I thought I was safe, free, but I never expected to find myself locked in a cage.
I’m in his territory. His prison.
The beast.
A fate worse than death awaits me if I can’t get away, so when the opportunity of salvation presents itself I grab it, even if I’m unsure if I can trust the hand I’m holding.
The only way out is through, exposing secrets and spilling blood.
Things aren’t how they appear. Nobody is what they seem.
Not even me.

Beauty and the Beast Mafia Style!

I enjoyed this tale of the Daughter to the Mafia Consigliere who drove his wife to commit suicide with his ambition for money and power. He treated his daughter like a prisoner and she rebelled by flirting with his men until one day he did something unforgivable and treated her in a way she couldn’t forgive. Arabella ran and hid out in the only place she could get work for cash under the table with no documentation, a strip club.

Years later her father’s men find her and warn her that she may be in danger but she doesn’t believe them and is not about to accept their help if it means going back to living under his thumb. That night she is kidnapped on the way home and brought to a warehouse where she is forced to live in a cage.

She knows the men are sex traffickers and from things she hears, she figures out they work for the same Mafia family that her father does but she can’t figure out if they know who she is or not. She asks the man in charge, Domineco, if he knows who she is and he says yes. But she isn’t sure if he means he knows she is a stripper named Ella or the Consigliere’s daughter named Arabella.

Ari slowly starts finding herself more and more attracted to the handsome Capo with the scar across his face. Domineco claims Ari as his and plucks a petal from a rose every day. Ari knows it is some sort of count down but she is not sure if it is to her sale or to her death. However she is afraid that telling him who her father is will not do any good if it was her father who had her kidnapped to begin with, so she keeps her mouth shut.

I thought the world building was spectacular, the struggle and angst were believable, the romance was hot. The Mafia setting was perfect for this story. There were a few small detractors, like the fact that Domineco was a human trafficker and he said he didn’t really like the job but he did it because he was loyal to the family. Also he didn’t rape women and he fell for Ari pretty quickly and then he just wanted to protect her. But then this other girl came in and he had no problem selling her to the highest bidder and seeing her as property. He even referred to Ari as property. I just don’t see it. I don’t think you can just be indifferent to human trafficking and sexual slavery. Either you get off on it (even if for just the power and the money) or you hate it with a passion. But that is just a guess on my part.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts & opinions are my own.

"Hades himself will not take you from me."
description

Abducted is a dark mafia romance in the Sinister Fairy Tales Collection. K.I. Lynn has delivered a dark and delicious modern Beauty and the Beast with a blast of action, suspense, and passionate love. Domenico is a Mafia man who has fought hard to keep his status secure in his family. When a beautiful young woman ends up in his grasp, he decides that she is his and he will do anything to keep her safe. Arabella isn't quite as innocent as she seems. When she finds herself in a difficult situation, she fights back with all that she has. When passion ignites between her and one of her captors (Domenico), all of the pieces on the gameboard are turned upside down. When it is unknown who is your friend or foe, Domenico and Ari can only lean on each other to fight their way through.

description
"I want nothing more than to walk this life with you beside me."
Told in multiple POV, Abducted offers a perfect blend of passion, intrigue, and non-stop action. The characters are complex and the intense circumstances kept me on the edge of my seat the entire read!
"You're mine and I'm yours forever."
Overall, Abducted will appeal to dark romance fans who enjoy a passionate dark romance with raw emotions and plenty of grit. K.I. Lynn is an expert storyteller who never fails to blow me away. I am looking forward to more K.I. Lynn goodness to come!

Dark, suspenseful and gripping... this story was unlike any Beauty and the Beast tale I've ever read. Aside from the heroine calling herself 'Ella' and a dying rose, there were no similarities. Ella, after running away from the prison of her home, lived her first taste of freedom, away from her father and his tyranny. However, the mafia never lets you go and her father wasn't letting her get away. One night her carefree life ends and she finds herself trapped in a cage, at the mercy of men who trade in flesh. Once a princess, now a slave.

The Beast, la Bestia, was a man named Domenico. He walked with an air of authority and an intensity that was impossible to resist. While Ella hungered for the man in the shadows, I found myself anticipating his every move. Was it possible he was the dark hero she was waiting for? Amidst family secrets and betrayals, infighting and petty squabbles, and the destiny of two mafia legacies, Ella and Domenico found love. It was twisted and bloody and glorious! I had no idea what would happen next and that's just what I was looking for. If you like suspenseful stories, then Abducted is the book for you.

