their own for a minute, then give in to the guys' every demand. Come on ladies, grow a backbone. If you don't want one child at the moment, let alone five children, then stick to your guns and stop being pushed around.
I genuinely liked Alannah as a character before reading books 5 and 5.5 in the series. She was sort of a bit more removed from the Slaters and she had her own life, her own stuff going on. I thought that the fact that she was a business owner and had talent was potentially a storyline worth following. But no, her primary focus is Damien, babies, marriage, Bronagh and her babies, Alec, Branna and her babies... Yeah, lots of babies in this one, folks.
So, if you don't like babies, women basically being pressured into marriage and pregnancy, and a lot of filler material, maybe this one isn't for you.

Recensione:

Alannah is another great book by LA Casey and a fantastic addition to the Slater Brothers series. I’d recommend starting the series from the beginning, so you can truly capture the unique personalities of each of her characters. Their possessiveness of what is theirs and their sense of humor will have you falling in love with each and everyone of them. They have a way of crawling into your heart and never leaving.

As a reader I generally stay away from series because I either don’t have the time to continue reading each installment as they are released, or I’m too impatient waiting for the author to finish the next book. Yet, with LA Casey I have followed every one of her Slater Brothers and their significant others throughout the whole series. I won’t deny I wasn’t always patient when waiting for the next book to be released, but once it landed in my hot little hands I was extremely happy.

The thing that draws me in with each of the books in the Slater Brothers series is the insight LA Casey gives us into each of her characters personalities and most importantly, their lives. Each story delivers just the right amount of angst, drama and love to keep you hanging on every word until the very end.

When I started Alannah, I wondered how her story would unravel particularly with her character being the more sensitive one of all the girls in this series. I wanted to be able to feel the emotions Alannah was feeling, to see the world through her eyes and I wanted to live through her struggles along side her. The boy she loves is not part of what you’d call a normal family and his secrets from the past almost ended their happily ever after, before it began. That’s the thing about love and its ability to conquer all. It can take you out of your comfort zone and show you a world you’ve never experienced.

Regardless of what is going on between Alannah and Damien, the one thing that shines through is their love for each other. There’s a connection between these two that LA Casey beautifully executes in her writing. It’s something that jumps off the pages and grabs your attention instantly. After reading Damien I had my own impression of what each of these two characters were like and what they wanted in their futures. In saying that, I was completely awed with the amazing twist in this installment that I didn’t see coming because it made me realize that maybe I didn’t know Alannah and Damien as well as I thought I did.

This series is one I could re-read again and again with ease and I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for something different and out of the ordinary.

I've loved the Slater Brothers since the debut story, "Dominic" which is Dominic aka Nico and Bronagh's story came out and each one has been awesome and I've got to admit I'm a bit sad while reading this, knowing we're one book away for the Slater Brothers Series to end but nonetheless, I've forged on and started reading the novella, "Alannah" and I wasn't disappointed at all :) I loved every single moment of reading this novella :)

Here we get to see our couple, Damien and his freckles, Alannah, after being together for six months after the ending of Damien, still happy, still very much in love; especially after what happened when Alannah found out, in not an honest way, the dark secret the Slater clan was keeping from her but I'm glad she listened and everything is now well, six months into the relationship, we are getting to see how our couple are doing after everything went down and then cleaned out...

This novella takes us on several roller coaster rides of various emotions but I will say this, every couple from the "Slater Brothers Series" have had to overcome major obstacles and secrets and conquer them to be together and Damien & Alannah are not the exception to that; they both have to overcome obstacles, some are on the outside, but mostly, the internal ones that mainly have to do with Alannah's fear of going too fast in their relationship and Damien wanting what all of his brothers have... a family and a happy marriage with each of their women and he wants the same with his freckles :)

With a little help from their friends and family, these two eventually get their head on straight and out of their rear, especially Alannah. They both learn more from each other, get a major mind-blowing unexpected surprise but a happy one nonetheless and FINALLY get their happily ever after <3

After everything both Damien and Alannah have been through, throughout their years apart and after getting together in true Slater form, they beat the obstacles, fears, insecurities and demons to a bloody pulp and reach their happy ending and it was bittersweet for me and I'll admit I cried a little while I was reading the ending but then the author, L.A. Casey gave me and will give to all of the people who read this novella, some major insight on what we'll read in the last book, "Brothers" and I cried happy tears and laughed my butt off in some of the scenes I read :)

