Video quality is brutal, it exceed my expectation. Also you get a davinci where you can further colorgrade and get a perfect footage.
Pros:
- video quality
- funcionality
- codecs and file size
- compact
Cons:
- battery life ( battery is more of an emergency thing rather than a main source of power. So look for better source of power right away)
- none existent image stabilization (but for the price point it's fine)
- huge crop factor when recording in 1080p
All in all worth every penny.
Update, 3 years later still my favorite camera.
Pair it with a speedbooster and I can use all my canon glass specially the sigma 18-35 art works wonderfully
Just a reminder, this is a cinema camera so no continuous auto focus and no in body stabilization. Also, no flip screen and the battery is horrendous, maybe 30 minutes of max. I live in a really sunny area so maybe this won't be an issue in other places, but the screen is also not viewable outdoors on a sunny day. If i had to guess, it must be like 250 nits or less.
Just make sure you are getting this because it is what you need and not because of the hype. This will be great for documentaries, narrative work, interviews, etc. It will also work fine for music videos, weddings, etc, but if that is what you will use it for 100% of the time then maybe there are better options. It is also definitely not the choice for vlogging, that is just a bad idea. I use it for multiple uses so while it may not be the best for some, I can't afford multiple camera systems, so it works well for me.
Top reviews from other countries
It is not perfect in the world of £10k++ cameras, but for £1300.00 it is worth it's weight in gold.
This camera is for budding filmmakers and professionals. As there will be a steep learning curve for the enthusiast whose experience in cameras are purely "point and shoot". Saying that this is an affordable camera to get you started in the wonderful world of F-stop and RAW, HDR and all those video technical bits you hear from some youtubers.
Y lo he podido comprobar realmente, he llegado a 13 pasos y medio.
2- Pantalla no abatible.
Y además no te permite usar ProRes. Completamente inaceptable.