3.5 “dark fairytale reimagining” stars

Abducted was pretty good if you enjoy dark captive romances. It’s a dark reimagining of Beauty and the Beast set in a mafia world. There are some surprise reveals, and many dark themes. Overall it’s a good read. It’s funny to read at the end that this was first meant to be a Hunchback of Notre Dame reimagining because as I read I totally kept getting the feeling that it was like that. Esmerelda in the tower. The shaming for being her own woman and free. Anyway. Check it out if you enjoy captive mafia romance and dark fairytale retellings.

This is a modern-day mafia loose retelling of that old classic beauty and the beast.
We have a La Bestia and a Belle, a rose and even a library but that’s where the similarity’s end with this one.
So Belle real name Ari is on the run from her past and working as a stripper to make ends meet.
Enter Domenico who along with his men run her off the road and snatch her from the streets.
Here she is kept captive in a cage with no idea of her eventual fate.
So there were things contained here that were not easy reading especially in regards to the initial onset of Dom and Ari’s connection.
What I soon realised though was there were thing’s that were not always what they seemed and despite evidence to the contrary Dom was trying to shield Ari from a far worse fate in the only way he could and as this progressed he only got more possessive and protective as did she of him.
And at one point here I was literally expecting them to both go down in a blaze of glory so deep were they in.
There were also many secrets from both sides here just waiting to be unveiled.
Pace-wise this was ramped and non-stop action throughout.
I also really appreciated the finale and the way Ari got her final vengeance for herself and her mother it just felt so fitting and appropriate.
I enjoyed this one a lot just do be aware that there are some scenes that are initially a little dub-consent and if that bothers you do avoid.
This one gets a definite thumbs up from me.
I voluntary reviewed a copy of Abducted.

Somewhere in Chicago…

The chains chafed my wrists, making me wish I was still in my cage. Though it lacked privacy at least I had a bed and wasn’t restrained with my arms above my head. But I was in Domenico’s domain. The small bedroom like area created from a previous office. There was a mattress with a blanket and a lamp, but those were the only creature comforts. The rest of the room retained both the look and smell of the rest of the decaying structure.
With no way to tell time, I wasn’t sure how long I’d been there. All I knew was that I was tired. Being held against my will caused spikes in my adrenaline, and the crash left me drained. They had lessened over the weeks, but there was an undercurrent of strife going on, and I feared what would happen if things got out of control.
I stared at the bed, wishing I was on it. All that did was cause the memories of him inside me to come crashing down. The absolute owning of my body for him and him alone. The way he made me come undone.
Feelings that I shouldn’t have with his touch, but I did.
Feelings I drowned in as he consumed me.
I am Domenico’s...for now.
And that was the thought that always sent questions spiraling out of control and a spike of fear to run through me.
I was just a caged bird. A pet awaiting a sentence bound to be more grim than any fairy tale horror.

Ella runs away from her father because she just can't take it anymore and after what he did to her physically, that is the final straw to finally leave him. She became this fierce, independent woman but always on a lookout from the people who might know who she really is.

Dominico is a capo. Who's always trying to prove his worth to his family. He's this menacing, dominant alpha male who's words and action should scare anyone.

Being in the wrong place at the wrong time, Ella got abducted by Dominoco's men to be sold to the highest bidder. But when Dominico saw her for the first time, he decided to claim her. Does this mean he knows her? What will Ella do now?

Abducted is one story that will take you on a journey of secret, lies, deception, death, and love. This was a very exciting and intense story. I was drawn by carefully developed characters and settings. There is enough excitement to keep me turning the pages and my desperation to find out what was going to happen. K.I. Lynn knows how to keep one's attention, she definitely got mine. I enjoyed this retelling of the classic story of Beauty and the Beast into a dark, mafia inspired romance. I recommend this book if you're into this kind of read.

Big DNF on this one.
But where oh where do I start..... Hmm? (minor-ish spoilers to follow)

Could it be the fact that our h is an ex-mafia princess who knows some of her father's mafia men will be coming for her, yet has no weapons at hand whatsoever?!? Like girl are you for real? I know you've got a can of pepper spray, which is commendable and all, but where the fuck is your Glock? Uzi? AK-47? Water gun perhaps? Nerf gun? ANYTHING??? Oh but then later, when her rapist lover boi needs some saving, she wields a gun like some kind of Sarah Connor wannabe... Like bitch please, just GTFO. No ones buying what you've been selling, honey.

