KK 14 capsule
The MCM 114’s sound comes courtesy of Neumann’s newly designed KK 14 capsule. This small-diaphragm electret condenser utilizes a confidential 8-layer design for fine-tuned performance. Developed for close-miking, the KK 14 produces sublime results on acoustic instruments of all kinds. It balances the girthy bass response needed to mic double bass and timpani without sacrificing the midrange, or the vivid high-end detail Neumann is known for. And thanks to its low self-noise design and high SPL handling (153dB maximum), the KK 14 capsule will catch every nuance of your performance from pianissimo to fortississimo.
Includes an optimized mounting kit
You get much more than a microphone when purchasing the MCM 114 Brass/Saxophone Set. It comes with an MC 6 universal mounting clip with soft foam padding that attaches directly to your instrument without doing any harm. The MC 6’s gooseneck holder rotates and locks in 45-degree increments for perfect orientation on any source.