Thank you, L.A. Casey for giving us,the readers and fans, those pages into what we'll get in the last Slater book and I'm happy but still anxiously waiting for it to come out soon too ;)
I hope after we get to read more about Gavin and his baby mama, Kalin and hopefully we find out the reason why Gavin doesn't want to commit to a relationship with her (she's in love with him) but he still wants to co-parent with her to be there for their son... Anxious but patiently waiting for the start of a new series that will feature Aideen's brothers who are the Collins Brothers and all of them getting their story and see all the women who finally tame the Collins Brothers will be awesome to read about and I'm the first on board to read them all :)

Buongiorno, readers.

Buona lettura.

This was such a bittersweet read for me!

We were there from the very beginning with these boys so it was a little emotional having to turn the last page on this book.

But in true LA Casey style - this book definitely left me wanting me and I wasn't disappointed -especially when I got to the end of the book and found a sneak peak at the next generation of Slaters - the kiddos!!

HELL YEAH!

But I digress - back to Alannah...

I loved this book!

We got great insight in to what made Alannah tick as well as a look at how the events that happened in Damien affected her.

For me, the biggest thing that stood out, was the distinct difference between Damien and the other brothers.

I thought it was so telling when Damian said to Alannah said "My brothers don't care if their women talk shit to them, but I do, so remember that when you want to run your mouth."

I can't explain what that phrase did to me but it just painted Damien in such a different light for me when comparing him to the other brothers throughout the series!

It was such a poignant tale that wrapped up everyone's stories so well...having babies and getting married and still being such important parts of each others lives!

Thanks god we got closure on the Harry Potter tea cup with Alec as well - gah that was hilarious!

Overall an awesome conclusion to an awesome series!

Like they say in the classics - this is not 'goodbye'...more 'see you soon'...

...and that is exactly how I felt by the end of this book!

As one chapter finished another fresh set of pages begins and I for one, cannot wait!!!

Amazing job LA Casey and thank you for bringing us all along for the ride with the Slater brothers!!

Let me start this review with...the ending part of this book. Cuz it got my heart. Because you'll have the chance to get a sneak peek of the conclusive book of this series. You'll meet again every single Slater starting by Dominic!
It's unbelievable that we got here, The Slater brothers Series is almost over. And I loved and I'd read this series over and over again.
Now, Alannah concluded the circle. Alannah is a very special tender and sweet novella. While she is going to have her off moments, and some uncertainties, or doubts, HE will always be sure of what he wants and needs: his freckles! Damien Slater had been though a lot, but when he loves someone, he loves completely, unconditionally, and for always. Never doubts about his feelings for Alannah.
You should know by now, how alpha-romantic Damien could be. Prepare yourself for more. You will fall in love with him again.
As usual you'll meet all the "clan" the Slater brothers and their women.
The story focuses on Alannah and Dame, but I really like Alannah and Alec's "relationship". If you have read Damien, ( the previous book) you already know that they have a very funny way to teasing one other. Their interaction is going to keep you laugh out loud.
I loved to spend some time with all of them again! And I'm really looking forward for the final book!

I have loved this series and it’s definitely made Lee one of my go to authors. I’m so sad the series is coming to an end...thank God we are getting a spin-off in The Collins Brothers series!!

Another great novella with thrills and fights (in Tesco of all places!), laughter and tears (Alec 😂) and more lovely Slater babies!!

I didn’t think I could love Damien more than I already do, but he’s just perfect! He loves Alannah and just wants to show her he’s not going anywhere and wants to build a future with her...but he doesn’t realise nightmares about Morgan/Carter are holding her back.

What can Damien do to prove to Lana that he’s in it for life? She’s his for keeps!
Quick easy read-perfect for the summer!!

I’m crying happy tears. How the author got me feeling almost every emotion in the span of this little novella I’ll never know but I loved it. The family dynamic and dysfunction will always be my favourite part about the Slater Family. And their loyalty. It was also the perfect ending to Damien and Alannah’s story. I can’t wait for the next book! That excerpt at the end had me screaming! I loved it!