Now let's get to the root of the problem. Dominico. Dominico Something. I admit I didn't bother to remember his last name or even remember if it was mentioned. Anyways... You suck. Like really suck. Like stubbing your baby toe or burning your tongue level of sucking. Worst of the worst. And don't get me wrong, I like anti-heroes and LOVE a good dark read, but I cannot stand the whole "I abused/raped you for your own good" BULLSHIT. Can't stand that nonsense. Especially when the h just starts loving him during the whole abuse. Like dah fahq is wrong with you woman? The man legit date raped you in a room filled with other AWFUL, HORRENDOUS men, and you're all over the moon for him??? C'mon now, I just ain't feelin that.

ALSO, and I don't know how I didn't remember this sooner, but the man works in human trafficking. Like I'm sorry, but that is the absolute worst thing for me to read about when it comes to anti-heroes. Murderous mobsters? I'm all for it. Serial killers? My bread and fuckin butter. But human traffickers'? Big fat fuckin NO. Not gonna happen. Never gonna get on board with an asshole who partakes in that kind of business. You can just fuck right off Dominico.

Next, we have Ari/Ella's asshole extraordinaire of a father who has legit got to be the WORST father I have ever had the grand misfortune of reading about. He's a legit AF piece of shit who sexually assaulted her. Like who TF wants to read about that?

This has got to be the worst Beauty and the Beast retelling I've ever attempted and honestly, I usually love them. Actually, I don't think I've ever really fully disliked one before. But you know what they say, there's a first time for everything.

HEAR YE HEAR YE. No one read this shit. I promise, you will regret it.

Very, very, VERY loosely based on Beauty and the Beast, with a good dollop of Romeo and Juliet too.

I enjoyed this, it's definitely one of the better stories in the series (which has been very hit and miss), holding my attention and being easy to read. I liked Ari/Ella and, once we actually got to know him, Domenico proved to also be a great character. This is a contemporary mafia romance, not the grittiest I've read but it did hold many aspects of realism. I don't think I've read anything by K.I. Lynn before, I did like the author's writing voice and found the book entertaining.

Conflict was too easily resolved, and sometimes not fully explained. It was also very insta-love with us being told more than shown their feelings. However the chemistry between Ari and Dom was nicely portrayed and I definitely felt the heat and attraction between them. That said, I'm not convinced that having narrowly missed being horrifically raped you would then immediately have sex with someone else.

So for me this was good but not great, mainly due to my personal preferences rather than any serious failings of plot, pace or characterisation. I would be happy to recommend this to those who love a mafia/captive romance that is on the paler end of the dark spectrum and I would consider reading more work by the author, genre dependent.

I loved it! I’m hooked on Ari and Dominico. The plot, pace, and style this book made for entertaining and satisfying reading. I read the book in one sitting.

This is on the paler shade of dark romance, although what the h suffers at the hands of her father is downright disgusting. The H is super possessive and protective. Lots of good lines came from him. There is great chemistry between the MC’s. I was pleasantly surprised to have liked this book so much!

Abducted by K.I. Lynn is part of the Sinister Fairy Tales Collection. This is Ella/Arabella (Ari) and Domenico (The Beast)'s twisted , sexual magical and modern retelling of Beauty and the Beast.
I will say, this is NOT any Disney Beauty or Beast characters that you have seen before. This is dark, sensual, twisted and raw... yet the magic comes across in the love that Ella/Ari and Domenico have as they fall in love's spell. Yes, there's bumps and problems along the way but hey, it's romance- a dark romance read. What makes this an exciting and memorable read is the chemistry between Ari and The Beast. Add in the dangers, the intrigue, action and suspense...the passion and heat 🔥 plus the dark, erotic kink between Ella/Ari and The Beast. This made for a fantastic read and I enjoyed the plot, characters and amazing writing.

The best way to describe this is Beauty and the Beast meets Romeo and Juliet in the mafia world.

It's a high-intensity novel from start to finish. Nothing is as it seems. From hidden identities to hidden agendas, this story had me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going on and what was going to happen next.

Abducted was a great read in The Sinister Fairy Tales Collection.

My god, this was addictive! Loved every single twisted page.
I see many saying it was a modern re-telling of The Beauty and The Beast, for me it halfway turned into Romeo and Juliet set in the mafia world.

Ella has left her old life behind 3 years ago. When her mother committed suicide and her father's power-hungry ways got out of control, she set her plan into motion and disappeared. But there's no quitting the mafia. She's not only found but abducted one night after work and held in a cage for reasons unknown. She's scared out of her mind, but she's also too strong to break so easily. Soon it's clear that it's either a fake kidnapping ordered by her father or she's going to be sold for the highest bidder.
She's not sure about the organization that took her, but there's an unexplainable connection between her and their leader. Domenico and his silver eyes have hypnotized her from day one and for some reason, he makes sure to claim her so no one else would touch her.
He's also the one who helps her escape, but there are truths they are both keeping from each other. The more that comes to light, the more complicated their situation becomes.
Until the end, when they are left with only two options.
Reign or die.

I’m a sucker of a Beauty and the Beast inspired story ~ even though when I picked this baby I had no clue what the story would be about ~ regardless, once I found out that this baby was inspired by my fav fairytale, I was excited to dive in and I gotta say, I really enjoyed the ride. It had the essence of the fairytale, but the author definitely made it her own and kept me turning the pages to see just how this Beauty and Beast got their HEA.

I loved Arabella and Domenico. Arabella is a mixture of sweet, sassy and determined. Add in her strong sense of self and the will to survive at all costs and you have a woman to be reckoned with. Domenico is my kind of alpha AF beast. Life has made him hard and ruthless, to the point where one does wonder just how much of a human heart is left in the beast.

Their journey to their HEA was an interesting one. There was a spark between them from the start, even if that start was definitely not a meet cute moment, but from there it grew and as their worlds collide and unravel, it is very obvious that they complete each other in ways neither could have ever imagined.

This is my first read by the author and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The writing was engaging, the pacing was good and while it is a solo first person POV, I ended up really liking being in Ari’s head. There are many books out there that are inspired by the Beauty and the Beast fairytale, some good, some okay, but this adaptation was done very well and fit perfectly into the mafia world the author created. And as for the characters that populate this very dark world, I thought they were all well crafted and there are a few I wouldn’t mind reading more about in the future.

Romeo and Juliet of the mafia. Ari hoped to stay hidden from her tyrant father but instead another crime family found her. Domenico was supposed to watch her, he never planned on wanting more from her.

Ari and Domenico were hot, hot, and some more hot!! Yes, there was fighting, guns, blood and death, but in between there was passion, lust and love. It had been awhile since I have read an Alpha male and Domenico fit every bit the alpha… Badass. Check. Sexy. Check. Rough. Check. Possessive. Check, check and check. I could go on and on, but I will stop there.

Ari was no weakling; she held her own and as the story progress so did her strength. I really enjoyed this story and may need a cold shower now.

Abducted is another amazing story in The Sinister Fairy Tales Collection. The previous books I’ve read have been brilliant and this is another favourite.

Beauty and the Beast is my favourite fairy tale so I was super excited to read this story. I wasn’t disappointed as I loved this story. The characters, the storyline. I loved it all.

A brilliant fast paced dark story that had me glued from start to finish. I read it in one sitting as I couldn’t put it down.

I really enjoyed this story!

It’s definitely one of the best fairytale retellings I’ve read....it was a lot darker than I expected too, which I loved.

Lots of twists and turns and I really liked the subtle hints of the traditional Beauty and the Beast story! It had some real Godfather vibes too.

If you fancy a good mafia romance then definitely give this a read🌹

What to say about such a fabulous read???

I’ll try...

If you were to imagine the most kick butt fairy tail, that merged a dark, kinky Romeo & Juliet with Beauty and the beast ... you might get close to the awesomeness that is this story!

Fabulous character development
Awesome writing
Great plot
Epic all the way around!

Loved this. Highly recommend.

I really enjoyed this dark mafia romance, the first book I've read by this author, it wont be the last!

Abducted is part of the Sinister Fairy tales Collection and is set in modern day Chicago, loosely based on Beauty and the Beast. It is packed full of suspense, action, danger, violence, blood and steam, what I hope for in a story set in the world of organized crime where they live and die by their own laws and loyalties. Ella is abducted and put in a cage, starved and humiliated, but could the beast in the shadows actually be protecting her from a far worse fate? Secrets, lies, hidden identities and mafia family feuds made this a fast paced story I really enjoyed. There is an element of dub-con which is never ok, but it fitted with the context and situation Ella was in and with the very dark tones of the story.

The cover is beautiful, but if you want roses and sweet romance, this probably isn't for you. If you like a dark, dirty, possessive, very protective monster of an alpha hero with a heart and a strong, sassy, determined, strong willed heroine, I'd recommend giving this a read

I read an early copy of Abducted and loved this mafia-spin on the classic Beauty and the Beast fairy tale. It was so well done with just the right amount of darkness underlined with a heavy dose of suspense to keep you turning the pages. I definitely recommend it to those who enjoy dark suspense, alpha heroes, and strong heroines.

Ella (Belle/Ari/Arabella) ran from her father and has been on her own since then, making ends meet by stripping. When some suits show up at her club, she figures her father has finally found her, but she's not about to go down without fighting. Unfortunately, the man who's actually come for her, who actually takes her, just may be worse than her father, so how can she possibly be falling for Domenico, la Bestia?

Will Domenico really sell her to the highest bidder, or will this Beast want the Beauty for his own?

I love this entry of the Sinister Fairy Tales Collection, a dark retelling of Beauty and the Beast, Mafia style. It's dark and sexy and Arabella and her Bestia are a powerful, intense couple.

Abduction by KI Lynn is a dark, suspenseful, and twisted fairytale version of Beauty and the Beast meets The Godfather.

Ella/Arabella (Ari) mafia princess; ran away from the home and lived a low key life and looking over her shoulder....then she was abducted: last thing she sees are silver eyes and a deep scar. Hears the whispers “Nighty night, princess,”
Domenico is capo with a scarred face known as La Biesta (the Beast) who claimed this beautiful girl. “My name is Domenico, and I’m your new god."
He is dark, dangerous and dominating man; he was also misinformed and took action... including her without knowing her identity. That's where everything changes and the mystery of why she was taken come to light. Little truths appear, their connection grows and their sexual encounters are hot AF!

Their story captivated me from the beginning as always KI Lynn delivers a fantastic read! Emotions are all over the place; angst, dark and raw; betrayal and lies; lust and love, sadness and happiness.

This story is one that I won't forget about any time soon and I will be definitely be re-reading again....again....

He was known as the Beast. A man in the shadows, The Enforcer, The Assasin.. danger and death surrounded him..
Ella, a once Mafia Princess, now abducted, held captive in a cage to be broken and sold into the life of a sex slave.

Oh my this book!!! Superbly combined with a beautiful growing love and the darkest voilence and destruction of the underworld.

Dark, gritty and uniquely unlike any other Beauty & The Beast Tale is have yet read.
Full of suspense and twists so unpredictable that my head was spinning and my mind and heart plastered to the pages.
Family Secrets, Betrayals, Squabbles, angst, voilence and destinies clashing all in the midst of a beautifully growing Love.

Would this Dark Beast be her Dark Knight in Shining Armour? If you love a book that keeps you on edge and glued to the pages. Be brave and dive in!!!!

I won an ARC yesterday and of course, I read the whole book in one breath.

description

The theme was Beauty and Beast meets Romeo and Juliet meets mafia, so obviously my crazy ass loved it.

Book had everything you need for a good read; angst, lust, betrayal, and love.

The main characters had a lot in common from their unbalanced and sad childhoods to their fierce love and never-ending will to fight and stay alive ( which they needed all too much because they had targets on their backs till the fricking end). But do to their efforts they made the best out of everything. Maybe not a dream solution, but they made it work.

"Hades himself will not take you from me. Ever. You are mine from this life to the next."
"Always."

description

The whole reference with roses was maybe the best one I ever encountered in the books with a theme like this.

description

I would rate this book with a 4,5. Just because at some points the story was rushed and just felt like everything is happening at once. My opinion is that when you have this kind of good writing style, you don't need to rush your story.

But in general, if you like this kind of storylines, go for it!

Abducted is the latest addition to the Sinister Fairy Tales Collection. This is a mafia style retelling of Beauty and the Beast and it was dark, intense and steamy. Domineco and Arabella's journey was an edgy one. They had a strong connection and their chemistry was sizzling hott, yet inspite of their insta-lust/love I enjoyed seeing the development of their relationship.
The story was filled with twists and turns you would not see coming, suspense, action, betrayal, loyalty and so much more. I enjoyed it and would recommend to all lovers of dark romance.

* New to me author

Not only do you get some of the best retellings in this Sinister Collection but I have been introduced to some of the greatest storytellers out there. K.I. is one of those. Having never read one of her books I jumped right into Abducted and god did I love this story.

Abducted is a dark retelling of beauty and the beast with a mafia twist. And seriously who would not want to read one of those. Ella/Arabella is the princess in this story. She has an idea of what goes on in her family but has a little clue on how deadly and dirty it can really get.

Domenico (the beast) knows what it takes to be a mafia king. He is willing to get himself dirty and bloody to stay that way. But he wants Ella for his princess and will do anything to keep her.

I am so a fain of K.I. now and can't wait to jump into more of her stories!
